About the Class
What exactly is a 'lil guy?! They can be anything you want them to be! An animal, bug, plant or an animated everyday object - add a face onto a fruit, that's a 'lil guy!! Make a snail with legs running away from who knows what, that's a 'lil guy! You will learn how to bring your ideas to life with additive and subtractive sculpting techniques. Whether you come in with an idea of what to make, or if you'd like to let your imagination run wild in the process - there is unlimited potential of what you can create.
Class will include time for demonstration, working on your project and glazing your piece. (If you would like to spend the whole class sculpting, instructor can glaze your piece one color after class)
Any experience level welcome!! All ages welcome, anyone under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. All materials and tools will be provided.
Pick-up time for your 'lil guy will be 2-3 weeks after class date.
About the Instructor - Sam McKee (they/them)
Sam's first memory of making art was with their mom, learning how to draw a star when they were a wee child. They have loved creating ever since. Prior to the start of the pandemic, Sam worked in engineering and their creative pursuits were put on the back burner. Feeling very unfulfilled, they left the field in search of something more aligned with self. Since finding Past Lives Makerspace, their heart has found home in art and community and is excited to have the opportunity to share with others the power and magic of creation.
