This 6-week beginner’s class is perfect for anyone who’s ever wanted to try their hand at the potter’s wheel! With no prior clay experience required, you’ll learn the fundamentals of centering, shaping, trimming, and glazing while creating functional pieces such as cups, bowls, and mugs.
Students with prior experience are also welcome! Returning potters will have the chance to refresh their foundations, work at their own pace, and receive individual feedback on building their skills and tackling new challenges.
About the Instructor:
Sean Norton is a potter, projection designer, performer and educator from Ithaca, New York. He studied Arts & Creative Technology and Ceramic Archaeology at Oberlin College. His work spans a variety of mediums, including wheel-thrown ceramics, kinetic sculpture, and digital & analog media for installations and live performance.
