Zoo 102 builds on 101 and will introduce the design process, selecting and preparing metal, welding techniques. Practice basic welding while creating a small, finished sculpture – more as time allows. Prerequisite: Zoo 101

 

In this 3-hour workshop, students will learn how to safely operate a MIG welder, make tack welds and use an angle grinder to cut and clean metal.

Important Note:

Please wear only cotton, wool or leather. Synthetics melt to your skin when the sparks fly.

 

About the Instructor:

Metal sculptor Jacqueline Sowell is a tech-world defector, trading her career in the software industry for a life of making things with her hands and enjoying students and fellow artisans.

 

Jacqueline splits her time between creating animal sculptures, including commissioned pet portraits, and helping other metalworkers achieve their goals through CNC services and welding workshops.
