Blacksmithing 101 with Scott - 10/8/25, 10/15/25, 10/22/25

This three-part class will introduce students to the basic techniques of forging – including safety in the forging area. Students will learn to use the basic tools in the blacksmith shop and how to use them properly.

Students will learn the basic forging principles to manipulate steel: 

• drawing out/tapering
• twisting
• bending/scrolling
• upsetting
• isolating material
• splitting/cutting
• punching and drifting holes
• rounding square stock
