Add a handmade touch to your kitchen with a ceramic berry bowl of your own creation! In this 2-hour handbuilding workshop, you’ll learn to shape and decorate a functional strainer bowl—perfect for rinsing and serving fresh berries, cherries, or tomatoes. Sean will guide you step by step through slab-building the bowls, piercing the drainage holes, and adding personal details to make your piece one of a kind.
This project is beginner-friendly, and no clay experience is required. After class, your berry bowl will be glazed and fired, ready for everyday use or as a gift!
What’s Included:
- 2-Hour instructed session
- All materials, tools, clay, and glazes provided
- Firing of 1 berry bowl per student (we can finish and fire additional pieces for a small fee)
About the Instructor:
Sean Norton is a potter, projection designer, performer and educator from Ithaca, New York. He studied Arts & Creative Technology and Ceramic Archaeology at Oberlin College. His work spans a variety of mediums, including wheel-thrown ceramics, kinetic sculpture, and digital & analog media for installations and live performance.
