Preview a guild announcement as it will look on the guild page

Step 2 of writing a guild announcement now has a Guild Page preview showing the announcement exactly as it will appear at the top of your guild page.
It shows even when you post to the guild page only, so there is no need to switch email on just to see a preview.

Nov 3, 2026

Guild lead contact details follow your privacy settings

Opening a guild lead's name on a guild page now shows only the contact details that lead chose to share in the Member Directory.
A phone number, email, Discord name, pronouns or About Me set to Hidden stays hidden there. A hidden email also stays off the email button and the printable guild flyer.
Orientor photos on guild orientation pages follow your profile photo setting too.

Nov 3, 2026

Previews and new tab links stay inside the iPhone app

In the iPhone app, pressing Preview while setting up a class, or any link that would open a new tab on the portal, now opens inside the app where you are already signed in, instead of in Safari asking for a login code.
Links to other websites still open in your browser.

Nov 3, 2026

Start and stop your session at the machine

Equipment managers can turn on Sessions (Start and Stop) for an hourly machine on Hours and Limits. Each machine then gets a session QR code to post beside it.
During your reservation, press Start Session on your booking or scan the machine's QR code. Press Stop Session when you are done.
The time you did not use, rounded up to the half hour, becomes credit on that machine for your next booking. Managers see when each session started and stopped.

Nov 3, 2026

Reserve a garden bed for the whole season

Equipment managers can give an item a season start and end on Hours and Limits. Members then reserve it for the whole season with one press, first come first served.
Garden beds are the first use: reserve your bed from spring until after the last harvest, and the next season opens to everyone again.

Nov 3, 2026

Walkthrough buttons start their tour on every guild

Walkthrough on a guild's page now opens that guild's settings and starts the tour there.
The Guild Settings walkthroughs now start on whichever guild you open them from, for admins and for leads of more than one guild.

Nov 2, 2026

Guilds still getting set up can wear a New Guild badge

A guild that is new and still getting set up can show a gold New Guild badge on its page, on its card in the guild directory and on its row in the sidebar, inviting members to join in and help shape it.
Admins turn the badge on and off, and choose whether members can see each guild, from the new Guilds page in Admin Tools or from a guild's settings. A guild with the badge stays on the voting ballot like any other guild.

Nov 2, 2026

The guild rules popup takes one press

The new guild staff rules popup no longer asks you to turn on a switch first: press I Understand to go on.
Read the Full Rules opens the rules article without the popup over it.

Nov 2, 2026

Guild picks count from more than one Discord message

Discord allows 20 reactions per message, so the guild picker in #choose-your-guild can now span more than one message.
Add the extra message ids under More reaction-role message ids in Site Settings, Discord tab. A reaction on any of them joins that guild, and nobody is dropped from a guild while they still react on one of them.

Nov 1, 2026

Discount codes can be for members only

Turn on Members only when you make or edit a class discount code, and only signed in members with an active membership can use it.
Anyone else who types it is told the code is for members and pays the regular price.

Nov 1, 2026

Every instructor has their own discount code

Each instructor now has a discount code that works on every class they teach. Share it with anyone you like.
Find it at the top of My Classes and on the Discount Codes tab, with every code that works on your classes.
A class's Overview lists the codes that work on that class.

Nov 1, 2026

Hidden guilds show in the sidebar for the people who run them

A hidden guild now appears in the sidebar for admins and for that guild's lead and staff, marked Hidden, so a guild being set up is easy to find.
Everyone else still sees no trace of it, and its page now says Not Found to them instead of opening by direct link.

Nov 1, 2026

Add an image to an announcement

When you write an announcement, you can add one image under your message, like a poster or a call for work.
It shows above your message in the email, in the Discord post, and on your guild page.

Nov 1, 2026

A Walkthrough button on every guild tool

Guild Settings, Cubbies, Email Members, Orientations and Reservations each have a Walkthrough button that takes you through that tool, as often as you like.
The guild page shows it too, for the guild's staff and admins only.

Nov 1, 2026

New guild leads and staff get a welcome email

When someone is made a guild lead or joins a guild's staff, they get an email that maps their Guild Staff Tools and the rules for running the guild through the Member Portal.
Everyone already leading or staffing a guild gets the same welcome once.

Nov 1, 2026

New guild staff confirm the rules, then get a tour

A new guild lead or staff member sees the guild rules on their next visit and confirms they have read them before going on.
Then a glowing Take the Tour button stays on screen until they take the Guild Staff Tools tour or press Exit.
While that tour is waiting, Home holds back the members' tour banner, so only one tour is offered at a time.
A Guild Staff Rules and Tools wiki article spells out the rules and where every tool lives. Members can read it; only admins can edit it.

Nov 1, 2026

Change your live class without asking an admin

On a live class, Edit now lets you change the title, class type, price, capacity, location and minimum age yourself.
Only the dates still go through an admin: press Request a change to ask.

Nov 1, 2026

Post a guild announcement to the guild page only

When you write a guild announcement, turn off Push notification, Email and Post to Discord to post it only at the top of your guild page.
Nobody is notified, and the composer tells you so before you post.

Oct 31, 2026

What's New has a For Instructors tab

What's New now has four tabs: For Members, For Instructors, For Guild Staff and For Admins. Everyone sees all four.
Changes made for teaching sit on For Instructors instead of under For Members with an Instructors label.

Oct 31, 2026

Open buttons say where they go

Every Open button in What's New now names its destination, like Open Email Members or Open Teaching, so you know where you are headed before you press it.
When a change names the exact control, Open takes you to that page and rings the control in gold with a short note. Press anywhere or Esc to clear it.
An entry about the page you are already on says Show me instead, which closes What's New and rings the control right there.

Oct 31, 2026

What's New walks you through a change in pictures

An entry with pictures shows them one step at a time, with a caption under each. Press Next, the arrow keys or a step in the list to move.
Tap a picture to see it full size.

Oct 30, 2026

Every page a New! mark leads to has its own What's New button

Follow a New! mark to the Calendar, Classes, Guild Voting, your guild's settings, the Wiki, Feedback, your Settings or any Admin Tools page and the sparkles button is in the page header, so what is new there is one click away.

Oct 30, 2026

Email everyone who took your classes

In Email Members, instructors can pick My past students to email everyone who took any of their classes, once each.
You can uncheck anyone before sending. It never posts to Discord.
Every email ends with a link that stops your emails to that person. Other instructors can still reach them.

Oct 30, 2026

Show one of your classes in an email to past students

Teaching, My Classes has an Email Students button. It opens the email on My Past Students, and each of your classes is listed right under it to email that class instead.
When you email My Past Students, pick a class under Feature a class.
The email shows its photo, short description, next date (or Flexible scheduling), price and a Register button.
Only your published classes with an upcoming date or flexible scheduling are listed. Leave it blank to send no card.

Oct 30, 2026

Write the subject line of an email to members

Email Members has a Subject box above the message. What you write there is the email's subject, the notification's title and the Discord post's title, so three emails in a week no longer all read "Writers Guild Announcement".
Leave it blank and the usual title is used, exactly as before.

Oct 30, 2026

Email Members sends once, however many times you tap Send

Tapping Yes, send it locks the button and shows Sending... until the email is on its way, so a second tap cannot send it again.
If the same email is sent again within a minute, by a retry or a page refresh, it still goes out once.

Oct 29, 2026

What's New shows what shipped for you

Press What's New in the Home header to see what changed, on three tabs: For Members, For Guild Staff and For Admins.
Each entry says what is different and, when it belongs to a feature you can use, has an Open it button that takes you there.
A dot on the button means something new is waiting for you. It goes away once you have looked.

Oct 29, 2026

Guild voting says when your vote was not saved

If you pick the same guild twice, the voting page now says your vote was not saved, names the guild, and marks the choice to change.
Error boxes on portal forms are easier to read, most of all in the light theme.

Oct 29, 2026

New! marks what just shipped, and every tools page has a What's New button

A small New! mark sits on a tab, a card, a quick link or a sidebar link while something there is new for you. Open the thing and the mark goes away.
A sparkles button on your guild's page, beside the Join or Member button, and beside the title of Admin Tools and Guild Tools opens What's New for just that part of the portal. It pulses while something there is waiting for you.
Open What's New once and its button settles down, whichever tab you read, until the next release brings something new.

Oct 29, 2026

Cubbies are run by the guild's own lead and staff

A guild's shelves, prices, rentals and waitlist are managed by that guild's lead and staff, and by Past Lives admins.
Guild Officers no longer reach the cubbies of guilds they do not lead or staff. Everything else they do is unchanged.

Oct 28, 2026

Get in line for a guild cubby

When every cubby in a guild is taken, tap Notify Me When One Opens on the Cubbies tab to join the list.
When a cubby opens, the next person in line gets an email. Whoever rents it first gets it.
You can see your place in line and leave the list any time.
Guild staff see who is waiting on the Rentals tab and can take someone off the list.

Oct 27, 2026

Message the managers about a reservation

Each equipment reservation now has a conversation. Ask the equipment managers a question, add photos, and get a notice when they answer.
A New message tag shows on any reservation with a reply you have not read.
When a reservation is declined or cancelled by a manager, their reason shows in the conversation too.

Oct 27, 2026

Message your Orientor about an orientation

Each orientation booking now has a conversation. Ask your Orientor a question, add photos, and get a notice when they reply.
Orientors can reply from the booking, and a decline or a new proposed time comes with their note in the same conversation.
Notes written before today show as the first messages.

Oct 27, 2026

Talk with your reviewers about a class

Each class now has a conversation between its instructors and the people who review it, with photos.
When a reviewer asks for changes, their note shows in the conversation, and you can reply right there without submitting again.
Earlier review notes show as the first messages.

Oct 27, 2026

Printmaking is now a Class Type

When you write a class, the Class Type list now includes Printmaking and Prison Outreach.
Every active guild gets its own Class Type on its own, so a new guild shows up in the list without anyone adding it by hand.

Oct 27, 2026

Guilds can rent out cubbies

A guild can turn on a Cubbies tab that draws its shelves and shows which cubbies are open.
Rent an open cubby right from the tab: pick what you pay each month, at or above the guild's minimum. Paying more helps the guild.
Your Cubby shows your next charge and lets you change your amount, update your card or cancel.
Guild staff see every rental, assign a cubby by hand, end a rental and download the list.
Most of each cubby payment goes to the guild.

Oct 27, 2026

Talk back and forth on your feedback requests

Each request on the Feedback page now has a conversation. When the team replies, you get a notice, and you can reply back.
You can add more photos or screenshots with any reply.
Every earlier note from the team shows as the first message in its conversation.

Oct 27, 2026

Feedback requests can be closed

When the team closes your request, or marks a bug report as not a bug, you get a notice with a note on what to do instead.
You can still reply on a closed request if you need more help.

Oct 27, 2026

Reconciliation counts a share as owed only once its class has happened

On Reconciliation, Owed manually is now two columns: Owed now and Not yet due.
Owed now is what to pay instructors, orientors and equipment managers by hand: shares whose class, orientation or reservation happened at least 48 hours ago. Each one counts in the dates it fell due, even if the payment came in an earlier month.
A share whose class has not happened yet shows as Not yet due, with the day it falls due. That includes shares Stripe will send: Sent through Stripe now counts only transfers Stripe has made or is making.
A transfer Stripe is retrying shows in its own red Stripe retrying column, not in Owed now. Do not pay it by hand: Stripe keeps trying.
The CSV and the print page have the same two columns.

Oct 27, 2026

Admins manage a member's guild roles from their page

On Manage Members, a member's Permissions tab now lists every guild they lead or help run, with a Class Reviewer switch for each.
From there an admin can add them to any guild's staff, change or remove a title, make them a guild lead or remove them as one. Every change shows on the guild's Staff tab too.
To make someone a Class Reviewer on a guild they are not on yet, pick the guild and turn Class Reviewer on: one click adds them.
On a guild's Staff tab, the guild lead and admins can now turn Class Reviewer on while adding someone, and the switch beside each name is easier to spot.

Oct 27, 2026

Orientors are called Orientors everywhere

The people who run orientations are now called Orientors on every page, email, notification and help article, instead of the mix of Orienter and Orientator you may have seen.

Oct 27, 2026

A draft class now says In draft

On a class page, a class that has not been sent for review shows In draft with a gray dot instead of a gold dot beside Submitted.
Submitted shows only once the class really has been sent for review.

Oct 26, 2026

Spotlight messages crawl at a slower, steadier pace

The Spotlight messages across the top of Home now move at half their old speed, so they are easier to read.
Admins can set the speed with a slider in Admin Tools, Spotlight, and watch a preview before it saves.

Oct 26, 2026

Guild pages always show what's coming up next

A guild's Next Meeting card now shows whatever the guild has coming up, like studio hours or a potluck, with its name.
Guild leads and staff get a note in their inbox when their guild has nothing coming up. It goes away once something is set.

Oct 26, 2026

Guild pages show just the latest announcement

A guild page now shows only its newest announcement, in a smaller card. Long posts fold up with a Read more button.
Bullet lists and paragraphs in announcements now show the way they were written.
A Past Announcements link opens everything the guild has posted, newest first.

Oct 26, 2026

Discord announcements reach Home and guild pages

When someone pings everyone or a guild in Discord, an admin can approve the message and it crawls across the top of Home for a week, with the guild's name and who said it.
Guild pings also show up in that guild's Announcements on its page.

Oct 26, 2026

Upcoming on Home rotates through everything coming up

The big card at the top of Upcoming now shows whatever is next on the list. Every few seconds the list slides up: the next item grows into the big card and the one before it moves to the bottom.
Everything on the list takes a turn: classes, events, guild meetings, studio hours and your orientations.
Events and classes without a photo get a poster with a big calendar date and the title, instead of a shrunken flyer. The Flyer button is still there.
Each kind has its own color, on the poster and in the list.

Oct 26, 2026

Hide the poll on Home once you have voted

The Poll on Home now has a Hide button that folds it to one line, and Show opens it again. Once you have voted it starts folded, and your choice is remembered for each poll.
The Poll now sits near the bottom of Home, just above Get The App.
The Past Polls tile is gone from the quick links; See Past Polls under the poll takes you there.
Arrow links across the portal, and the Show Me Around button, now use Title Case.

Oct 26, 2026

Spotlight messages now scroll quietly across the top of Home

Spotlight messages now glide across one slim line at the top of Home, like a news ticker, instead of a big yellow banner. Hover over it to hold it still and click a link. The X hides it until a new message arrives.
The top left of the portal now always shows the version, when it was last updated and Details, without messages.
The Feature Request Meeting no longer shows in the Spotlight or in Details.
On Admin Tools, Instructor Inquiries is now under Tools and Manage Mailing Lists is under Manage.

Oct 25, 2026

Write your own answer in a poll

Whoever posts a poll can turn on Let members write their own answer.
On those polls you can write an answer instead of picking one. It counts as your one vote.
Post anonymously is on by default. Turn it off to show your name beside your answer.
Everyone who sees the results sees the written answers under the counts, each with a name or Anonymous.

Oct 25, 2026

Guilds can ask their members a poll

A guild page has a Polls tab once the guild has a poll. Any member can vote there once, and the results show right away.
Guild leads, guild staff, guild officers and admins post and close a guild's polls from that tab. One poll is open per guild at a time.
Past Polls now shows guild polls too, each labelled with its guild.
A new poll is written the way members will see it: type the question and each answer in place, pick how long it runs, then Post Poll. Same on Admin Tools, Polls.

Oct 25, 2026

Polls are back on Home

While a poll is open, Home shows a Poll card. Tap an answer to vote and the results show right away.
You vote once per poll, and votes are anonymous: nobody sees who picked what.
Past Polls, linked from Home at all times, lists every closed poll with its results and your own answer.
Admins post and close polls from Admin Tools, Polls.

Oct 25, 2026

Guild Tools for guild leads, staff and officers

If you help run a guild, the sidebar now says Guild Tools. It opens your guild's settings, orientations, reservations and events, plus Email Members, Manage Mailing Lists and your guild's reports.
If you help run more than one guild, pick the guild at the top of the page.
Admins, instructors and other staff still see Admin Tools, and members with no staff role see no tools entry.

Oct 23, 2026

Member Agreement, Automations, Manage Features and Manage CMS get their own cards

Admin Tools now has its own cards for Member Agreement, Automations, Manage Features and Manage CMS, each opening its own page.
Site Settings keeps the brand, sign in and registration, calendar feeds, emails and the Discord connection.
Old links to those Site Settings tabs take you to the new pages.

Oct 23, 2026

Email Members, Mailing Lists and Spotlight messages

The tool for emailing a class, a guild or everyone is now called Email Members. It still posts to Discord and sends an app notification.
Email Members has a Mailing Lists tab that opens your guild's mailing list, and a Manage Mailing Lists card goes straight to it.
The short rotating notices on Home and in the Spotlight are now called Spotlight messages.

Oct 23, 2026

More staff requests come once a day

Requests for spaces, discount codes, events, guild announcements, meeting items, wiki pages and teaching, and class change requests, now reach approvers in the 8 AM email instead of one email each.
A request someone already handled is left out of that email, and its notice in the app is marked read.
Orientation requests still arrive right away, because many are for the next day or two.

Oct 23, 2026

Admins can see what emails are about to go out

Site Activity has a new Email Queue tab: what is waiting for the 8 AM review email, the reminders going out in the next 24 hours, and the morning emails sent this week.
Each waiting item says whether it will be sent, left out because someone already handled it, or skipped because that person turned the email off.
Site Settings, Emails now says which emails send right away and which wait for the 8 AM email.

Oct 23, 2026

Class review requests come once a day

Guild leads and Class Reviewers now get one email at 8 AM listing every class still waiting on them, instead of an email for each class.
A class someone already approved is left out, and its notice in the app is marked read.
Remind lead adds a reminder to that morning email instead of sending a new one.

Oct 23, 2026

Read your guild's meeting notes on the guild page

Your guild's meeting notes, files and links now show on the guild page's Meetings tab, newest meeting first.
Guild leads keep posting notes from their guild's edit page; the Meetings tab gives them an Edit notes button to get there.

Oct 23, 2026

Location lights take less room, and guilds can hide them

On a guild page, the free, starting soon and in use lights for each location now sit side by side instead of one per row.
Guild Settings has a new switch to hide the location lights from the guild page.

Oct 23, 2026

Announcements in the Spotlight

The Spotlight in the top left of every portal page now shows the current announcements, taking turns, where the weekly poll used to be.
When it is minimized, its first line is the announcement, and the yellow dot lights up when a new one is posted.
Pause any of the moving announcements or the Upcoming carousel and it stays paused on every page until you press play or log out.

Oct 23, 2026

Announcements at the top of Home

Short announcements now show in a banner at the top of Home, taking turns every few seconds.
Close the banner and it stays closed until there is something new.
Admins write them in Admin Tools, under Spotlight: up to 160 characters with bold, italics and links, optional start and end dates, and drag to set the order.

Oct 23, 2026

Home shows upcoming classes and events in a rotating carousel

The top of the Upcoming card on Home now rotates through a mix of classes you can still book and events still to come, with their pictures.
It moves every few seconds; hover to hold it, or use the arrows, dots and pause button.
An event without a photo shows its printable flyer instead, with a Flyer button to open it.

Oct 22, 2026

Class Reviewers can approve classes they teach

A guild staff member marked Class Reviewer now gets the review request for every class in the guild, including the ones they teach.
They can approve, request changes on or deny their own class, the same as the guild lead.

Oct 21, 2026

Admins can put an event on the calendar before announcing it

A new switch on the event composer publishes the event to the calendar without the Discord post, bell, email or reminders.
Manage Events marks those events Not announced, with an Announce now button for when it is time to tell members.

Oct 21, 2026

Event pages get a new look with a people count

Every public event page opens with a large photo, the date and the place, and a Get directions link.
The page shows how many people are going, and an event with an RSVP goal shows how close it is to reaching it.
Members see who is going right on the page.

Oct 20, 2026

Tabs on your phone show every section at a glance

On a phone, rows of tabs that used to slide sideways are now one button showing where you are and how many sections there are, like 2 of 5. Tap it to see them all.
On a class you teach, the Overview lists every other section with a short note on what it holds, so the Eventbrite tab is easy to find. Other sections show a link back to the class Overview.
Nothing changes on a computer.

Oct 20, 2026

Show me around moves under the Home welcome

On Home, the Show me around button now sits under the welcome message instead of beside the door code, and it goes away once you have taken or closed the tour. You can always take the tour again from the Guided Tours card on the Help page.
On a computer screen the welcome fits on one line and the door code box lines up with it.

Oct 20, 2026

Class and announcement steps fit your phone

On a phone, the steps along the top of the class builder and the announcement composer no longer slide off the side. They are one button showing which step you are on, like 3 of 6. Tap it to see every step.
Each step in that list keeps its tick when it is done and a red dot when it needs a fix.
Nothing else changes on a computer.
On a class page, Edit now takes the instructor to the class Overview, the same page Cancel in the class editor goes back to. Every section of the class is there, and its own Edit opens the editor.

Oct 20, 2026

New class posts in Discord show the details and photos

When a new class goes live, its post in #classes now shows the description, when it meets, how long it runs, where, who teaches it, the price and how many spots it has.
The post also shows the class photo and up to three gallery photos.

Oct 20, 2026

The Face ID sign in card is readable in light mode

In light mode, the "Sign In Faster Next Time" and "You're All Set" cards showed their heading in black on dark blue. It is white now, like in dark mode.

Oct 20, 2026

Push notifications on iPhone

Push notifications now work in the iPhone app as well as on Android. Update the app, then turn push on under Settings, Notifications.
If push cannot be turned on for your phone, Push On This Device now says so, with the reason, instead of saying it is on.

Oct 20, 2026

Face ID only asks when you sign in

In the iPhone app, Face ID no longer pops up as you move around the hub while you are already signed in.
Turning on Face ID sign in now checks your face once and tells you it is on.
If you cancel Face ID on the sign in page, it lets you try again or use an emailed code, instead of saying something went wrong.

Oct 20, 2026

Leaders can move an orientation without a refund

When a booked orientation time does not work, a guild leader or equipment manager can now move it to another time. Your payment stays with the booking, so there is nothing to refund and nothing to pay again.
The leader either moves it right away, and you get an email with the new time and an updated calendar invite, or asks you first, and you tap Accept new time or Keep my current time from the email or your orientation card.
If your orientation was moved for you and the new time does not work, cancelling it never carries a late cancellation fee, and you still get a full refund.

Oct 19, 2026

Saving a new event no longer times out

Publishing an event for the whole makerspace now saves in a few seconds. Before, a big send could make the save look like it failed, and saving again posted the event twice.
Members still hear about each new event once, by bell, email and Discord, right after it is saved.

Oct 19, 2026

Anyone can RSVP to an event, no account needed

A public event page takes an RSVP from anyone with a name and an email, for up to six people. Members still RSVP with one tap and can say how many they are bringing.
Signing up again with the same email updates the RSVP instead of adding a second one.
Manage Events has a Guest list tab: search, check guests in at the door, add someone by hand, copy the emails of guests who want updates, or download the list.

Oct 18, 2026

Event pages get a cropped photo, a gallery and formatted text

Whoever edits a Calendar event can crop its photo, add up to ten gallery photos and a video link, and format the description the way class pages are written.
Event pages show the photo, the gallery and the video. Discord, Google Calendar and the calendar list keep plain text.

Oct 18, 2026

Manage Events joins Admin Tools

Admins and Calendar Administrators see every Calendar event in one place: what is waiting for a review, what is scheduled, what is live and what has passed.
Each event has its own page with Approve, Request changes, Decline, Duplicate, Unpublish and Delete.
An unpublished event comes off the Calendar, Google Calendar and Discord, and goes back on without a second announcement when it is published again.

Oct 18, 2026

Members can be given permission to add Calendar events

Admins can turn on Can create events for a member on their Permissions tab. That member then sees + Add event on the Calendar.
An event added this way waits for a Calendar Administrator to look it over before it is announced.
Calendar Administrators can now edit, delete and retry the calendar sync on events for the whole makerspace.

Oct 18, 2026

The wiki shows the pages waiting for someone to write them

The wiki home has a Pages Waiting For You list: pages with their sections ready and nothing written yet. Tap one to start writing.
Recently Updated now lists only pages someone has actually written in.
On a wiki page, Edit comes first. Print, History and the guild tools moved into a More menu.

Oct 18, 2026

Wiki pages get panels, checklists and settings boxes

The wiki editor has a Panel menu: Info, Tip, Warning and Danger boxes, so a safety rule stands out instead of hiding in a paragraph.
New buttons for a checklist, a settings box for machine settings or recipes, and a divider line.
New pages start with a Danger, Tip or checklist line where it helps, with a hint inside. Anything you leave empty stays off the page.
The filter buttons on the wiki home no longer sit on top of a line.

Oct 16, 2026

New members get an easier way to take the tour

If you haven't taken the member tour yet, Home now opens with a Take the tour banner. Close it if you'd rather skip it.
Take the tour is now an optional step in the Get Started checklist.

Oct 16, 2026

Each date of a single class can be booked on its own

When a single class was given several dates, one sign up covered every date, and the later dates could not be booked once the first one passed. Each date now goes live as its own run of the class, so you pick the date that works for you from the other dates on the class page.
The Make a Sushi Set and Make a Cup classes with Anjali are split this way, one date each.

Oct 15, 2026

Moving a discount code shows which class run is which

When an admin re-assigns a discount code, each class in the list shows its date and whether it is a draft or waiting for review, so two runs of the same class are easy to tell apart.
The instructor list shows only current instructors. Former members and deleted accounts no longer appear.

Oct 15, 2026

Classes waiting too long for review now raise an alarm

When a submitted class has waited 3 days or more for a review decision, it shows in red on the admin class queue and on Home for the people who can review it, with how long it has waited and how soon it starts.
The member portal alerts channel on Discord gets a post about it, and another every 3 days while it keeps waiting.

Oct 15, 2026

Guild leads choose who reviews their classes

On a guild's Staff tab, the guild lead can switch a staff member on as a Class Reviewer. Class review requests and reminders now go only to the guild lead and those reviewers, not to every staff member.
Nobody is asked to review a class they teach, unless they are the guild lead.
Instructors can now press Remind lead while their class waits for review, Duplicate their own class at any time, and Delete a draft right from the class editor.

Oct 14, 2026

The update date no longer runs into Details

With no poll open and no meeting coming up, the date of the last update under the version is smaller, so it stays clear of the Details button.

Oct 14, 2026

The door code is on your Home page

Active members see the current door code on Home, with the date it last changed.
Admins change the code right from that card, and everyone sees the new one on their next visit.

Oct 14, 2026

The door code stays hidden until you tap it

On a wide screen, the door code now sits in a small box at the top of Home instead of taking a whole row.
Everywhere, the code shows as dots until you tap Tap to reveal, and Tap to hide covers it again, so it is not on show when your screen is open.

Oct 14, 2026

Notification settings save themselves

Each switch on the Notifications page saves the moment you flip it. A spinner shows while it saves and a green Saved! confirms it, so there is no Save button to miss.
Instructors: the email for a new signup in your class is always sent, and its switch now shows a padlock to say so.
Instructors get every instructor email turned on, and so does anyone who becomes an instructor from now on.

Oct 13, 2026

Tapping a sign in button twice no longer shows an error

After the first tap, the Verify, Send code, Sign up and Log out buttons lock and show that they are working. A quick double tap used to show a Forbidden error page even though you were signed in, or send a second login code.

Oct 13, 2026

Class Catalog is now called Classes

The sidebar entry, the home page link and the Help Center now say Classes instead of Class Catalog.
The class list's heading reads Classes at Past Lives.

Oct 13, 2026

The Growth page counts from the real launch

The Growth page now counts from September 21, 2026, the day the Member Portal went live, so testing before launch no longer shows up as growth.
A new Since CMS Launch range starts on October 1, 2026, the day classes moved into the portal.
Class signups are labeled New System or Old System, so the signups imported from the old class site are easy to tell apart.

Oct 13, 2026

Eventbrite descriptions lose the extra gaps

Class descriptions on Eventbrite no longer show a blank line between every paragraph. They now read the same as on our own class page.

Oct 13, 2026

Admins send announcements to All Instructors

Admins can pick All Instructors as the audience for an announcement, next to Everyone and Guild leads.
It reaches every active member who is approved to teach, listed as an instructor on a class, or has an instructor page, including instructors who have not signed in to the app yet.

Oct 13, 2026

Add Inquiry takes every member it lists

On Instructor Inquiries, Add Inquiry now saves for every member in its list. Before, some members could not be saved even after being picked.
The member list in Add Inquiry now scrolls inside the window and narrows as you type, in every browser.
Record Orientation and Give Credit accept those same members too.

Oct 13, 2026

A clearer Eventbrite tab

The Eventbrite tab on each class now reads in sections: where the listing stands, Eventbrite's rules as a short list, the fees, your settings, and turning it off.
Fees show Eventbrite's rates in bold and work out what the buyer pays and what the class receives at the price the ticket sells for, both ways the fee can be paid.

Oct 13, 2026

A Growth page for admins

Admins have a new Growth page under Admin Tools that charts how the Member Portal has grown since it went live: new members, class signups, classes published, CMS activity, reservations and more.
Pick a date range and a metric, see each total against the period before, and download any chart as a picture.

Oct 13, 2026

Admins add instructor inquiries by hand

Admins can add an inquiry on the Instructor Inquiries page for a member who reached out by email or in person, with the date they got in touch, so every would be instructor is tracked in one place.

Oct 13, 2026

A proper application to host a class

I'm Interested on the Host a Class page now opens a full application instead of a short pop up.
It asks about your class idea, how long you have practiced the craft, where you have taught, what you would need at Past Lives, a comfortable class size and when you could teach, so Lee knows you before your instructor training.
Website and social media fields only ask for an address once you say you have one.
Admins see every answer on the Instructor Inquiries page and in its export.

Oct 12, 2026

Instructor cards keep their distance

On a class taught by more than one person, the cards introducing each teacher no longer touch each other.

Oct 12, 2026

View all on Manage Bookings opens the Bookings tab

If you lead or staff a guild, or manage a piece of equipment: View all under Needs a Reply or Needs Approval on Manage Bookings opens the Bookings tab it names, and a member's name there opens their request, instead of a blank page.
The chips above the table on the Orientations and Reservations Bookings tabs keep the page around them: the header, the tabs and the sidebar no longer vanish.

Oct 12, 2026

Hours of credit on equipment you pay for by the hour

A manager can give you hours of credit on a piece of equipment, for time you paid for and did not use or for an approved shop project. You get an email when they do.
The next time you book that equipment, you see your credit and it comes off what you pay. If your credit covers the whole time, you reserve without paying.
If you cancel, or a manager declines your request, the credit you used comes back to you. Anything you paid is refunded as before.
Managers give and take back credit on the equipment's Manage page, under Reservations, and can credit unused time from a reservation's menu on the Bookings tab.

Oct 12, 2026

Finish early on hourly equipment and keep the time you did not use

On equipment you pay for by the hour, once your reservation has started you can end it whenever you are done, where the managers have turned this on.
The time you did not use comes back as credit on that equipment for your next booking, rounded up to the half hour in your favor.
There is no fee and no refund. The freed time opens up for other members.

Oct 11, 2026

Asking an admin for a change sends once

On a live class, the Send button for a note to the admins reads Sending... while the note goes out, and sending the same note again within an hour reaches the admins once instead of once per tap.

Oct 11, 2026

Add a co-instructor to a live class

An instructor can add another instructor to a class that is already live, from its edit page. The person added can edit the class and see who registered.

Oct 11, 2026

Every instructor is named everywhere a class is

Emails about a class, the weekly Discord digest, the printable flyer, your receipts and your My Classes cards now name every instructor of a class, not only the first.
In the hub, a class's screens and the Manage Classes list show every instructor, and admins can search by any of their names.

Oct 11, 2026

Classes name every instructor

A class taught by two or more people now names each of them on its page and on its card in the catalog, with a link to each instructor's page where they have one.
Each instructor's page lists the classes they co-teach, and the catalog's instructor filter finds a class under any of its instructors.
Every instructor of a class gets the new registration and review decision notices.

Oct 11, 2026

A class can have more than one instructor

When you write up a class, the Basics step now has an Instructors list. Add anyone with teaching access, and they can edit the class, submit it for review and see who registered, just as you can.
A class you co-teach shows up in your Manage My Classes and on your home page's Teaching card.
Admins pick a class's instructors from the same list; the old single Instructor box is gone.

Oct 11, 2026

The Classes list shows the waiting for review count once

On Manage All Classes, the yellow pill next to My Classes is gone. The Needs review filter already shows that count and opens the list.

Oct 11, 2026

Orienters can mark a day off

On a guild's Orientations page, or an equipment Manage page, each orienter now has a Days Off button beside Edit Hours. Pick a date and none of your orientation times that day can be booked, in every guild and on every piece of equipment, however far ahead the day is.
Saving a day off cancels every time you already had that day. Anyone booked gets the usual cancellation email, and the button tells you how many before you save.
Delete a day off and your regular hours that day come back with the next overnight update. Your upcoming days off are listed under your hours.

Oct 11, 2026

Manage Bookings: one place for everyone who runs orientations or equipment

If you lead or staff a guild, or manage a piece of equipment, the sidebar now has a Manage Bookings entry, right after Reservations.
It opens on what needs your reply: orientation requests waiting on you and reservations awaiting your approval, with Confirm, Decline and Approve right there.
Below that, a card for each guild and piece of equipment you run, with its state, its orientations and links to its Orientations page, Manage panel and Bookings.
Your own published hours sit at the bottom, with Edit Hours for each guild or tool.

Oct 11, 2026

Guild leads can ask for notice before an orientation

Guild leads and staff can set a Booking notice on their guild's Orientations page: how many hours ahead members must book an orientation. 0 keeps things as they are.
Times inside that notice are no longer offered, and each orientation says how far ahead to book it.
Leads and staff can still add a member to any time by hand.

Oct 11, 2026

Discount codes can be re-assigned to one class, an instructor's classes or everywhere

On the Discount Codes page, each code now has an Actions menu: approve, edit, re-assign or delete it from one place.
Re-assign points an existing code at one class, at every class one instructor teaches (including classes added later), or back at every class, without making a new code. Its approval, dates and uses stay as they were.
A new Scope column shows where each code works, and a class's Discount Codes tab, the class editor's Discounts step and an instructor's My Discount Codes page show a code aimed at the instructor with their name.

Oct 11, 2026

Instructors get a resources card on their Teaching page

Admins keep a list of links under Class Settings, Instructor Resources: the review link, the release and liability forms, anything else instructors need.
Every instructor sees those links in a card at the bottom of their Teaching page, each opening in a new tab.

Oct 10, 2026

Repeating events keep their time in Discord

When the clocks change, a repeating event in Discord's Events tab stays at the time you set instead of shifting an hour.
A repeating event edited after its first date reaches Discord again. Two guild meetings had been failing to update there since their first dates.
A Discord event that was removed by hand is recreated from the portal instead of the update failing quietly.

Oct 10, 2026

Ways to Qualify take up less room

On the equipment Details tab, each way now shows only the orientations it needs. Click Edit to change them.

Oct 10, 2026

Equipment can charge for reservations

Managers set what a reservation costs on the Hours and Limits tab: free, donation based, or an hourly rate, and pick which manager gets paid for it.
You see the price before you book. A priced reservation is paid by card when you reserve, and the time is held while you pay.
If a reservation is declined or cancelled, a paid reservation is refunded in full on its own.

Oct 9, 2026

Equipment Details tab uses the full width

For equipment managers: on an equipment's Manage page, the Details tab now spans the page like Staff, Hours and Limits, Reservations and Orientation.

Oct 9, 2026

Monthly evening events keep their day in Discord

A monthly event that meets in the evening, like the First Friday Art Walk, showed up in Discord's event list on the wrong week from its second month on. Discord now shows its next date, and the portal posts the following one after each passes.

Oct 9, 2026

Equipment can require a manager's approval for reservations

Managers turn on Needs approval on the Hours and Limits tab. From then on each reservation waits for a manager to approve or decline it, and the time is held while they decide.
You get an email when you send a request, when it is approved (with the calendar invite) and when it is declined (with the reason).
Managers see what is waiting at the top of the Reservations tab and in the Bookings tab, with Approve and Decline right there.

Oct 9, 2026

Each live class has an Eventbrite tab

Manage This Class has a new Eventbrite tab on live classes, for the instructor and admins. It shows where the class stands: not on Eventbrite, queued, listed, failed or taken down.
Validate Listing for Eventbrite checks the class against Eventbrite's rules. Once it passes, Submit Listing to Eventbrite lists it straight away and records that you agree to the rules.
A listed class has a Published on Eventbrite switch. Turning it off asks first, then unpublishes the event, or closes sales when tickets were already sold there.
Who pays Eventbrite's fee and the Eventbrite category moved to this tab. The live class edit page links to it.
Lines like "Payment, no checks please, at the door" are now caught as payment outside the ticket.

Oct 9, 2026

Equipment can ask for one orientation, or a set of them

Equipment managers now list ways to qualify on the Details tab. Each way is one or more orientations, and a member can reserve once they finish every orientation in any one way.
So the CNC Machine can take either its full 6 hour orientation or both of its 3 hour sessions.
The equipment page and the wiki say which orientations are left, and mark the ones you have done.

Oct 9, 2026

Equipment notices reach only the people who run that equipment

When someone asks for an orientation on a piece of equipment, or reserves it, the email and the bell go to that equipment's managers and its guild's lead and staff. Nobody else gets the email or the bell.
Equipment Administrators are told only about equipment with no managers and no guild leaders, so a request never goes unanswered.

Oct 9, 2026

Classes are checked against Eventbrite's rules before they sell there

The last page of the class editor has a Submit to Eventbrite box, with Eventbrite's rules beside it. Ticking it is your agreement to those rules, and the class lists on Eventbrite when it goes live.
Once ticked, the class is checked as you type: a green Ready for Eventbrite badge, or a list of what to fix, quoting the words. Who pays Eventbrite's fee and the category show there too.
Saving is stopped while the class asks for payment outside the ticket, lists a fee not included in the price, names a discount code, or has a link, email, phone number or handle in the title.
Links, emails, phone numbers, social handles and cancellation or refund questions are listed as left out of Eventbrite, and are removed from the listing on the way out.
If a class fails the check when it goes live, nothing is sent to Eventbrite and the instructor gets an email listing what to fix, with a link to Request a Change.

Oct 9, 2026

The version and Details sit with the Member Portal name

With no poll open and no meeting coming up, the version, the date of the last update and Details now sit in one card with the Member Portal name, above the menu's dividing line, with more room around Details.

Oct 9, 2026

A calmer top left when there is no poll or meeting

With no poll open and no meeting coming up, the top left of the Member Portal shrinks to the version number, the date of the last update and a Details button.

Oct 9, 2026

Usage agreements for equipment

Some equipment now asks you to agree to its usage agreement once, after your orientation and before your first reservation. Read it in the pop up, check the box, click I agree, and you can book right away.
You are only asked again if the agreement changes.
For equipment managers: add a link to the agreement, its text, or both on the Details tab of the Manage page. Any change asks everyone to agree again, and the page tells you how many members that is.

Oct 9, 2026

Ask for your own orientation time on equipment

When a tool like the CNC Machine has no open orientation times, members can now propose a time and leave a note, the same way guild orientations already work. A manager of that tool confirms it.
Equipment managers turn this on or off with the new Let members propose their own orientation time switch on the Orientation tab. It starts on.
Priced orientations still take payment first, and donation orientations still ask for an amount.

Oct 9, 2026

Orientations are easier to manage

What used to be called Orientation Types are now just Orientations, everywhere.
On equipment and guild orientation pages, each orientation shows as one line with its photo, length and price. Press Edit to open it.
The Add New Orientation + button now sits at the top right of the Orientations card.

Oct 9, 2026

Clearer equipment settings for managers

Opening hours show as one line each (days and times) with an Edit button, instead of every form open at once.
Equipment now has an Active switch in its own Availability card: on means members can reserve it. The closed message only shows when it is off.
Every limit has a question mark tooltip explaining it, including how far ahead members can book.
The Reservations tab's cards are spaced properly, and the late cancellation fees card explains what it lists.

Oct 9, 2026

Post announcements on Discord under your own name

If your Discord is linked to the portal, a new Post on Discord as me switch in the announcement composer shows your Discord name and picture on the post instead of Past Lives Makerspace.
The Discord preview shows how it will look. Discord still marks the post as coming from an app.

Oct 9, 2026

Add many people to an announcement at once

When writing a guild or class announcement, Add people opens a searchable list where you can tick as many members as you like and add them in one click.
You can also paste several email addresses at once.
Everyone you add to a guild announcement is saved to that guild's mailing list, so they are already ticked next time, for every lead. Remove people in Guild Settings.

Oct 9, 2026

Announcements keep their paragraphs on Discord and in the portal

Paragraph breaks you write in an announcement now show on Discord, in the Discord preview, on your Notifications page and on the guild page, not only in the email.
Bullet lists show one item per line.

Oct 9, 2026

The member directory shows staff titles

Member directory cards now show a person's titles from the Leadership Directory, right under their name.
The member type that used to read Employee now reads Staff.

Oct 9, 2026

Instagram videos on class pages show their picture

When a class links an Instagram video, its class page now shows the post's picture with a play button instead of a plain link. Tap it to watch on Instagram.
A newly added Instagram link gets its picture within about 15 minutes.

Oct 9, 2026

Every class shows the same cancellation and accessibility answers

The cancellation policy and the accessibility answer now come first on every class page, worded the same everywhere.
Instructors see both questions in the class editor but can no longer change them. They can still reword the other questions and add their own.

Oct 9, 2026

Class descriptions lose their extra blank lines

A blank line typed between paragraphs in a class description no longer shows as a big double gap on the class page.
The same goes for orientation info pages and the emails written in the same editor, like class welcome and reminder emails.

Oct 9, 2026

Class photos show their true colors

The photo at the top of a class page no longer has a blue tint over it. The lower part darkens a little instead, so the class name stays easy to read.

Oct 8, 2026

Guild pages link to their members instead of listing them

A guild page's Members card no longer lists every name. It opens the Member Directory showing just that guild's members.

Oct 8, 2026

The Spotlight: this week's poll and the next Feature Request Meeting, top left

The top left of the Member Portal now shows this week's poll and the next Feature Request Meeting. Tap an answer to vote, right there.
Tap Details for more: the poll's results, the meeting with Join online and Add to calendar, and buttons to suggest a feature or report a bug.
Tap the minus to shrink it to two short lines. It stays that way until you open it again, and a yellow dot shows when there is a new poll, a new meeting date or new words in the Spotlight.
With no poll open, the Spotlight shows the latest update instead. Tap it to read what changed.
What changed, at the bottom of Details, lists every update five at a time. On a phone, the Spotlight sits at the top of Home.

Oct 8, 2026

Vote in polls and see every past poll

When a poll is open, tap an answer to vote. The results show right away with your answer marked.
You get one vote per poll, and it cannot be changed. Votes are anonymous: nobody can see who picked what.
The Past polls page at /polls/ lists every poll, newest first, with how many people voted and how each answer did.

Oct 8, 2026

Admins can post polls and set up the Spotlight

Admin Tools has a new Spotlight page. Pick the Feature Request Meeting, write the two short lines members see, and watch a preview update as you type.
Post a poll with 2 to 6 answers that closes on its own after the days you choose. Only one poll is open at a time, and you can close it early.
Every past poll is kept in a table with its total votes and top answer. Results show counts only, never who voted for what.

Oct 7, 2026

Notifications open the page they are about

Tapping a notification on your phone, or clicking one on the Notifications page, now takes you to the page it is about. Some opened the home page, a page that does not exist, or nothing at all.
Notices about a class registration open that registration's page, and a request to review a class opens that class's review page.

Oct 7, 2026

Equipment managers can block time

On an item's Manage page, the Reservations tab has a Block Time card: pick a date, a start, an end and a short reason.
Members see the time on the schedule as Held, with the reason, and can't book over it.
A block doesn't count toward your own reservation limit, never charges a late fee, and emails nobody.
Remove a block from the same card when plans change; the time opens up again right away.

Oct 7, 2026

Signing in to your class bookings works again

Opening your account on classes.pastlives.space while signed out now takes you to sign in, instead of a page that never loaded.

Oct 7, 2026

Hear it the moment your request is live

When an update delivers something you asked for on the Feedback page, we tell you it's live (or fixed, for a bug) as soon as it's out, with a link to what changed.

Oct 7, 2026

Follow the ideas and bug reports you send

The Feedback page now lists everything you have sent under Your Requests, newest first. Open one to see what you wrote and where it stands: Received, Planned, Building, Live (Fixed for a bug) or Not planned.
You hear about it when your request moves along or gets a note from us: in the bell, and by email or push if you have those turned on in Settings > Notifications.

Oct 7, 2026

Instructor Inquiries in Admin Tools

The I'm Interested form on Host a Class now asks for your teaching experience, and optionally your website and socials.
Admins have a new Instructor Inquiries page in Admin Tools listing everyone who asked to teach, with date and status filters and a CSV export.
A Board Report on the same page charts inquiries per month and how many went on to be approved and run a first class, each downloadable as an image.

Oct 7, 2026

Registrations show when each class meets

The Registrations list in Admin Tools has a Class Date column beside the class name, and it sorts.

Oct 7, 2026

Add an Orientation opens one form

The Add an Orientation button on the Orientations page now opens a single form. Pick the guild, fill in the orientation, and save; you land on that guild's Orientations page to set your hours.

Oct 7, 2026

Your skills show in the member directory again

Saving your profile was hiding your skills from your directory card. Skills are back on every card, and My Skills in Settings has a switch to hide them if you prefer.

Oct 7, 2026

Each guild has its own Orientations page

Guild leads and orienters now set up orientations on a page of their own, with Add an orientation type right at the top. Open it from the Orientations tab in Guild Settings or the Add an Orientation button on the Orientations page.

Oct 7, 2026

A reserved tool hides the guild orientations that use it

When a guild orientation uses a piece of equipment, members can no longer book a time while that equipment is reserved or held by its managers.
Guild leads and staff see that time marked on their Upcoming Times list, with who or what holds the equipment, until the reservation is cancelled.

Oct 7, 2026

You can see what you picked in a list

In a list where you pick several items, such as Related articles when editing a Help article, the items you chose now show in gold in both the light and dark themes.

Oct 7, 2026

Orientations hold the equipment they use

Guild leads and equipment managers can pick the equipment an orientation uses, under Equipment it uses in the orientation editor.
Once a member books a time, each item on that list shows as reserved for the orientation and nobody can reserve it over that time.
A time with no booking leaves the equipment free.
An equipment orientation always holds its own equipment.

Oct 7, 2026

One page for gear that more than one orientation unlocks

A tool or room can now list several orientations. Finish any one of them and you can reserve it.
If you have none yet, the page lists each orientation that unlocks it, with its own Book link.
Managers pick the orientations on the item's Details tab. Pick none and any active member can book it.

Oct 6, 2026

Instagram handles and websites on profiles are links

On the Member Directory and on instructor pages, an Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Facebook or Threads handle now opens that profile when you tap it.
Website addresses written without www, like yourname.com, open too, and a phone number in your links dials on a tap.

Oct 6, 2026

Badges show on the Member Directory

Colored badges, such as Elevator Certified, now show on a person's Member Directory card next to their member type, as well as on the Leadership Directory.
Admins can give or take a badge from a member's Edit page with one switch per badge. New badges are still made on the Leadership Directory editor.

Oct 6, 2026

Booking a class can make a guest account, not a membership

Someone who books a class and asks for an account now gets a guest account. It opens their bookings, receipts and account pages on the class site, and nothing on the members site or in the app.
A guest who reaches the members site sees a message written for guests. Admins can edit it in Site Settings, next to the former member message.
Manage Members shows guests as Guest, with their own filter, and they are left out of member counts and member emails. Making a guest a member works like it does for anyone else: set their status and role.
Booking with an email that already belongs to a member never changes that member's status.

Oct 5, 2026

Reservations have a Bookings tab

The Reservations page has a new Bookings tab next to List and Calendar. Members see all their own reservations there, past, upcoming and cancelled, and can cancel one from its menu.
Equipment managers see the reservations on the equipment they run, and admins see them all. Each row has a menu to view or manage the equipment, email the member, waive a late fee, or cancel with a reason the member sees.

Oct 5, 2026

Guild staff can record an orientation

Guild leads, guild staff and equipment managers can mark a member as oriented from the Orientations page. On the Bookings tab, + Record Orientation saves an orientation that happened outside the app, so the member can reserve the equipment right away without booking one.
Recorded orientations are listed on the same tab, and whoever runs that orientation can remove a record from its menu.

Oct 5, 2026

Printable QR sheets for equipment and orientations

Equipment managers and the people who run an orientation can print a one page QR sheet to post in the shop, like class flyers. Members scan it to reserve the tool, or to book the orientation they need first.
Find Print QR Sheet on the equipment page, the equipment manage page, your guild's Orientations settings and the Orientations Bookings tab. You can also download just the QR code as SVG or PNG.

Oct 5, 2026

Orientations have a Bookings tab

The Orientations page has a new Bookings tab next to List and Calendar. Members see their own orientations there, past and upcoming.
Guild leads and staff see the orientations for their own guilds and equipment, and admins see them all. Each row has a menu to mark someone oriented, confirm or decline a request, or cancel. People who handle refunds can refund from it too.
The old orientations dashboard now opens this tab, and a lead sees only the orientations they run, plus their own.

Oct 5, 2026

Manager cancels are labelled

Equipment managers never pay a late fee when they cancel their own reservation on equipment they manage, whichever Cancel button they use.
The Bookings tab labels those cancels "Manager cancelled", or "Manager cancelled, late fee waived" when it was late enough that a member would have paid a fee.

Oct 5, 2026

Area lights skip pick your date classes

A guild page no longer shows an area as in use for weeks because of a pick your date class. Only real class sessions light an area.

Oct 5, 2026

Change your class banner photo after it goes live

Instructors can replace and recrop the banner photo on a live class from its edit page, with no admin request needed.

Oct 5, 2026

Equipment only needs its orientation

Reserving equipment no longer asks you to be a member of the guild that runs it. If it needs an orientation, that orientation is the only thing you need before you can reserve it.

Oct 5, 2026

Add an Orientation from the Orientations page

Admins, guild officers and guild staff now see + Add an Orientation at the top of the Orientations page. It opens your guild's Orientations settings, where you set up a new orientation. If you can set up orientations for more than one guild, pick one from its menu.

Oct 5, 2026

The Monday digests post once

When Discord was slow to answer, the Monday week ahead post in #calendar or #classes could appear twice. It now checks the channel first and posts only once.

Oct 5, 2026

Instructors pick the cover photo and framing for their class gallery

In the class composer, each gallery photo has a Make cover button. The cover is the photo your class page gallery opens on.
Set focus lets you tap the part of a photo that matters, so the gallery frame and its small previews keep that part in view instead of cropping from the middle.

Oct 5, 2026

Floating buttons no longer hide behind the feedback bubble on phones

On a phone, the Member or Join button on a guild page now sits just above the yellow feedback bubble, so you can read and tap all of it.
The back to top button in Settings moved up the same way.

Oct 5, 2026

/schedule-orientation links to the Orientations page

The /schedule-orientation command in Discord now sends you a link to the Orientations page, where every orientation is booked. It no longer books from Discord, which let a paid orientation go through as a free request.

Orientations can be donation based

Guild leads and staff, and equipment managers, can turn on Donation based for an orientation. They can set a minimum and a suggested amount instead of a fixed price.
When you book one, you enter what you'd like to pay. $0 sends a free request. Any other amount is at least $1 and is paid by card, with an automatic full refund if the orientation is declined or cancelled.
Orientation cards show the suggested donation, or Pay what you can when there is none.

Oct 4, 2026

Announcement recipients show names again

The Add a member list and a guild announcement's recipient checklist show each person's name and email once, sorted by name, instead of their email twice.
People you added to an announcement draft are still there when you reopen it.
A sent announcement names its sender and the people added by their member name. The From line of its email names the sender the same way.

Oct 4, 2026

Guild pages show when an area is in use

Classes, events, orientations and equipment can now have a Location, the area of the building they use. It is optional.
A guild page lists its areas with a light: green when free, amber when something starts within the hour, and red when a class, orientation, event or reservation is using it now.
Class and event pages show their Location when one is set.
Admins manage the list of Locations from Admin Tools, including areas that share space, like the Front Studio and the Events Stage.

Oct 4, 2026

Instructors get their class emails by default

New instructors now get an email when their class is approved, when a reviewer asks for changes, and when someone signs up, without having to switch anything on.
Anyone who already turned one of these off keeps their choice.

Oct 4, 2026

Voting is now Guild Voting

The sidebar entry for voting now reads Guild Voting, so it says what the vote is for.

Oct 4, 2026

Equipment pages show who looks after each tool

Each equipment page has a Staff section listing the people who look after it, so you know who to ask.
Equipment cards on the Reservations page and on guild pages name the staff in one line.

Oct 3, 2026

Run your own session as a class

When member event proposals are switched off, the Calendar shows a Host a Class button where Propose an event used to be.
An old Propose an event link, or /create in Discord, now points you to Host a Class instead of a dead end.
A proposal you already sent can still be edited or withdrawn.

Oct 3, 2026

Banner sliders say which way a photo can move

When you adjust the banner on a guild page, the Help Center or a class page, a slider that cannot move the photo on any screen is turned off, and a line says which way each slider moves it.

Oct 3, 2026

Photos picked in Guild Settings always save

A photo picked in Guild Settings while your last edit was still saving used to show its preview and then never save. It now saves.

Oct 3, 2026

Tonight's events stay on your Home page

Home's Upcoming list kept dropping tonight's events in the evening. They now stay until they start.
A space agreement now counts as active through the evening of its last day, and its 30 day reminder arrives in the morning, 30 days out.

Oct 3, 2026

Guild pages can show their rooms and tools

Guild leads can turn on a Reservations tab in guild settings. It lists the guild's rooms, spaces and tools on the guild page, with a lock on any tool you still need an orientation for.
Guild settings list every item the guild owns, whether it is active, and a Manage link for those who look after it.
A guild's Orientations tab now only appears when there is an orientation to book.

Oct 3, 2026

Calendar views for Orientations and Reservations

The Orientations page has a Calendar tab showing every open orientation time by date, with the seats left. Filter it by guild.
The Reservations page has a Calendar tab showing what is booked on each room, space and tool. Tap an entry to open that item's page.
Calendars now show evening events on the right day. Guild and community calendars used to put them on the next day.

Oct 3, 2026

A Webmaster hears when an automation fails

For admins: a new Webmaster duty on a member's Permissions tab. When an automation such as the reminder emails fails, the Webmaster gets an alert in the notification bell, by push and by email, saying what broke and when. Admins can open the automation's run history from the alert.
At most one alert a day per automation, so a job that keeps failing does not flood anyone.

Oct 3, 2026

One Orientations page for every guild and tool

A new Orientations entry in the sidebar lists every orientation a guild or a tool offers, each as a card with its next times and a Book button. Filter by guilds or equipment, or search by name.
Each card shows the guild's banner, or a photo of its own that guild leads and equipment managers can add, replace or delete on their orientation settings.
When no times are posted yet, the card says so and offers Schedule an Orientation if the guild takes custom requests. Orientations you have finished fold away under the list.

Oct 3, 2026

Equipment is now Reservations, and spaces like the loading dock can be booked

The sidebar entry and page formerly called Equipment are now Reservations: book a room, a space, or a tool you are trained on. Spaces are a new kind alongside tools and rooms.
A tool you are not trained on now shows locked, with a Book the orientation link. If you were trained before the Member Portal went live, the card's help bubble says how to get access.
Admins can grant a Space Manager role on Manage Members, which lets a member add rooms and spaces and manage the ones they add.

Oct 3, 2026

See a site-wide announcement's progress, and everyone it reached

For admins: while a site-wide announcement sends, the Announcements page shows how far it has got, like "Sent to 50 of 298 so far", and updates on its own.
For anyone who sends announcements: the Sent tab has an Emails column. Click the number, or "See who it reached" on the announcement's own page, for everyone it reached, with whether each person got the email, the notification bell and a push, and the reason for any email that failed. This works for announcements sent since the Announcements page arrived.
Push now counts only members who have the app or browser notifications set up.

Oct 3, 2026

Meetings land on the calendar on their own

Give a council or guild meeting a date and a time, and it goes onto the calendar and into Discord Events by itself.
No announcement goes out then. A draft waits in Announcements, so an admin can send it or not.
Admins can now address an announcement to Guild leads: every guild lead, officer and staffer.

Oct 3, 2026

Orientation info can carry links, and every orientation books here

A guild's Orientation info now takes links, lists and headings, written in the same editor as class descriptions and emails. Members see all of it on the guild page's Orientations tab, not a shortened teaser.
Every orientation is booked in the Member Portal. The option to send members to an outside form is gone from guild settings and from orientation types.

Oct 3, 2026

Guild Settings save themselves as you edit

Every section of a guild's settings saves as you change it, so a forgotten Save can no longer lose an edit. A pill at the top shows Saving, Saved or Couldn't save.
A value that cannot be saved shows its problem right under the field and keeps what you typed.
Removing a row of hours asks once first, since it takes that row's open times off the calendar. Booked times stay, as before.
If a change could not be saved, leaving the page warns you first.

Oct 3, 2026

Add people to a site-wide announcement

Admins sending a site-wide announcement can now add people beyond the active membership. Under Recipients, "Add a member" adds a former, invited or suspended member, and "Add email addresses" adds anyone else.
Someone with no account gets the email only, and only when Email is on. Uncheck a row to take that person off before you send.
The sent announcement's record lists who was added.

Oct 3, 2026

Cancel several upcoming orientation times at once

On the guild settings Orientations tab, each row in Upcoming Times has a checkbox. Tick a few, or select every time on the page or across all pages, and cancel them with one confirm.
The confirm says how many upcoming times are going and how many booked members will be emailed. Each time is cancelled the same way a single Cancel does it today.

Oct 3, 2026

The class card photo sliders say which way the photo can move

When a photo already fills the card from side to side, the left and right slider is switched off with a note saying only up and down moves it, instead of doing nothing.
A slider that moves the photo in only one of the two card sizes says which one.
Picking a different photo rechecks both sliders right away.

Oct 3, 2026

Site-wide announcements can reach members who haven't logged in yet

A site-wide announcement goes to active members who have logged in to the app, and the Announcement Composer now says how many that is and how many more have never logged in.
Turn on "Also include members who haven't logged in yet" to reach every active member. Members who have never logged in get it by email when Email is on, and in their notification bell once they log in.

Oct 2, 2026

Repeating events open on the date you picked

Opening a repeating event from the calendar shows the date you clicked, not the first date in the series. From anywhere else, it shows the next date.
Add to calendar starts from that date, in Google Calendar and in Apple Calendar or Outlook.
A repeating evening event added to Apple Calendar or Outlook now lands on the right day and time every time, not a day early.
After 5 PM, the calendar's Events tab lists tonight's date of a repeating event instead of skipping to next time.

Oct 2, 2026

Announcements has its own page, with drafts and sent announcements

Admin Tools → Announcements now opens a page with two tabs, Drafts and Sent. Admins see every announcement. Guild leads and staff see the ones for their guilds, and instructors the ones for their classes.
The Announcement Composer has a Save draft button again. A saved draft waits on the Drafts tab until someone sends it.
The Sent tab shows who sent each announcement and when, and for announcements sent from now on, how many people it reached. View shows the email, push notification and Discord post it sent.
Once a month's voting results are in, that month's results draft appears on the Drafts tab on its own, ready for an admin to check and send.

Oct 2, 2026

Voting results go out as an announcement you can edit

Admins: once a month's votes are counted, the Voting page shows a Draft announcement button. It opens the Announcement Composer with the results already written in, ready to edit.
The results email shows a bar chart of every guild's share of the funding pool, and the Discord post shows the same bars as /voting.
The results email is now the same for everyone, so it no longer repeats your own vote.
Preview & send now shows how the Discord post will look, next to the email and push previews.
Makerspace-wide announcements from the composer now send in the background and reach everyone within 15 minutes.

Oct 2, 2026

Gallery photos open clear of the title, and phone numbers dial

Opening a gallery photo on a class page no longer shows the class title across it.
A phone number in the Member Directory is a link: tap it to call.
A flexible class can say in its own words how students book. On the Dates & Price step, or a live class's Edit page, edit the line under Flexible Scheduling, or leave it for the standard one.

Oct 2, 2026

Crop your class photo wide, square or free

On the Photos step, pick a box shape above the crop preview: Wide (16:9), Square (1:1) or Free. Square and Free let a tall or square subject fit whole.
The class page shows the shape you chose, with soft bars at the sides on a wide screen.

Oct 2, 2026

The class page shows the photo the way you cropped it

The banner on a class page now shows everything inside the crop box from the Photos step. Before, the top and bottom of the crop were cut off on a laptop and the sides on a phone.
A soft, blurred copy of the same photo fills any space around it, such as on a wide screen.
The Adjust sliders are gone from a class photo, because the crop box already decides what shows.

Oct 2, 2026

Running a class again starts on its dates

Run it again now opens the new run on the Dates & Price step with a note saying what to do next: add the new group's dates, then submit for review. Everything else comes across from the original.
The Dates & Price step and the published class page now say that a second group gets its own run, with its own seats, rather than more dates on the same class.

Oct 2, 2026

Registration closes before a class starts

Each class now closes registration 48 hours before its first session, so the instructor knows who is coming in time to prepare. The class page says when registration closes, and once it has closed it says so and why.
On the Dates & Price step of the class composer you can change the number of hours or turn the cutoff off for a class that should take sign-ups right up to the start.
Classes that run as a flexible, book with the instructor arrangement are not affected.

Oct 2, 2026

Share a class from its page

Every class page has a Share button next to All classes. On a phone it opens your share sheet, so you can send the class by text, email, Instagram or any app you have.
Where the share sheet is not available, including the Android app until its next update, the button offers Copy link, Text and Email.

Oct 2, 2026

The event editor says what will be sent, and when

Each reminder in the event editor shows when it will go out, or says it's too late to send, and updates as you change the start time.
The Save button says what saving does: "Save and announce" or "Save and schedule" before an event is announced, and "Save" once it's live.
Reminders and the "happening now" ping on a repeating event now go out before every date, not only the first one.

Oct 2, 2026

Class page photos no longer magnify under the mouse

Moving the mouse over a class gallery photo shows the photo as it is. Click or tap it to open the full size view, as before.

Oct 2, 2026

Events announced on a schedule can be edited again

Saving changes to an event whose announcement went out at a scheduled time no longer stops on "Pick a time in the future".
The edit page for an event that is already live now says that saving won't announce it again.

Oct 2, 2026

Registration lists link to the class

On the admin Registrations list and on an instructor's Registrations page, the class name now opens that class's page, so you can tell which class a sign-up or a payment belongs to in one click.

Oct 1, 2026

Leadership Directory cards can carry badges

People on the Leadership Directory can now show colored badges on their cards, such as Elevator Certified, so you can see at a glance who can help with what.
Admins make each badge with its own words and color, and give it to people from the Leadership Directory editor.

Oct 1, 2026

Everything is a class now

Host a Workshop is now Host a Class, in the sidebar, on the page itself and in the emails about hosting.
Guild Types are now Class Types, on the class catalog filter, the class editor and the admin settings.
The rest of the app says class wherever it used to say workshop.

Oct 1, 2026

The Leadership Directory is split into tabs

The Leadership Directory now shows its people in tabs, starting with Leadership and Guild Leads, so you can jump straight to the group you want.
Admins can add, name, reorder and delete tabs, and one person can appear on more than one tab with a different role on each.
The Leadership Directory editor saves every change as you make it. There is no Save button to remember.

Oct 1, 2026

Long class titles fit the class page on a phone

On a phone, a long class title or subtitle no longer pushes the guild label off the top of the class photo. The photo grows to fit the words instead.

Oct 1, 2026

Add one event to your own calendar again

An event page's Add to calendar is back for members: pick Google Calendar to add just that event, or Apple Calendar or Outlook for the calendar file.
Inside the Past Lives app, Add to calendar offers Google Calendar.
Subscribing to every makerspace event stays on the Community Calendar.

Oct 1, 2026

Classes can have a subtitle

A class can now carry a short subtitle, shown in its own italic type between the class name and the instructor's name at the top of the class page.
Add it on the first step of the class composer, right under the title. Instructors can also change it on a class that is already live.

Oct 1, 2026

Guild links on class pages work again

On a class page, the "About our guilds" link now opens the guild's page on guilds.pastlives.space instead of a page that was not found.

Sep 30, 2026

Classes now live at classes.pastlives.space

The public class site is now classes.pastlives.space. Class emails, Discord posts and class QR codes link there.
Old book.pastlives.space links still work and open the same page on the new address.
Class links in the #classes Discord channel now open the class here instead of the old class site.
Links to a class on the old class site now open that class here. If it is no longer listed, you land on the class list.
If you were signed in on book.pastlives.space, sign in once more on classes.pastlives.space.

Sep 30, 2026

Post open orientation hours that members book any time inside

Guild leads and staff: each row of your orientation hours now chooses how members book it. Fixed start times work as before. Any time in the window opens the whole span, and a member picks an orientation and any 15 minute start that fits, one person at a time.
The Upcoming Times card on your guild Orientations tab lists fixed times and open windows together, shows who booked into a window, and adds a one off of either kind.
The Availability Blocks card on the Orientations dashboard is gone. Open windows replace it.

Sep 30, 2026

Manage Classes finds every date of a class

Manage Classes no longer hides a class's upcoming dates behind an old one. Search, Upcoming and Drafts now find every date.
The "N dates" tag on a class lists those dates one per row, so you can open or take down the exact one you mean.
Renaming one date of a class while moving it to another guild moves only that date. Its other dates stay where they were instead of landing on the wrong card in the catalog.
Class approval emails to admins now ask for "Admin sign-off" instead of "executive validation".

Sep 30, 2026

Flexible classes take a date window instead of session times

Instructors who teach students one at a time can mark a class Flexible on step 3 of the composer and, if they like, give its first and last day. The class page tells students they book their day with the instructor, shows the window, and the class leaves the catalog the day after its last day.
A Flexible class has no seat cap: registering never puts anyone on a waitlist, and the page shows no seat count.

Sep 30, 2026

The composer's card previews zoom to the crop box as you drag it

On the Photos step, the two card previews beside the crop box and the phone preview on the Review step now show just the part of the photo inside the box, the way the saved card will. Before, they showed the whole photo and only followed the box's centre until you saved.

Sep 30, 2026

Class prices are the same for everyone at checkout

Classes no longer take a member percentage off automatically. Members type their member code in the discount box at checkout instead.
The class catalog filter for classes with a member discount is gone, and class pages and cards no longer show a separate member price.

Sep 30, 2026

The class photo crop box now crops

Drag the box on the composer's Photos step and the class page banner, the catalog card and the flyer show the part of the photo inside it. Before, the box only chose which part of the whole photo the banner centred on.
Moving the banner with the Adjust tool on the class page still works on a cropped class: the point you pick is carried back to the full photo.

Sep 30, 2026

Class photos sit above the Register button

On a class page, the photo gallery now comes before the price and Register button in the side column, so the pictures are the first thing you see beside the description.

Sep 30, 2026

Class dates stay at the time you picked

Saving a class no longer shifts its dates seven hours later each time. A session added at 6pm reopened as 1am the next day, and moved again on every save.

Sep 30, 2026

Class lists sort by their column headers

On the teaching portal's list of your classes, click Title, Guild Type, Date(s), Status or Registrations to sort. The list gains a Date(s) column and pages at 25.
Every sortable header in the admin tables now shows an arrow, so you can tell it sorts. Sorting by Date(s) puts classes with no dates last either way, and sorting Manage Classes by Instructor works again.

Sep 30, 2026

Manage Classes shows the whole class title

The Title column on Manage Classes cut every class name off after about 22 characters, so one instructor's classes all read the same. It now shows the whole title, wrapping onto a second line when it needs to.
On a phone, the admin tables scroll sideways inside their frame instead of hiding every column past the second.

Sep 30, 2026

Class descriptions can be formatted

Writing or editing a class, the description box now has bold, italics, underline, headings, lists and links, and the class page shows them.
Classes brought over from classes.pastlives.space get the formatting they had there back on the next nightly sync, unless someone has already rewritten the description here.
A description edited here is now yours: the nightly sync from the old class site no longer overwrites it.

Sep 30, 2026

Classes from the old class site now bring their photo galleries along

Photos that a class had in its gallery on classes.pastlives.space now show on its page here too, under the sign up panel.
New classes posted on the old site pick up their gallery and header photo the same night they are imported, so nobody has to copy them over by hand.

Sep 30, 2026

A class page shows its guild's description the way it was written

The Supported by the Guild box on a class page ran the guild's whole description together as one block. Its paragraphs and bullet lines now show on their own lines, the same as on the guild's own page.

Sep 30, 2026

Past Lives 2.0

When you say you are interested in hosting a workshop, we now ask how you want to be reached: email, text message or a phone call. The admins see that with your note, so they can get back to you the way you asked.
A multi session series on the class catalog lists every date in the set, so you know which days you are signing up for before you click.
In the class composer, a date you have just added counts when you submit for review. You no longer have to save first.
The composer's card and phone previews follow the crop you choose the moment you choose it, and the page preview shows the saved crop.

v1.98.48 Sep 30, 2026

Class previews show the real page

Previewing a class from the teaching portal or a review link no longer reports sign-ups as closed for a class that is still weeks away; it shows the same Register button, seat count and schedule the public page will.
The preview now also shows the other dates the class runs, related classes in the same guild, and lets an editor adjust the hero image placement, just like the live page.

v1.98.46 Sep 30, 2026

Guild orientations lead with Schedule an Orientation

When a guild has no orientation times up, its Orientations tab now shows a Schedule an Orientation button instead of telling you to check back later.
Where times are up, the same button sits under them for proposing your own time.

v1.98.45 Sep 30, 2026

Guild pages anyone can open

The "View public page" button on a guild, guild QR codes and printed guild flyers used to lead to an address that did not load. They now open the guild's public page, so nothing you printed needs reprinting.
Anyone can browse every guild at guilds.pastlives.space without logging in.

v1.98.44 Sep 30, 2026

Subscribe to the calendar from your own calendar app

The Community Calendar's Subscribe menu now offers each calendar for Apple Calendar and for Google Calendar, so it works on Android and in the app as well as on a Mac or iPhone.
An event page offers Subscribe to signed-in members in place of the one-time Add to calendar, so a rescheduled event follows you. A visitor who scanned a flyer still gets Add to calendar.
Inside the Past Lives app, download buttons the app cannot handle yet are hidden instead of doing nothing.

v1.97.43 Sep 30, 2026

Downloads download again

Add to calendar on an event page hands you the calendar file instead of showing its raw text.
The same fix covers every other download in the portal: the Community Calendar's .ics, the QR images on the Share & Print cards, the CSV exports and uploaded guild documents.

v1.97.42 Sep 30, 2026

Run it again keeps your photos, class pages show your teaching bio, and you can delete your own drafts

Run it again and Duplicate now carry over the gallery photos and the FAQ answers, so a new date-set only needs its dates before you submit it.
The instructor card on a class page now shows the bio from your Instructor Profile, not your member-directory bio.
Instructors can delete a draft of their own from the class page while nobody has signed up. A submitted class is withdrawn and a live one is cancelled, as before.

v1.96.42 Sep 29, 2026

Notification settings: your role notices in one place, and switches for a whole channel

If you hold a role or an admin permission, the notices it brings you now sit together in Admin / Permissions at the top of Settings → Notifications, grouped by the permission.
New On and Off buttons turn every Email, Push or Discord switch at once, for the whole page, one section or one group. Nothing changes until you press Save.
The Always emailed block is gone. Notices you can't turn off are back in their own topics, with a padlock on their Email switch.
Class review and orientation request emails now follow your Email switch, like every other notice. Turning it off really stops them.
The review row is now called Class review request, to match the email. Admins also get rows for the new class registration email and for payment alerts that need a refund.

v1.95.42 Sep 23, 2026

An accepted agreement now records which version you accepted

When you accept the Member Agreement, PLM now records the version you accepted and a fingerprint of the document as it stood at that moment — so the record says what you agreed to, not just that you agreed.
The browser and device you accepted from are recorded alongside the time and network address, as corroboration.
Accepting a revised agreement no longer overwrites the old record. Each acceptance is kept, so an earlier one still shows what was agreed at the time.
Nothing changes for members until an admin sets a Member Agreement version in Site Settings. Until then, anyone who has accepted once is never asked again, exactly as before.

v1.94.42 Sep 28, 2026

The Printmaking Guild has its own logo

The Printmaking Guild now has a logo: the big spoked wheel you turn on an etching press.
It shows wherever the other guilds show theirs, like the guild list, the guild's page and guild voting.

v1.93.42 Sep 28, 2026

Message boxes keep their shape after you save

After you saved a guild's thank-you or welcome email, the message box lost its outline and showed an empty extra box under it. It now looks the same after Save as before.
The hint under those message boxes no longer says plain text. It now says what leaving the box blank does: members get the standard message.

v1.91.39 Sep 27, 2026

Class photos refuse files that are not pictures

If you drop a file that is not a photo onto a class's main image or gallery, it is turned away with a message, instead of saving a broken picture on the class page.

v1.91.38 Sep 27, 2026

Form errors are easier to read in light mode

The red message under a form field that needs fixing is now darker in light mode, so it is easy to read on a white page.
Screen readers announce the reason when the class form stops you on a step.

v1.91.36 Sep 26, 2026

An event can carry a photo

Events can now have a photo. It fronts the event's page behind the title, shows as a thumbnail in the Calendar list, and goes out with the post in Discord.
The photo also becomes the event's cover image in Discord's own Events tab, so it looks like a real flyer there too.
Anyone who can put an event on the calendar can give it a photo: a guild lead or staffer, an admin, or a member proposing one.
Made the event with /create in Discord? The confirmation now offers a link straight to the page where you add the photo.
An event without a photo looks exactly the way it does today.

v1.90.36 Sep 26, 2026

Posting an event from Discord asks the same question

The /create card in Discord now asks what the event is in the same words the website uses, instead of asking which Google calendar it should go on.
Guild staff and admins can post their guild's event as a guild meeting or as something else, and either one can be open to the public or just for members.
The guild picker says No guild, matching the website.
Anyone else posts a public event, the way it already worked.

v1.89.36 Sep 25, 2026

Posting an event asks who it is for

Adding something to the calendar now starts with who it is for: members, or the public. Guild staff and admins get that choice; anyone else posts to the public calendar, the way it already worked.
Guild staff and admins also say what kind it is, a guild meeting or something else. A guild meeting can be open to the public or just for members; the two questions are separate.
A guild can now put on something open to the public, so the guild picker has a clear No guild option when an event does not belong to one.
The calendar list and each event's page now say whether it is a member event or a public event.
Neither choice hides anything. Both calendars are open, so anyone can still find a member event and see what the makerspace gets up to.

v1.88.36 Sep 25, 2026

Late cancellation fees can be waived or refunded

Guild leads, guild staff, equipment managers and admins: an unpaid late cancellation fee can be waived with a reason from the orientation's request page or the equipment's Reservations tab. The member gets an email and can book again right away.
Admins with refund authority: paid late fees appear in the Payments ledger under their own Late fees filter and refund through the same form as class and orientation payments.

v1.87.36 Sep 25, 2026

Late cancellation fees are charged through Stripe

Members: when a guild or a tool charges a late cancellation fee and you cancel inside the notice window, the fee is due right away. You go straight to a secure Stripe payment page, your cancellation email carries a link to pay later, and you get a receipt once it is paid.
Until an unpaid late fee is paid, you cannot book a new orientation or reserve equipment. The guild page and the equipment page show the amount and a Pay button.
Cancellations by a guild lead, an equipment manager or an admin never charge a fee, and a paid orientation still refunds in full when it is cancelled.

v1.86.36 Sep 25, 2026

Late cancellation policies for orientations and reservations

Admins: Site Settings has a Late cancellation fees switch, off by default, with the cancellation notice in hours. Nothing charges yet; this release sets the rules and shows them.
Guild leads and equipment managers: when the switch is on, set a late cancellation fee for your orientations in the guild's Orientations tab and for a tool in its Hours & Limits tab. No fee is the default.
Members: where a fee applies, you see the notice and the amount before you book, on the Reserve prompt, and in your confirmation email.

v1.85.36 Sep 25, 2026

Admins can record an orientation a member already took

Admins: Manage Members now has an Orientations tab on each member. It lists every orientation they have completed, whether they booked it here or an admin recorded it.
Record an orientation by typing its name, picking it from the list and setting the date. The member counts as oriented right away: a tool that requires it unlocks for them, the guild page marks it done, and the Discord orientation command knows.
Recording is quiet: no email and no Discord post. A recorded orientation can be removed again if it was a mistake.

v1.84.36 Sep 25, 2026

New equipment can require its own orientation from the start

Admins and equipment managers: when you add a tool, you can create its orientation and require it in the same save. Pick New orientation for this equipment, give it a name, and the tool goes live already gated.
The same choice is on the Details tab of an existing tool, so a manager can add a gate without visiting two more tabs.

v1.83.36 Sep 24, 2026

The class composer has a Discounts step

A new step 5, Discounts, sits before Review. Where the studio has turned instructor discount codes on, instructors see the codes that already apply to every class, the codes on their own class, and where each of their requests stands, with a button to request a new code.
Admins get the same step with the discount codes for the class they are editing.
Review is now step 6.

v1.82.36 Sep 24, 2026

Instructors request discount codes and an admin approves them

Instructors who teach a class can ask for a discount code from the Discount Codes page instead of making one. The code exists only once an admin approves it.
Admins see the requests waiting on the Classes admin Discount Codes page, can adjust the values, and approve or decline with a note.
The instructor is notified either way, with the note when a request is declined.
A new site setting turns the request step on or off. The existing setting that hides instructor discount codes entirely still works.

v1.81.36 Sep 24, 2026

The class description check counts what you typed and says how much it needs

The class description needs at least 40 characters. The composer now shows a live count under the box and the hint names the number.
Text in angle brackets, like a note about safety glasses, now counts. Before, the check dropped it and could refuse a description that was long enough.

v1.81.35 Sep 24, 2026

The class composer asks for a gallery photo on the Photos step

On the Photos step, Next now stops and asks for a gallery photo when your class has none, instead of waiting until you submit.
The hero photo and the gallery carry a Required tag, so you know before you start.
Saving a draft still works without a photo.

v1.81.34 Sep 24, 2026

Deleted calendar events now leave the calendar

When an event is deleted from the Google calendar, it now disappears from the community calendar and from Discord's event list at the next morning sync, instead of lingering on its old date.
An event that was deleted and re-created on a new date no longer shows up twice.

v1.81.33 Sep 24, 2026

Orientation hours that repeat every week now start on the day you picked

Set a start date on weekly orientation hours and nothing is bookable before it. Until now the date was saved and ignored, and the hours ran from the same week.
The start date does not have to fall on the day the hours run. The first session is the first matching day on or after it.
Leave the start date blank and weekly hours run from now, exactly as before.
Each rule in the Orientations list names its start date while the date is still ahead, such as Every Sunday from Oct 4.
Hours already published with a start date lose their open sessions before that date the next time slots are generated. Anyone already booked keeps their place.

v1.81.31 Sep 22, 2026

The Knowledge Base has its own address

The Knowledge Base link in the sidebar now goes to kb.pastlives.space. Links and bookmarks you already have still work.

v1.81.30 Sep 21, 2026

Guided tours point at the page, not the middle of the screen

A guided tour now starts on the thing it is describing, instead of opening with a popup in the middle of the screen.
The notes a tour used to show between stops, and its closing note, now sit beside the stops they belong to.

v1.80.29 Sep 21, 2026

The welcome pop-up no longer blocks the Member Agreement

Members signing in for the first time saw the welcome pop-up on top of the Member Agreement, and neither of its buttons could get them past it. The agreement now shows on its own.
The welcome pop-up appears once you have accepted the agreement.

v1.79.28 Sep 20, 2026

Read and accept the Member Agreement

When an admin enables the Member Agreement requirement, active members must read and accept it before continuing into the portal.
Open the agreement in a new tab, then return to accept it. You can read the agreement before accepting even when it lives in the Knowledge Base.
Your acceptance is saved so you only need to agree once.

v1.78.28 Sep 20, 2026

Profile settings are easier to scan

The Member Directory and Spaces Map choices now have clear space between them.

v1.78.27 Sep 20, 2026

Your profile stays private until you choose to share it

New member profiles start hidden from the Member Directory.
Profile settings now make clear that directory details are visible to members only.

v1.78.26 Sep 20, 2026

Leadership Directory portraits show the whole face

Photos on the Leadership Directory are round portraits now, the same as on the Member Directory, so nobody's face is cut off.
Admins add people, fix titles and emails, and set the order of the team from Admin Tools, and an Edit this page button on the directory takes them there.

v1.77.26 Sep 19, 2026

Get the app from the portal

The sign in page, your home page, the sidebar and the front door now show Get it on Google Play and Download on the App Store badges for the Member Portal app.

v1.76.26 Sep 19, 2026

Get the app from any email

Every email from Past Lives now ends with Get it on Google Play and Download on the App Store badges, so the Member Portal app is one tap away on either phone.

v1.75.26 Sep 19, 2026

A Leadership Directory shows you who to ask

Leadership Directory, new in the sidebar, has a card for each person who runs Past Lives: their title, an email for that role, and their Discord handle.
Below them, one card per guild names the lead and co-leads, their Discord handles, and the guild's email. Those cards come straight from each guild's settings, so a change of lead shows up on its own.

v1.74.24 Sep 18, 2026

The Knowledge Base entry actually appears

The Knowledge Base entry announced in the last release was missing from the sidebar. It is there now.

v1.74.16 Sep 18, 2026

Class review emails look like the rest of our email

The emails asking you to review a class now carry the same header and buttons as every other email from Past Lives.

v1.74.15 Sep 18, 2026

Orientation hours can repeat every other week, monthly, or less often

When you publish your orientation hours, Repeats now offers every week, every other week, every month, every 2 months, every 3 months, every 6 months, or every year, and you pick the day the hours start.
A monthly or yearly rule keeps the same weekday of the month as its start day, so the 2nd Tuesday stays the 2nd Tuesday.
The Orientation Schedule names each rule in plain words, such as Every other Tuesday or Every month on the 2nd Tuesday.
Hours you already published keep running every week. If you change a rule to repeat less often, the open slots that no longer fit are removed and booked ones stay.

v1.73.15 Sep 18, 2026

Members see their price up front, and can choose to pay full price

If you are logged in as a member, the registration page shows your member price in the total and on the Next button from the start. Change the email or the discount code and the price updates before you commit.
A member can turn off their member discount at checkout to pay full price and give the difference to the space.
The member discount percentage on a class is set by admins only now. Instructors see the resulting member price on the Dates and Price step.
A new class starts at the studio's default member discount from Classes settings.

v1.72.15 Sep 18, 2026

The Knowledge Base opens from the sidebar, already signed in

A Knowledge Base entry sits under Wiki in the sidebar, for every member.
Clicking it opens the Knowledge Base already signed in as you — it takes your identity from the portal, so there is no second account and no second password.
Your role here decides what you can read there. Change a member's role and their access follows on their next visit.

v1.71.15 Sep 18, 2026

The class catalog no longer offers a Free classes filter

Every class has a price now, so the Free classes filter in the catalog and the Register Free button on a class page are gone. The filter had nothing left to show.
A discount code can still bring a total to $0 at checkout. That has not changed.

v1.71.13 Sep 18, 2026

Guild leads stop being asked to approve the same dates twice

When a guild lead had already signed off on a class and staff then asked the instructor to reword something, resubmitting sent the lead a whole new request for dates they had approved days earlier. Resubmitting now picks up where review left off.
Move a session to a different time and the guild lead is asked again, because the dates are the part they check.

v1.71.12 Sep 18, 2026

Classes stop holding seats for signups that were never finished

Some classes were showing fewer open seats than they really had, because signups abandoned partway through checkout kept holding a seat and never let go. Those seats are released now.

v1.71.11 Sep 18, 2026

Two counts of the same class stop disagreeing

On the page listing sign-ups across all your classes, the heading counted people on the waitlist as registered, so it could say 13 on a class every other screen called 10. It now gives the two numbers separately.
A class with nobody seated but people on the waitlist read as having nobody signed up at all. It now says how many are waiting.

v1.71.10 Sep 18, 2026

The Back button stops breaking the page you return to

If you press Back to return to a wiki page you were editing, what you type now saves. Before, the editor came back looking perfectly normal and quietly threw away every word you wrote.
Pressing Back into a class you were scheduling no longer shows everything twice. The start times, the lengths, and the sessions you had already added were all being doubled.

v1.71.9 Sep 18, 2026

A class roster shows the people who are actually coming

The Registrations tab used to list everyone who ever signed up, including people who cancelled, so instructors read a dropped student as a current one. It now lists the people holding a seat, with a Show cancelled button when there is anyone to show.
Waitlisted people appear on the Waitlist tab only. They used to be on both tabs at once.
Class lists and the sign-up emails used to count cancelled sign-ups toward a class being full, so a class could read 15 of 12 while it still had room. Every one of those numbers now counts the same people, and they agree with the number of spots the sign-up page offers.

v1.70.9 Sep 18, 2026

The space map editor opens ready to use

If you help run the space map, opening the editor now gives you an editor you can actually use: markers drag, the add button works, and photos can be dropped onto a floor. That holds whether you arrive from the sidebar or come back to it with your browser's Back button.
Before, the editor looked perfectly normal but nothing on it responded, and the only way to get it working was to reload the page.

v1.70.8 Sep 18, 2026

Your typed class edits survive the class going live

If your class is published while you have its edit page open, pressing Save now brings the page back with everything you typed still in the form, and explains what changed.
Before, it reported a successful save and quietly dropped the title, dates and price you had changed.
If you help run a guild, leaving or saving a class you do not teach yourself no longer drops you on a Page Not Found.

v1.70.7 Sep 18, 2026

A class stops being held full by signups nobody finished

If someone starts signing up and never pays, their seat used to be held forever and the class could look full when it was not. The seat now comes back about two hours later, and they are free to sign up again.
Checkout pages for a class now expire after an hour instead of a day.
If your bank uses a payment method that settles slowly, your signup now confirms when the money arrives. Before, it could sit unconfirmed and you would never get the confirmation email.
Studio staff can now confirm a signup that got stuck part way through paying, and then record the payment or send a payment link as usual.
If your seat is confirmed with money still owed, the confirmation email now tells you what is left to pay and where to pay it.

v1.69.7 Sep 18, 2026

Guild leads can email a class in their guild

If you lead or staff a guild, the Emails tab on one of its classes now has a working Send Email button. Before, the tab was the one place you landed and the one thing you could not use.
You get the full composer, locked to that class, and you can pick exactly who to send to.

v1.67.7 Sep 18, 2026

Signing up for a class twice by accident

Pressing the sign up button more than once used to create a second signup, and every extra one quietly took a seat. A class could show as full while it still had room. A second press now picks up the checkout you already started instead of starting another one.
If the price moved between your two attempts, because you added a discount code or a sale started, you are now charged the new price. Before, you would have been sent back to the first page and charged the old one.
If you left checkout open overnight and came back, you used to be stuck: you could not pay and could not sign up again. You can now pay.
If a spot opened on a waitlist and you clicked the link in that email, you were being told you were already on the waitlist instead of being let in. You now get the spot.
Joining a waitlist twice is fixed the same way.
Studio staff moving someone into a class they are already signed up for now get told about the clash instead of hitting an error.

v1.67.6 Sep 17, 2026

The announcement composer tells you when you are not allowed to use it

Opening the announcement composer without the rights to send one used to drop you on the propose page with no explanation at all. It now tells you why you were moved.
The Preview, Send test email and Send test push buttons used to do nothing at all when you were not allowed to use them. They now say so.
If you are an admin who is previewing the site as a lower role, the message tells you that sending is an admin action and how to get back to it.

v1.67.5 Sep 17, 2026

The video link on a live class takes a plain address

Editing a live class, the video link box no longer insists on the full web address. Type it the short way and it saves.

v1.66.4 Sep 16, 2026

One screen for managing a class

Instructors and admins now manage a class on the same screen. What you can do there depends on who you are, not on which link you followed.
Guild leads and guild staff can open a class requested under their guild, edit it and write its welcome email, without needing teaching access first.
Classes waiting on your guild's review now sit at the top of the guild's own settings page instead of inside the teaching area.
Old links and bookmarks to the admin class pages still work. They take you to the new screen.
Exporting the whole registrations list to a spreadsheet is now admin only.

v1.65.4 Sep 16, 2026

Positioning a photo from the old class site

A class photo that came over from the old class site is now positioned from the class page: click Preview and use Adjust under the photo. The crop box in the class editor never moved these photos, so it no longer shows for them, and saving your class no longer undoes a spot you picked with Adjust.
Upload your own photo and the crop box comes back as usual.

v1.65.0 Sep 13, 2026

Add an Instagram or Facebook video to your class

A class video no longer has to be from YouTube. Instagram and Facebook links are accepted too, on class pages and on guild and Help FAQs.
A YouTube video still plays right on the class page. An Instagram or Facebook link shows a card that opens the video on their site, so their tracking scripts stay off our pages.

v1.64.0 Sep 13, 2026

Guilds can send orientation signups to their own form

A guild lead can point orientation signups at an outside form, such as a Google Form. Members then see that link where the booking times used to be, and it opens in a new tab. Each orientation type can have its own link too.
Signups made on an outside form are not recorded here, so someone marks people oriented by hand on the Orientations dashboard. The setting says so where you set it.

v1.63.0 Sep 13, 2026

The class composer keeps what you typed

If the page reloads or you close the tab while writing a class, your next visit offers back what you had typed, with the time it was kept and a button to throw it away. It is kept in your own browser, so photos, dates and anything you tick are not part of it. Save your draft for those.
Once a class saves, the kept copy is cleared.

v1.61.0 Sep 13, 2026

The class composer checks each step as you go

Next now stops on the step you are on when a required field is empty, moves you to that field, and says what is missing right beside it. The message clears as soon as you fill it in. Back and the step tabs are never blocked.
Saving a draft, sending a class for review, or publishing it now checks every step first and takes you to the first gap before anything is sent.

v1.60.0 Sep 12, 2026

Every class has a price

The free class checkbox is gone from the class composer. Every class now needs a price of at least $1.00, from the instructor portal and the admin side alike.
A registration whose total reaches $0 through a discount code or a member discount still completes without a payment step.

v1.59.0 Sep 12, 2026

The class composer keeps your work and says what is still missing

When a class is not ready to submit, you now land on the step that needs attention with a Still Missing list, and each line jumps to the field. Before, you could end up on step one with only a short notice that faded.
Submit for review on Manage My Classes is available once the class is ready and says what is missing when it is not. Pressing it twice no longer drops you on the list.
A failed save keeps the price you typed and any date you had started entering. If a class is cancelled while you are editing it, what you typed stays on screen.

v1.58.0 Sep 12, 2026

Flyers and QR downloads unlock when a class is published

The printable flyer and the QR code downloads for a class are available once the class has been approved and published. Before that, the Share and Print card still shows the link and says when they unlock.
A published class now has the Share and Print card on its edit page.

v1.57.0 Sep 12, 2026

Pages opened from inside the app now work on arrival

Opening a page from a link inside the app could leave some controls dead until you refreshed. The class composer's photo tools were the clearest case. Pages you open from inside the app now work on arrival, no refresh needed.

v1.56.0 Sep 12, 2026

The class photo cropper works again

On step 2 of the class composer, the crop frame for your main photo now appears at full size the first time you open the step and every time you come back to it. Before, it stayed a small box, or never appeared at all while creating a new class.
Pick a new photo and the frame appears as soon as the photo has loaded, whether the class is new or already saved.
A crop is saved only when you drag the frame. A photo you never cropped stays uncropped.

v1.55.0 Sep 12, 2026

Skip past the menus with the keyboard

Press Tab on any page and a link appears at the top that jumps past the sidebar and menus straight to the page content. Screen readers announce it too.
The calendar's arrow buttons now tell screen readers what they do: previous week, next week, previous month, next month.

v1.54.0 Sep 10, 2026

A notification settings page you can actually read

Your notification settings used to run to 51 rows. The page now opens with 30, plus a block of ten you can open when you want them.
Notices that belong together are now one switch. Every update about an event you proposed is a single row, and so are the updates about a class you submitted, an announcement you proposed, a space request, a request to host a workshop, and being moved off a waitlist. Turning that row off turns off the whole family. If you had set one of a family on and another off, the row now shows off, and saving the page will switch the rest of that family off too.
The notices you always get by email now sit together in one block called Always emailed. Open it and you can still change push and Discord for the ones that offer them. The email itself stays on, which was already true. It just no longer costs ten rows to say so.
A new class no longer rings your bell, and if you had asked for an email about new classes, that stops too. New classes are still announced in the Discord classes channel.
When someone finishes their orientation, the welcome no longer lands in the other guild members' bells or on their phones. It still posts in Discord, the way it always has.

v1.53.0 Sep 10, 2026

You'll hear about it if your class moves

If we move you from one class to another, you now get an email about it. It names the class you were in and the one you are in now, with the new dates, the time, and where to go. Your booking carries over, so there is nothing for you to do and no need to sign up again.
If you were waiting for a seat rather than holding one, the email says so, and you keep your place in line for the new class.
Admins: requests from members who want to host a workshop now go to the CMS Administrators instead of to every admin. If you want to keep getting them, ask for the CMS Administrator duty on your member page.

v1.52.0 Sep 10, 2026

A tidier teaching portal, and panels that shrink when they are empty

The teaching portal is now called Manage My Classes, and the tab listing your classes is now My Classes. The + New Class button on the first page now looks like the one on the class list, instead of blending into the page.
Emailing your students now opens the same announcement tool the rest of the app uses. Tick the students you want on the Registrations tab, click Email selected students, and the tool opens with exactly those people already chosen. Your message reaches them in the app, on their phone, and by email, rather than by email alone.
Your instructor bio, your photo, and the links shown on your public instructor page can now be edited on the Instructor Profile tab. You are no longer sent off to your profile settings to change them. That photo is the same one members see in the member directory.
The review lists that used to stack up as three tall panels are now one. A list with nothing in it takes up no room at all, and when nothing is waiting anywhere the whole panel shrinks to a single line. Instructors and admins both get this.
On the Home page, Your Upcoming is now Upcoming at Past Lives. It lists what is happening at the space, which was never only the things you signed up for.
Admins: the class admin is now called Manage All Classes. The summary numbers moved above this week's classes, and the activity log moved out of the overview into a tab of its own.

v1.51.0 Sep 9, 2026

The lobby screens fill themselves in

The wall screens now build their own slides from what is already in the app. Classes and workshops happening in the next seven days, a list of what is still to come this month, the guild funding vote and when it closes, the member directory, an invitation to host a workshop, and an invitation to book a tour.
Every guild gets its own slide naming its next meeting or class. A guild with nothing coming up shows its About text instead. Note that a meeting shown this way is readable by anyone standing in the building, not only that guild's members.
Every one of those slides carries a QR code, so anyone walking past can scan it and open the page on their phone.
A screen still needs nothing from you. Point a monitor at its address once; it picks up new slides on its own and restarts itself overnight.
Admins: Slideshow is now its own tile in Admin Tools instead of a tab inside Site Settings, and each automatic slide has its own on and off switch.

v1.48.0 Sep 9, 2026

The whole card in the preview, where the money goes, and imported photos that count

The card preview in the class editor is now the whole catalog card: photo, title, dates, price and spots, at the two widths members see. What you sign off on is what they get.
Classes brought over from the old class site had a photo on their page, but the editor and the submit checklist said they had none. They count now, and you can position them like any other photo.
Host a Workshop has a new Where the Money Goes section showing how a paid class splits between you, Past Lives and your guild. The common questions open and close, and the hosting guide has a clear open button.
Admins: the words on that page moved to their own Teaching Marketing Page under Class Settings, with the same formatting toolbar as announcements instead of Markdown.
Status tooltips on the admin classes list no longer get cut off by the table.

v1.47.0 Sep 9, 2026

A wiki written by members

There is now a Wiki in the sidebar, and you can write in it. It is for how the space, the machines and the materials actually work here, and right now it is empty, so the first page is yours.
Start with the machine you know best. Add a photo from your phone in about thirty seconds, drop in a tip, or write the whole thing.
Every edit is saved as its own version, so nothing you write gets overwritten.

v1.46.0 Sep 9, 2026

Host a workshop, a five step class editor, and card photos that fit

Host a Workshop is now in the sidebar for every member. If you do not teach yet, it opens a page about running a workshop or a class for the shop, with a real workshop page you can open and look at. Tap the interested button, tell us what you have in mind, and the page tells you when an admin has answered. Admins can edit every word of that page from Class Settings.
Becoming an instructor now goes through an admin instead of a self serve unlock. Anyone interested shows up on the classes overview for admins to say yes or not right now, and you get an email either way.
Creating or editing a class is five short steps instead of one long page: the basics, photos, dates and seats, what students need to know, and a final review. Save a draft on any step and come back later.
Your class photo is cropped twice, once for the wide banner on the class page and once for the short strip on the catalog card, and you now position both. The editor shows the card exactly as it looks on a laptop and on a phone, plus a preview of the full class page, before you submit.
Sales moved out of the class form. Put a class on sale from the manage class page, switch it on or off any time, and a Sale pill shows while one is live.
Reviewers now send a response instead of a decision. Asking for changes is normal, and a class can go round as many times as it needs.
Admins can take a live class back to draft in one step. It leaves the catalog right away, nobody is emailed, and everyone already registered keeps their spot.

v1.45.1 Sep 7, 2026

Admins: auto-welcome new members from Airtable

New people added to the membership Airtable can now be emailed their sign-in link automatically once they're marked active, so they know their Past Lives account is ready and can log in. It only emails paying members who are active in Airtable, and never the same person twice.
It's a new switch on Site Settings, under the Automations tab, and it stays off until an admin turns it on.

v1.44.4 Sep 7, 2026

Voting results that reach everyone

When we email out the guild funding results, a few people could be quietly skipped, and there was no way to reach only them afterwards without emailing everyone a second time. Anyone missed in September has since been sent their results, and the site now goes back for the people it missed instead of counting them as done.
Sending results no longer holds up the page while it works. Admins get a confirmation straight away and the emails go out in the background, which is what used to fail partway through on a big send.

v1.44.0 Sep 6, 2026

Sign in with your face or fingerprint

Sign in to the app once with an emailed code, and it can offer to use Face ID or your fingerprint after that. No more waiting for a code every time.
Your phone keeps the key, not us, and it stays locked behind your face or fingerprint. It expires after ninety days if you stop using it.
Settings now lists the devices you are signed in on, so you can sign out a phone you no longer have. It arrives with the next app update.

v1.43.1 Sep 6, 2026

More sign-in codes before we make you wait

If you asked for a sign-in code a few times in a row, we used to stop you after three in an hour and show a message about too many attempts. That was easy to hit by accident, and it locked you out of your own account for a full hour. The limit is now ten an hour.

v1.43.0 Sep 6, 2026

Push notifications on iPhone

Push notifications now work on iPhone and iPad, the same ones Android has had. They start arriving with the next app update.
Settings now has a Push On This Device card. It tells you whether push is working on the phone in your hand, turns it on or off, and says what to do if notifications are switched off for Past Lives in your phone's own settings.

v1.42.1 Sep 6, 2026

Plain-language permissions for admins

Every permission in the Viewing as menu now has a question mark you can hover to read what it does.
Admins can switch their own Instructor access on or off there, without opening their member page.

v1.42.0 Sep 5, 2026

An easier class review page

Reviewing a class now starts with where it stands and what it says, then the decision, with the student preview at the bottom.
The preview shows the class page on its own, with no menus around it, so you see what a student sees.
The readiness checklist spreads across the page on a big screen and tells you how many items are done.

v1.41.0 Sep 5, 2026

A tidier sidebar

Teaching now appears in the sidebar only if you are set up to teach. Want to start? The Help Center's Teaching guide links the instructor orientation. Read it, tick the box, and the portal opens.
Manage Classes moved from the sidebar to Admin Tools, where the other staff tools live.

v1.40.0 Sep 5, 2026

Equipment orientations list the right people

A tool's Orientation Schedule now lists only the people who actually run that tool, its managers and the owning guild's leadership, instead of every council member.
To give orientations on a tool, you are added as a manager on its Staff tab first.

v1.39.0 Sep 5, 2026

Teaching is easier to find and run

Instructors can update a live class's description and photos, ask an admin for bigger changes, cancel a class if plans fall through, take back a submission, and run a finished class again with one click.
Your public instructor page goes live with your first published class.

v1.38.0 Sep 5, 2026

Clearer class status

Every class now shows exactly where it is on a simple review pipeline, Submitted, Guild lead, Admin, Live, with a check for each step that is done. You see it on your class page and in every review email.
If a reviewer asks for changes, their notes show right on your class with a Fix and resubmit button.
A class needs photos, a description, and dates before it can be submitted.
Admins now cancel a live class with a reason and everyone registered is told, while archiving is quiet housekeeping that can be undone.

v1.37.0 Sep 5, 2026

Equipment orientations work like guild orientations

Each tool's managers now post their own weekly orientation hours, the same way guild staff do, and when you book a time you see who you're meeting.
Tool pages list orientation times the same way guild pages do.

v1.36.0 Sep 5, 2026

Orientations and reservations stay out of each other's way

A booked orientation now shows on the tool's schedule and blocks reservations for that time.
A reserved time can't be double booked by an orientation.

v1.35.0 Sep 5, 2026

Book equipment orientations by the hour

Equipment managers can now post weekly orientation hours for a tool, like Saturdays 10 to 6, and the app turns them into bookable time slots automatically.
Pick a day, pick a time, and request it right on the tool's page.

v1.34.2 Sep 4, 2026

One calendar, simpler

The Community Calendar is now just the Calendar.
New events go on the public Google calendar by default, so anyone can see what is happening at the makerspace. You can still mark an event members only when you create it.
The calendar filter chips are simpler: everything public lives under Public Calendar.

v1.33.0 Sep 4, 2026

Attach photos to feedback

The Send Feedback page now takes photos. Attach up to 5 screenshots or pictures (10 MB each) so we can see exactly what you saw.

v1.32.1 Sep 4, 2026

Role preview menu fits on phones

The role preview menu (the eye icon at the top, for admins) now opens fully on phone screens instead of hanging off the edge.

v1.32.0 Sep 3, 2026

Tool orientations on the tool's page

Some equipment needs an orientation before you can reserve it. You can now book that orientation right on the tool's own page. Pick a time, request it, and pay there if it has a fee. Equipment managers post the times and confirm requests from the tool's manage panel.

v1.31.4 Sep 3, 2026

Reservations post to Discord

New equipment bookings now appear in the #reservations Discord channel automatically, so everyone can see when a tool or room gets claimed.

v1.31.3 Sep 3, 2026

Equipment hours get flexible

Equipment hours can now run late into the evening, up to 11:30 at night.
Managers set opening hours once and pick the days those hours apply to, instead of adding a separate row for every day.
The equipment form now says plainly when a tool is Standalone and run by the makerspace.

v1.31.2 Sep 3, 2026

Instructors can move a student to another of their classes

From your class roster, pick Move Student to shift someone into another class you teach. Their registration and payment go with them. The class picker for instructors and admins now lists only classes that have not started yet.

v1.31.1 Sep 3, 2026

Instructors can email their class

The Send Email button on your class page now goes straight to a composer addressed to your registrants. It works even if you do not have a public instructor profile page, and for classes that are not published yet.

v1.31.0 Sep 3, 2026

Class approvals are simpler

When an admin approves a class it now goes live right away, even if a guild lead has not reviewed it yet. CMS Administrators can open the class review pages their notifications point to. Guild leads can also see classes they approved that are still waiting on admin sign off.

v1.30.2 Sep 3, 2026

Broken greetings gone from Discord DMs and phone alerts

Some Discord direct messages and phone notifications opened with a broken greeting and a missing name. They now use the same clean short text as your in app notifications. Admins also no longer get a stray message meant for an instructor when a class enters review.

v1.30.1 Sep 3, 2026

Quieter guild Discord channels

Approving meeting minutes no longer posts anything to Discord. You still get your in app notification, and an email if you have that turned on.

v1.30.0 Sep 3, 2026

Reserve time on equipment

Pick a free time on a tool's schedule and it is yours right away. See the week at a glance, book in a couple of taps, get a calendar invite, and cancel if plans change. Tool managers set the hours and the rules.

v1.29.0 Sep 3, 2026

Equipment directory

Meet the new Equipment page in the sidebar. Browse the makerspace's shared tools and rooms, see what each one needs before you can use it, and book the orientation for a tool right from its page.

v1.28.3 Sep 3, 2026

Cleaner Discord posts for approved meeting minutes

When a guild approves its meeting minutes, the post in the guild's Discord channel is now a short announcement with a link to the minutes, instead of a broken personal looking message.

v1.28.2 Sep 3, 2026

Paid orientation bookings confirm right away

After paying for an orientation, the page now confirms your booking right away instead of leaving you on a spinner while we wait to hear back from the payment processor.

v1.28.1 Sep 3, 2026

Clearer guild class counts

The class counter on each guild page now tells you how many classes are open for sign up and how many already ran, instead of one combined number.
The orientation booking section gained a small question mark that explains which email address your booking updates arrive at.

v1.28.0 Sep 3, 2026

Choose where your notifications land

If you have more than one verified email on your account, you can now pick which one receives your notification emails. The picker lives in Settings on the Account tab, inside the email card. Leave it on the default and notifications keep going to your primary email. If you later remove or unverify the chosen address, notifications quietly return to your primary email on their own.

v1.27.2 Sep 3, 2026

Orientation guides updated

The Getting Oriented and Running Orientations help articles now cover the new open time windows: picking a start time as a member, and posting availability blocks as an orienter. The in app help hints on those sections link straight to the new guidance.

v1.27.1 Sep 3, 2026

Safer announcement defaults

Announcements from a guild without its own Discord channel used to preselect the makerspace wide channel with a ping to everyone. The default is now no ping and no shared channel; both remain available as deliberate choices.

v1.27.0 Sep 3, 2026

Pick your own orientation time

Orienters can now post open blocks of time, and you book the start that suits you inside the block. The app only offers times that actually fit the orientation's length and are not already taken. Orienters post and manage their blocks from the orientations dashboard.

v1.26.0 Sep 3, 2026

Guilds can offer more than one orientation

A guild can now run several kinds of orientations, each with its own name, length, price, and seat count. Think Shop Basics, Lathe, and CNC in Wood. Guild pages group upcoming times by kind, you can be oriented in one kind while signing up for another, and guild leads manage the list from the editor's Orientations tab.

v1.25.0 Sep 3, 2026

Meet your studio neighbors

Clicking an occupied studio on the Spaces map can now introduce you to who works there, with their photo, pronouns, and skills. Sharing is opt in and off by default: flip Show me on the Spaces map in Settings if you want members to find you. Names on the map are also members only now; visitors who are not signed in just see that a space is taken.

v1.24.0 Sep 2, 2026

Write your own pronouns

Pronouns are a free text field now, so combinations like she/him fit. If you had picked prefer not to share before, the field is simply blank now, and the visibility toggle next to it still controls who sees it.

v1.23.2 Sep 2, 2026

Space agreements, not leases

The app no longer talks about leasing. Studio requests, reminder emails, and review screens all say space agreement now, which is what we actually have.

v1.23.1 Sep 2, 2026

Guild voting asks for all three picks

Casting a guild vote now requires all three choices, worth 5, 3, and 2 points. This matches the voting policy; before this, a ballot could carry just a 1st choice.

v1.23.0 Sep 2, 2026

Assign guild leads from the app

Admins can now set or replace a guild's lead right on the guild editor Staff tab. Adding a Co-Lead now takes an admin as well, and the Orientator role is spelled Orienter everywhere.

v1.22.6 Sep 2, 2026

Sign up with your name

Signing up now asks for your name, and optionally the name you go by. Before this, brand new accounts showed up in rosters and the directory as a lowercase piece of their email address until someone fixed it by hand.

v1.22.5 Sep 2, 2026

Featured class picker shows dates

Guild leads picking a featured class could grab last year's run by accident, because old runs kept showing up with identical names. The picker now lists only classes people can still sign up for, each with its next session date, and the featured card on the guild page shows the date too.

v1.22.4 Sep 2, 2026

Class page heading tidy up

The heading at the bottom of a class page could repeat the word class twice in a row. It now reads More classes like this instead.

v1.22.3 Sep 2, 2026

The API pages fit your phone

The Member Portal API pages rendered oversized on phones with no way to zoom out. They now fit the screen like every other page.

v1.22.2 Sep 2, 2026

Connect your Discord works from the checklist

Clicking Connect your Discord on the home page Get Started list did nothing. It now takes you to Discord to link your account, like it always should have.

v1.22.1 Sep 2, 2026

Welcome email preview works again

The welcome email preview in the guild editor was showing a blank white box instead of the email. It shows the real email again, on every device.

v1.22.0 Sep 2, 2026

Welcome Email, plus a new admin switch

The guild Welcome Packet is now called the Welcome Email everywhere, which is what it always was: one friendly email when you join a guild.
Admins got a new switch in Site Settings that can pause guild welcome emails for the whole site. It stays on unless an admin flips it.

v1.21.2 Sep 1, 2026

Videos play again

Videos on guild pages, in FAQ answers, and on the Help page were showing a player error instead of playing. They work now.

v1.21.1 Aug 30, 2026

Bigger photo uploads

You can now upload photos up to 10 MB, so pictures straight from your phone go through without shrinking them first. This applies to your profile photo, guild gallery photos, and class images.

v1.21.0 Aug 28, 2026

Take a guided tour

New guided tours walk you through the member portal and drive the navigation for you, hopping from page to page while they explain each part. There is a tour for members, one for instructors, one for guild leads, and one for admins. Click Show me around on your home page, or start one any time from the Help page, and you can turn tours on or off in Settings.

v1.20.0 Aug 27, 2026

Join your favorite guilds

Every guild page now has a Join This Guild button. Joining adds you to the guild's roster, puts a badge on your member directory card, keeps you in the loop on that guild's announcements, and lets you sign up for its orientations. When you join you can choose to get a welcome guide by email, and guild leads can write their own welcome note. You can leave a guild any time.

v1.19.1 Aug 27, 2026

Smoother orientation checkout

If your guild charges for orientations, tapping Continue to Payment now opens our secure checkout right away. We also tidied up how guild calendars respond when you hover over an event.

v1.19.0 Aug 27, 2026

Orientations get their own tab on guild pages

Finding and booking an orientation is easier now: every guild page has its own Orientations tab instead of tucking it under the calendar. For guild leads, editing your orientation hours opens in a quick popup instead of reloading the whole page, and you can turn off member announcement suggestions if you prefer.

v1.18.0 Aug 27, 2026

A friendlier Settings page

Settings is easier to get around now. Guilds is the first tab, and the notifications list is reordered with orientations, guilds, and events up top plus quick links to jump between sections and a back to top button. Your email addresses now live with your account details, and if you change a bunch of notification toggles we ask before you leave so you do not lose them.

v1.17.0 Aug 27, 2026

Cleaner admin Payments area

For admins and billing helpers, the Payments dashboard now hides the member Tab sections when My Tab is switched off, so the page shows only what applies. Payments and Reports also moved into Admin Tools instead of the sidebar.

v1.16.0 Aug 27, 2026

See just the classes you teach or run

The admin class list and the registrations list now have a My Classes filter, so if you teach or run classes you can jump straight to only yours instead of scrolling the whole makerspace. It stays put as you search, sort, and page through the results.

v1.15.0 Aug 27, 2026

Managing a class roster is tidier

If you teach or help run a class, every action on your roster now lives in one neat menu on each row instead of a row full of buttons. The menu still does everything it did (refunds, payment links, marking someone paid, removing a student) and adds two handy shortcuts: jump to a person's full details, or email them in one click.

v1.14.0 Aug 27, 2026

Guilds can charge for orientations

Some orientations now have a price. You pay when you book, right on the booking page, and your spot is held while you check out. If the orienter cannot make it work or you cancel, your money comes back automatically. Free orientations work exactly like before.

v1.13.0 Aug 27, 2026

Orientation slots now show who runs them

Guild staff can each post their own orientation hours, so booking a slot now tells you exactly who you will meet. Your request goes straight to that person, and your confirmation email says who is expecting you. Staff who have not posted hours yet get a nudge on the orientations dashboard.

v1.12.0 Aug 27, 2026

Follow guilds instead of joining them

Guilds are now something you follow for updates, not something you sign up for. The first time you log in we ask which guilds you want to hear from, and you can change your picks anytime in Settings under Guild Updates. The member directory also no longer lists guilds next to names.

v1.11.0 Aug 26, 2026

Instructors can manage their class rosters

Teachers and class admins can now move someone from the waitlist straight into a class, email them a payment link if the class costs money, record cash payments, and remove a registration when plans change. If you are on a waitlist, you will get a clear email the moment a teacher adds you, with a simple way to pay.

v1.10.0 Aug 26, 2026

Refunds without leaving the app

If a class does not work out, staff can now send your money back in a couple of clicks, and a receipt lands in your inbox right away. No more waiting while someone digs through a separate payments site. Behind the scenes, admins also got one Payments page that shows every charge in one place.

v1.9.6 Aug 26, 2026

Delete an event right from its edit page

Editing an event now has a Delete button, so admins and guild leads can remove one without going back to the calendar list. A confirmation explains exactly what happens before anything is deleted.

v1.9.5 Aug 26, 2026

Interested on a Discord event now counts as an RSVP

Hit Interested on any Past Lives event in Discord's Events tab and you will show up on that event's attendee list, right beside everyone who used the RSVP button or the event page. Clear your Interested mark and the sync takes you back off. One list, three ways onto it.

v1.9.4 Aug 26, 2026

RSVP to events, plus friendlier /create and /poll forms

Creating events and polls in Discord is simpler now. Both /create and /poll open a short fill in form, so you just type the details and submit. Event announcements got a glow up too: each one shows the time, how long it runs, where it is, and who is coming, with an RSVP button that updates the list live. Click RSVP again to take it back. Organizers and guild leads get a Manage button for quick edits and cancellations, whoever starts a poll can end it early with the little gear, and the event page on the hub shows who is coming as well.

v1.9.1 Aug 26, 2026

Rebrand cleanup

We retired the old Do It Together tagline from the member portal and our emails. We are Past Lives Makerspace everywhere now.

v1.9.0 Aug 26, 2026

Post polls with /poll

Ask the room anything with /poll in Discord. Type your question and answers, pick how long voting stays open, and the bot posts a native Discord poll right in the channel. This replaces the old sesh bot's /poll.

v1.8.0 Aug 25, 2026

Create community events right from Discord with /create

Type /create in Discord, describe when in plain words like next friday 6pm, check the preview, and confirm. Leads publish instantly and everyone else's idea goes to the review queue, with the decision sent back to you as a Discord DM. Use /cancel to withdraw or cancel one of your events. Our old event bot sesh has retired.

v1.7.0 Aug 24, 2026

Meeting Agendas Get More Flexible

Council meeting agendas are now open to ideas from every active member, and meeting editors can send in ideas the same way. Everything goes to leadership for review.
Meetings now show a clear status everywhere: Draft, Published, or Approved.
A published agenda can go back to draft for more edits, right from the meeting page.
Guild pages now list recent meetings that are still waiting on their minutes.

v1.6.1 Aug 24, 2026

Class links in Discord go to the right place

Links in the #classes Discord channel (new class announcements and the weekly digest) now take you straight to classes.pastlives.space, where class sign-ups currently live.

v1.6.0 Aug 24, 2026

Delete your account, right from the app

You can now delete your account from Settings, under a new Account tab. It removes your personal info from Past Lives for good and signs you out everywhere. If you ever want to come back, ask a guild lead or admin to send you a new invite.

v1.5.0 Aug 23, 2026

Want Your Work Featured? Tell Us on Your Profile

Profile Settings has a new Marketing Opportunities question. Say yes and the Past Lives team may reach out about highlighting your art or business on our Instagram, website, or email newsletter. It starts as a no, and your answer is private — it never appears on your directory card.

v1.5.0 Aug 23, 2026

Class Pages Now Cover Your Arrival

Every class page answers a new question: what do I do once I arrive? Our doors are locked, so your instructor meets you at the front door 10 minutes before class — and if you don't see anyone, knock!
Your instructor's introduction now sits right below the class schedule, so you meet your teacher before the fine print.

v1.5.0 Aug 23, 2026

For Instructors: Photos, Rosters, and Discount Codes

A class now needs two photos before it can go to review: its own hero image plus at least one gallery photo. Real photos of the work get real sign-ups.
Your class rosters are view-only in the portal now — the download button is gone, so student details stay inside the Member Portal.
Need a discount code for your class? Ask an admin — they create and approve all codes now.

v1.4.0 Aug 21, 2026

Add Your Website and Social Links to Your Profile

Your profile settings now have a Website section and a Social section (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and more). Add as many links as you like, and choose where each one shows: on your directory card, on your instructor page, both, or neither.

v1.4.0 Aug 21, 2026

Discount Codes Are Now Created by Admins

Instructors no longer create their own discount codes. An admin creates and approves them now. Need one for your class? Ask an admin.

v1.3.0 Aug 19, 2026

New guides for instructors and guild leads

Two new Quickstart guides in the Help Center map out everything you can do: one for instructors (create a class, run your roster, welcome emails, discount codes) and one for guild leads and staff (your guild page, orientations, announcements, and more). Each links a living example you can study: a fully built fictional guild and a finished example class page.
A new Announcement Composer guide covers the whole sending tool — including how push notifications work, the short phone line you can write, and what Mark as Urgent really does.
Guided tours are listed for everyone they fit — including a tour of the guild lead tools — and every tour now ends by pointing you at its guide.
Help guides can now include short video walkthroughs, and titles across Help and the tours got a consistent-casing polish.
The Home page now shows an Admin Tools shortcut to everyone who has it in their sidebar (admins, guild leads and staff, instructors), and Admin Tools links each role's Quickstart guide.

v1.2.0 Aug 18, 2026

The app is now the Member Portal

We've renamed the app: what you knew as FOG is now the Past Lives Member Portal. You'll see the new name in the top-left and throughout. Same app, clearer name, and nothing you do changes.

v1.2.0 Aug 18, 2026

New guide: control your notifications

A new Help Center guide walks you through your notification settings: how to choose exactly which emails and Discord messages you get, flag the ones you can't miss, and turn off anything you don't want. It's the first thing under Getting Started in Help.
Worth a look at launch: a few important updates are on by default so nobody misses something that matters. Take a minute to set your preferences the way you like them.

v1.1.4 Aug 17, 2026

Instructors can message their class

Past Lives is officially out of beta. Thanks for helping us get here.
Instructors can now send an announcement to everyone signed up for their class. You get it in your notification bell, as a push on your phone, and by email.
The people who send announcements (guild leads, guild staff, instructors, and admins) now have a single Announcements tab in the sidebar to write and send them from.
Announcement push notifications now show a clean, short line on your phone instead of a cut-off email. Whoever sends the announcement can also write a custom short version just for the phone.

v1.1.3 Aug 17, 2026

New guide: how the calendar syncs

A new Help Center guide explains how events stay in sync across FOG, the Google calendars, and Discord, and where to create or edit an event so it behaves. Find it under Help, in the 'Contributing & under the hood' section.

v1.1.2 Aug 17, 2026

All-day events show on the right day

All-day events (an all-day social, a work party, and the like) were showing up a day early on the calendar and in the Discord announcements. They now land on their correct date.

v1.1.1 Aug 17, 2026

Cleaner, more accurate calendar announcements

The Discord calendar channel now only announces events happening within the next three months. It had been surfacing recurring meetings that were still months away, so those far-off notices are gone. An event still gets its announcement once it comes within three months, so nothing is lost.
When an event is rescheduled to a new day or time, it no longer leaves a leftover copy on the old date. The calendar, the announcements, and the Discord event list now show it once, on the right day.

v1.1.0 Aug 15, 2026

Join events online with a video link

Events can now include a video link. When an organizer adds one, you'll see a "Join online" button on the event so you can hop into the meeting in one click. The link rides along to Google Calendar and Discord too.

v1.0.3 Aug 14, 2026

Suggest agenda items right from the meetings list

Every upcoming meeting on the Meetings page now lets that guild's members add a suggested topic in a quick popup. You no longer have to open the draft agenda to put something forward.
Guild leads can now kick off next month's agenda in one click, right from the meetings area, instead of hunting for where to begin.
When a lead locks a meeting, any suggestions that were not discussed are no longer quietly dropped. The lead chooses to carry each one over to next month or set it aside, and you are told which happened to yours.

v1.0.3 Aug 14, 2026

Pages fit your phone better

Some pages (guild pages and a few others) could slide sideways on a phone. They now fit the width of your screen, no more accidental horizontal scrolling.
For leads and admins: the Manage Members page also stacks and wraps cleanly on phones instead of running off the edge.

v1.0.2 Aug 14, 2026

A smoother hub on your phone

On phones, the top bar no longer runs past the edge of the screen or lets the whole page slide sideways.
On phones, your notification bell now sits right in the top bar, and tapping your profile photo opens settings, dark mode, and log out.
The space map opens larger and easier to read on phones now. Drag to move around it, and pinch to zoom.

v1.0.1 Aug 13, 2026

Guild wishlists: ask for the gear you need

Every guild page has a new Wishlist tab. Guild leads can list the tools, materials, and equipment they're hoping someone will donate (a pug mill, kiln shelves, an instrument library, you name it), and add a link where people can donate to that guild directly.

v1.0.1 Aug 13, 2026

Updated class cancellation policy

We've simplified our class cancellation policy. Cancel 48+ hours ahead and there's no fee: just email classes@pastlives.space so we can offer your seat to someone on the waitlist. For cancellations inside 48 hours and no-shows, there's no fee either, but those seats aren't refundable. Emergencies are still handled case by case, so reach out and we'll work with you.
Class pages no longer suggest classes whose dates have already passed.

v1.0.0 Aug 13, 2026

Past Lives 1.0 is here — our official launch

This is the official 1.0 launch of the Past Lives app. Thank you for helping us build it. Here's what's new.
Every email got a clean refresh: a lighter, easier-to-read white-background look across the board.
Manage your own notifications, or unsubscribe, straight from any email footer. No sign-in needed.
Finish a guild orientation and you'll now get a thank-you email automatically; guilds can personalize it or turn it off.
Guild and site-wide announcements have a new 'mark as urgent' option that reaches even members who have turned that email off.
Approval and admin alerts are organized now: admins hand out specific duties (like Class Administrator), and only those folks get and can act on the matching requests. They all live in one 'Staff & leadership' group in your notification settings, and regular members don't see it.
When you create a meeting you can now set how long it runs, not just when it starts.
On the interactive space map, admins can click an available space to flip it to Reserved (click again to switch it back); hold Alt and click for the full editor.
Canceling a class registration now removes that class's Mailchimp tags, so you stop getting marketing emails for it.

v0.26.0 Aug 12, 2026

Meetings: agenda building, upvotes, and publishing

Adding agenda topics is now instant: just type in the box at the bottom of the agenda and hit Add. No more clicking to create an empty item first.
Click any agenda topic to expand it and edit the details. Tap the pencil icon or the row itself — they both work.
Any member can +1 an agenda topic to signal they really want to discuss it. Counts show on the row so the council can see what's on people's minds.
Guild leads and council can now publish an agenda once it's ready. Look for the Publish agenda button at the top of the meeting page.
Delete a topic from the row (trash icon) or from inside the topic detail — both open a confirmation before removing.

v0.25.0 Aug 11, 2026

Come build FOG with us — it's open source

The Help Center has a new section: Contributing & under the hood. FOG's code has always been public on GitHub, and now there's a guide that shows you how to report bugs, suggest features, or submit changes yourself — including a plain-language explanation of how a pull request works. No coding experience required to get involved.
The FOG API is now documented. Any member can browse live guild, event, and announcement data straight from their browser, and the guide covers how to get a token if you want to build a bot, dashboard, or integration of your own.
Curious how the app actually works? New guides explain the tech FOG runs on, how passwordless login and your account emails work, and how the Fog Bot connects FOG to our Discord.

v0.24.1 Aug 11, 2026

Every guild meeting now has a live agenda page that becomes the minutes

There's a new Meetings section in the sidebar. Every guild meeting — and the council meeting — gets one page that starts as the agenda before the meeting and becomes the official minutes after, with attendance, discussion notes, and action items all in one place.
Got something you want discussed? You can suggest agenda topics for an upcoming meeting right from its meeting page. Guild leadership reviews each one, and when yours is approved you're credited on the item.
Action items carry over from meeting to meeting until they're checked off, so nothing falls through the cracks between meetings.
If a meeting has a video call link, a Join meeting button shows up everywhere the meeting appears — one click and you're in.
Browse any guild's past minutes (and the council's) in the Meetings archive, with filters by guild and year.
Your guild's old meeting notes moved over automatically — they're all in the new Meetings section, attachments included.

v0.24.0 Aug 11, 2026

A real Help Center

The Help page grew into a full Help Center. Every guide now has its own page, and the guides are organized by what you're trying to do — getting started, guilds, taking classes, and events & community.
There's a search box now. Type what you're stuck on, like 'book an orientation', and the matching guides come up with the relevant line highlighted.
The how-to guides walk you through step by step, with screenshots of the actual app so you can see exactly where to click.
It's not just for members: instructors get guides on creating and running their classes, and guild leads get guides on running their guild page, orientations, and announcements.
Guided tours now show you around in the app itself. New members get a 30-second spotlight tour of the hub, and there are tours for guild leads and instructors too. Take one anytime from the Help page, or turn tours off in Settings.
There's also a new Info View: flip it on from the top bar and hover anything highlighted to get a plain-language explanation right there, with a link to the full guide.
Become an instructor: a short orientation now walks you through what we expect, how class review works, and the quality bar. Complete it once and the teaching portal unlocks automatically — no waiting on an admin. Already taught a class? You're grandfathered in.

v0.23.61 Aug 11, 2026

Emails got a fresh coat of paint and clearer wording

Emails from Past Lives now use a clean white background around the navy card, so they're easier to read — especially on phones.
Every email now says Past Lives Makerspace, and the wording across dozens of emails is shorter and friendlier: class confirmations, waitlist updates, orientation emails, tab and lease notices, voting reminders, and more.
If a class is cancelled or a space request doesn't work out, the email now has a button to help you find another class or space.

v0.23.60 Aug 10, 2026

Photos now fit your screen, especially on phones

Some photos — guild icons and logos especially — could show up way too big on a phone and spill off the edge of the screen. Every photo across the site now automatically resizes to fit, so pages look right no matter what device you're using.
On the class booking pages, each class photo now fills its space on phones instead of showing as a tiny thumbnail floating in an empty box.

v0.23.58 Aug 9, 2026

Guild vote reminders and results now go to every member

A few days before the monthly vote closes, everyone with an account gets a reminder email. If you've already voted, it shows your current picks. If you haven't, it tells you where to go. Starting end of August, there's also an @everyone post in #general-member-chat with the live standings.
When the vote closes and results are tallied, every member gets a results email that shows, guild by guild, how the funding pool was split — a visual bar chart with the dollar amount and share for each guild, just like the standings on the voting page. Voters also see a recap of their own ballot. The email goes out automatically — no admin needs to click 'send'.
The results @everyone post to #general-member-chat also starts at the end of August.

v0.23.57 Aug 9, 2026

Behind-the-scenes fixes for Discord sync

The nightly sync to Discord's Events tab could miss a few events if Discord asked us to slow down partway through. It now waits a moment and tries again, so every event makes it over.
If you reacted in #choose-your-guild but the bot could not send you a DM, that used to block the 'link your Discord' reminder for everyone who reacted after you too. That is fixed: your reminder is now marked as sent and everyone else still gets theirs.

v0.23.55 Aug 9, 2026

Admin: one switch moves Stripe billing between test and live mode

The Payments settings now hold two full sets of Stripe keys at once, a test set and a live set, so an admin can save both and never has to paste keys back and forth.
A single Testing Mode switch decides which set every charge, card setup, and webhook uses. Turn it off to go live and start charging real cards; turn it back on to return to safe test mode.
Flipping to live mode asks for confirmation first, since real cards get charged from that point on.

v0.23.54 Aug 9, 2026

Admin tools: manual event sync, re-announce, and a terminal shortcut

Admins can now force-sync any Community Calendar event to Google Calendar and the Discord events list with one API call -- handy when an event falls out of sync after a brief outage.
A separate call lets admins re-send an event's in-app notification, email, and Discord announcement without touching Google Calendar -- useful for a quiet correction or a nudge to members who missed it.
A new 'fog' terminal tool gives admins a fast command-line shortcut to list, read, create, sync, and announce events, and to list members and guilds, all from a shell prompt.

v0.23.52 Aug 7, 2026

Get class and event news by email

When you create an account you can now tick a box to hear about new classes, workshops, and events. It is off unless you tick it, and every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
Before, the only place to opt in was the class booking form, so anyone who made an account without booking a class had no way to sign up.
If you already opted in when booking a class, we won't keep asking you.

v0.23.51 Aug 7, 2026

Usage measurement now covers all of FOG

The last update said the staff admin area was left out of usage measurement. It is no longer left out. Staff pages are now measured the same way as member pages.
This is still anonymous, aggregate usage data through Google Analytics. What you type into a search box, and the email address in a sign-in link, are now removed before anything is sent. The Privacy Policy has the details.

v0.23.50 Aug 6, 2026

Usage measurement now covers the Member Hub

We already measured which pages get used on the main site and on class pages. That now covers the Member Hub too, so we can see which tools members actually use and put our time where it helps most.
This is anonymous, aggregate usage data through Google Analytics. It does not include your name or your email address. The Privacy Policy has the details.
The staff admin area is still excluded, the same as before.

v0.23.49 Jul 29, 2026

Clearer answers to the top class questions

The cancellation policy on every class page now shows the full policy: 48-hour cutoff, the $50 late fee breakdown, emergency exceptions handled case-by-case, and the right email address to reach us.
The accessibility answer is honest: we have a ramp to the first floor but are not yet ADA accessible. If you have questions about a specific class, studios@pastlives.space is the place to ask.
The 'no experience needed' question is reworded to match what instructors actually say: classes are for all skill levels, and each listing notes if any prior experience helps.

v0.23.48 Jul 30, 2026

Better on your phone

Every page now fits phone screens properly. No more cramped rows, tabs wrapping onto two lines, or buttons hiding under the feedback bubble.
Class pages now follow your light-or-dark theme choice instead of always being light.
Guild pages only suggest becoming a member if you aren't one yet.

v0.23.47 Jul 30, 2026

The guild vote email got a refresh

The monthly guild vote reminder has a cleaner look with the Past Lives logo, and it now shows your ranked picks laid out clearly, how many members have voted so far, and the size of the funding pool.
Guild leads and officers now get their own heads-up a few days before the vote closes, with live turnout numbers, so they can nudge their guilds to vote in time.

v0.23.46 Jul 29, 2026

Moving around the Spaces map now works everywhere

Dragging the Spaces map (mouse or finger) now pans on every floor. Before, panning silently did nothing on some floors no matter how far you zoomed in.
The map sits in a shorter frame, so a tall floor starts cropped and you can drag or two-finger swipe around it right away, no zooming first.
On a phone or tablet, a two-finger swipe now moves the map while a pinch zooms it, the way a maps app behaves.

v0.23.45 Jul 28, 2026

Discord events now show the right day

Evening events in the Discord server's Events tab could appear one day early. Parallel Play showed Wednesday when it actually meets Thursday 5 to 8 PM. Recurring evening events now land on the correct day.

v0.23.44 Jul 28, 2026

Add calendar events straight from Discord

You can now add a Community Calendar event without leaving Discord. Run `/create-event` with the event's name, date, and start time.
Guild leads and admins post instantly; everyone else's event goes to a quick review first, exactly like proposing one on the website.
Choose the guild it belongs to (or General), pick the members-only or public calendar, set an end time or a length in minutes, and optionally email members about it.

v0.23.43 Jul 27, 2026

Post announcements right from Discord

Guild leads and admins can now post an announcement without leaving Discord, using the new /create-announcement command. Pick who hears it (the whole space, or one guild) and it lands in Discord and in the app at the same time.
Big pings stay safe: if you choose to ping @everyone, @here, or a guild's role, the bot shows you a private preview first and only posts when you tap Confirm.

v0.23.42 Jul 27, 2026

Add members directly, and a tidier invites list

Organizers can now add a new member straight from Manage Members, without sending an invite first. The new person can sign in right away with a one-time login code emailed to them; there's no password to set and no invite step to wait on.
The invites list stays tidy: expired invites are tucked behind a count instead of piling up, and a single Clear expired button clears them all at once. Resend and Revoke still work for anything shown.

v0.23.41 Jul 27, 2026

Two-finger swipe to move around the Spaces map

On the Spaces map, a two-finger trackpad swipe (or a scroll) now pans around the floor, the way you'd expect on a Mac. Pinch or Ctrl+scroll still zooms, and the plus and minus buttons work as before.

v0.23.40 Jul 27, 2026

Cleaner Discord posts and event calendar

The weekly class and calendar digests no longer repeat several times on Monday mornings.
The community calendar Discord channel now shows events only, so classes and open studio hours no longer clutter it.
Fixed a class that was showing the wrong instructor's name.

v0.23.38 Jul 24, 2026

Explore the makerspace on an interactive map

There's a new Spaces page in the sidebar with a real map of the building. Pick a floor and every studio and shop is drawn to shape and colour-coded at a glance — green for open, grey for taken, amber for under maintenance — with its size and monthly price written right in the room. Drag to pan, pinch or scroll to zoom, and tap any space for the full details and who's in it.
A space that belongs to a guild now links straight to that guild's page: open a shop or studio on the map, and its guild's name in the details is a tap away from everything that guild is about.
Prefer not to use the map? The Listings tab has every space in a plain table you can read and use with a keyboard. It follows the floor you picked, puts the available spaces first, and you can search it or filter it down to just what's open.
Everything else that used to share that page now has its own Help page, further down the sidebar: parking and arrival, who to contact, the FAQ, the code of conduct, and the handbook links. Old links to the map still work.
The new Help page opens with plain-language guides to how the makerspace works: guilds, orientations, guild voting, taking and teaching classes, the community calendar, connecting Discord, and your notification settings. Each guide has its own link so you can jump straight to the one you need. There's also a new Wiki link in the sidebar that opens the makerspace's full knowledge base in a new tab.
See a space you want? Ask for it right there. Your request goes to the makerspace admins, and you'll get an email and a notification when they answer. Nothing is charged automatically; a human sorts the paperwork out with you.
Changed your mind? Your open requests show on the same page with a Withdraw button, and you can ask again later.

v0.23.25 Jul 22, 2026

Class photos now load faster

Class photos are now served from our own storage instead of being fetched from the old class website every time a page opened. Browsing the class catalog should feel noticeably quicker, and the pictures keep working once the old site is switched off.

v0.23.21 Jul 22, 2026

Important notices now reach you by email, not just the bell

A handful of things that really matter were only ever showing up as a notification in the app, so they were easy to miss. From now on they email you too: a class you booked being cancelled, a refund going out, a charge an admin adds to your tab, your tab getting close to its limit, and your studio lease coming up for renewal. Each one now spells out the details — which class, how much, which space, what date — instead of a one-line nudge.
Booked a class as a guest, without a Past Lives account? Cancellation and refund emails now reach you too. Before, they only went to people with accounts, so guests heard nothing at all.
Fixed: if you'd invited more than one person to Past Lives, only the very first acceptance ever notified you. Every invite you send now tells you when it's accepted.

v0.23.20 Jul 22, 2026

Guild and account links from the class site now show a proper 'page not found'

Opening a guild page, member directory, settings, or billing link while you were on the class-booking site showed an error page instead of telling you the page isn't available there. Those links now land on a friendly 'we couldn't find that page' message with a way back to browsing classes — and they still work as normal when you're signed in on the member hub.

v0.23.20 Jul 22, 2026

Picked a guild on Discord but not linked yet? The bot now gives you a heads-up

If you react in #choose-your-guild to join a guild but your Discord isn't connected to your Past Lives account yet, the bot now sends you a one-time DM letting you know you're only halfway done — with the link to finish connecting. Once you're linked, your existing reaction counts automatically, no re-reacting needed.

v0.23.17 Jul 21, 2026

Guild-funding voting comes to Discord: /voting and /vote

Type /voting in the Past Lives Discord to see this month's live guild-funding standings as a bar graph — every guild (even the ones still at zero), medals for the top three, and when the cycle closes. The standings reply is visible to everyone in the channel, so anyone can check the race at a glance.
With /vote you can cast or change your ballot without leaving Discord — pick your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice guilds from the dropdowns and it saves instantly, exactly like voting on the page. Your own picks stay private: only you see the /vote reply.

v0.23.16 Jul 21, 2026

Browse the member directory right in Discord with /members

Type /members in the Past Lives Discord to flip through member profile cards — photos, skills, guilds, and the contact info each member has chosen to share — with Prev/Next buttons to page through and optional guild and search filters.
It follows the exact same privacy rules as the app's directory: only listed members appear, hidden fields stay hidden, and the reply is visible only to you. Editing your card still happens in the app, under Settings → Directory.

v0.23.15 Jul 21, 2026

Classes can now go on sale

Instructors can put a class on sale with a percent or dollar discount — look for the bright sale banner on the class page and the original price crossed out next to the new one. You'll always see the sale price before you pay.
Instructors: there's a new Sale section on your class edit page — flip the toggle, pick the discount, and optionally write your own banner headline.

v0.23.12 Jul 21, 2026

The member directory is now members-only by default

The member directory now asks visitors to sign in before it shows anything — so your card, contact info, and photo are visible only to fellow members unless the makerspace deliberately opens it up. A new site setting lets admins make the directory fully public again if that's ever wanted.
The directory listing toggle in your profile settings now reads Hidden / Public, to make clearer what switching it on means.

v0.23.11 Jul 21, 2026

Class updates now land in Discord's #classes channel

Every Monday morning, the #classes channel on Discord gets a digest of the week's classes — day by day, with times, instructors, and links to sign up — plus a section of flexible-scheduling classes you can book anytime.
And whenever a new class is published, a short post announces it in the channel right away with the date, price, and a sign-up link.

v0.23.10 Jul 21, 2026

The #important-info channel now stays current automatically

The pinned links post in Discord's #important-info channel — classes, the Community Calendar, the Code of Conduct, and the Past Lives app — is now managed from the app, so when a link changes the post updates right away instead of going stale.
The bot-commands guide in that same post now builds itself from the bot's actual slash commands, so any new command shows up there automatically.

v0.23.9 Jul 21, 2026

The #public-calendar channel is back in business

Every Monday morning, the #public-calendar channel on Discord now gets a digest of everything happening at the makerspace in the week ahead — events, guild meetings, and classes — grouped by day, with links to each one.
And whenever a new event or class lands on the Community Calendar, a short post announces it in the channel right away, so you never miss something new.
Want the whole picture? The full calendar is always at https://members.pastlives.space/calendar/.

v0.23.8 Jul 21, 2026

calendar.pastlives.space — an easy address for the Community Calendar

There's now a short, shareable address for the Community Calendar: calendar.pastlives.space takes you straight there. Handy for flyers, Discord, and telling a friend.

v0.23.7 Jul 21, 2026

The Events tab now lists everything on the calendar

The Community Calendar's Events tab used to show only community events, so guild meetings, classes, and subscribed-calendar events were missing. It now lists every event on the calendar, in order, with easy paging through the full list.
Each event's title is now a link straight to its page — tap it (or the new "More Info" link) to see the details and register.

v0.23.6 Jul 21, 2026

See every event on a busy calendar day

On the Community Calendar, a packed day used to hide extra events behind a small "+3" tag. Now you can click that tag to expand the day and see everything on it — then click "Show less" to tuck it back. Works in both the week and month views.

v0.23.5 Jul 21, 2026

Class pages: your own Q&A and a photo gallery by the signup button

Teachers can now edit the "Questions" section on their class page — reword the standard questions, add your own, or remove ones that don't fit. Classes that haven't customized anything keep the familiar defaults.
A class's extra photos now show up in a gallery right under the registration card, so they're easy to browse while you're deciding to sign up.

v0.23.4 Jul 21, 2026

Community Calendar events are back — and coming to Discord

The Member and Public calendars on the Community Calendar stopped updating for a while and quietly ran dry — they're syncing again every morning, each in its own color.
Events from those calendars now also show up as Discord scheduled events, so you can RSVP and get reminders right in the server.

v0.23.4 Jul 21, 2026

Classes stay filed under their guilds

Classes in the catalog are being organized under the guild that runs them — Metalworking, Ceramics, Glass, and the rest — so browsing by guild actually works. Until now the nightly sync from the old class site quietly reset every class back to a generic bucket; that's fixed, so the groupings stick.

v0.23.2 Jul 18, 2026

Pick a guild from a dropdown for /schedule-orientation

The /schedule-orientation command in Discord now gives you a dropdown of guilds to choose from — the same as /join-guild and /info — instead of typing the name.

v0.23.1 Jul 18, 2026

Pick a guild from a dropdown for /info

The /info command in Discord now gives you a dropdown of guilds to choose from — the same as /join-guild — instead of typing the name. Leave it blank to use the current channel's guild.

v0.23.0 Jul 17, 2026

Join a guild — and get around — right from Discord

New /join-guild command: type it in the Past Lives Discord, pick your guild, and you're in — you get your guild's Discord role and a welcome from the guild, no trip to the app. (You can still join with the emoji reactions in #choose-your-guild too.)
New /guide command lists every Past Lives Discord command and what it does, so it's easy to see everything you can do without leaving Discord.

v0.23.0 Jul 17, 2026

Guild leads: your mailing list, your call on who gets each email

Your guild's edit page is now clearly your Guild Settings page, and its Announcements tab has a new Your Mailing List section: see exactly who your announcements reach, add custom email addresses beyond your members, and import a list all at once.
When you post an announcement you can now choose who gets the email — everyone's included by default, just uncheck anyone you want to skip. Your members still see it in the app and it still posts to your Discord channel.

v0.22.9 Jul 16, 2026

Events in Discord

Community events now show up right in the Past Lives Discord server's Events tab, so you can mark yourself interested and get reminders without leaving Discord. Each one links back to its full event page.

v0.22.9 Jul 16, 2026

Studio Hours on guild pages

Guild leads can now set their weekly studio hours and meetings right in the app, and every guild page shows a Studio Hours card so you know when to drop by and chat with the lead. Meetings can now repeat weekly, not just monthly. Your guild's public Google Calendar stays in sync automatically.

v0.22.9 Jul 16, 2026

Slash commands in Discord

Type /link in the Past Lives Discord to connect your Discord to your member account in one tap — no digging through settings. Once connected, guild syncing and the rest of the Discord goodies just work.
Four more commands to use right in Discord: /schedule-orientation to request a guild orientation, /whats-on for the next 7 days of events and classes, /balance to check your tab, and /info for any guild's rules, meetings, FAQ, and links.

v0.22.9 Jul 16, 2026

A warm welcome when you finish orientation

When a member completes their orientation with a guild, that guild now gets an automatic hello — an in-app notification and a post in the guild's Discord channel — so newcomers are welcomed the moment they're through the door.

v0.22.9 Jul 16, 2026

Know your reach before you post

The guild Announcements tab now shows guild leads how many members will receive their emailed announcement, with the full recipient list a click away — so you know your audience before you compose.

v0.22.9 Jul 16, 2026

Jump straight to a guild's classes

Every guild page now has a “[Guild name] Classes” link that opens the class catalog filtered to just that guild's classes — even before the guild has scheduled any. The catalog shows a clear “Classes in [Guild]” heading so you always know the filter is on.

v0.22.9 Jul 16, 2026

Class reminder emails read cleanly again

Fixed the class reminder email so the instructor's welcome note shows with its proper formatting instead of stray code — the way it already appears in your confirmation email.

v0.22.9 Jul 16, 2026

A cleaner profile, with your own contact links

Your profile settings now split into a Member tab and an Instructor tab, so your teaching info stays separate from your member-directory profile.
Instructors get a dedicated “About me as an instructor” bio for your public class page — kept separate from the short bio on your member-directory card.
Add your own labeled contact links — a website, Instagram, a booking email — and choose where each one shows: on your directory card, your instructor page, or both.

v0.22.9 Jul 16, 2026

Easier-to-read class confirmation screens

The class registration confirmation and cancellation screens had gold text that was hard to read in light mode. The wording now shows in a clearly legible color in both light and dark themes.

v0.21.19 Jul 13, 2026

Account page loads reliably again

Fixed an error that could stop your account page from loading when one of your classes was taught by an instructor without a public profile page. Your upcoming and past classes now show up reliably, and the instructor's name is shown either way.

v0.21.19 Jul 13, 2026

Recurring events show up on the calendar

Repeating events from a linked Google calendar — like weekly Open Studio Hours — now show up on the Community Calendar for every upcoming date, not just the very first one.

v0.21.19 Jul 13, 2026

Classes grouped by guild on the calendar

Class events on the Community Calendar now sit under their guild's own filter and legend, so you can show or hide any one guild's classes with a tap — and each guild's classes take on its calendar color. Set a color on your guild page to make yours stand out.

v0.21.19 Jul 13, 2026

Pick your timeframe on the class catalog

The class catalog now lets you choose how far ahead to look — the next 30, 90, or 180 days, or everything upcoming — and the count at the top finally matches exactly what's shown.

v0.21.19 Jul 13, 2026

Clearer guild staff titles

Guild staff titles read better now: you can name someone a “Guild Lead” (not only “Co-Guild Lead”), and the “Orienter” role is now “Orientator.”

v0.21.14 Jul 12, 2026

Your Guilds, wherever you are

There's a simple on/off switch for every Guild in Settings — flip one to officially join (and get its announcements) or flip it off to leave.
And now you can pick your Guilds right from the #choose-your-guild channel on Discord — it syncs both ways with your guilds here!

v0.21.13 Jul 12, 2026

A better way to run announcements

Anyone can now suggest an announcement for their guild — a lead or admin reviews it before it posts, and you can track or tweak your suggestion.
And the tool itself got an upgrade: ping @everyone on Discord, preview the email live, save drafts, and choose exactly which channel it lands in.

v0.21.11 Jul 12, 2026

Community events, leveled up

Anyone can now propose an event for the Community Calendar — a guild lead or admin gives it a quick thumbs-up and it's live for everyone!
Every event gets its own shareable page with all the details and an "Add to calendar" button — easy to share and save!
Pick when an event's announcement goes out, and switch on reminders 1, 3, or 7 days ahead plus a "happening now" heads-up!

v0.21.10 Jul 12, 2026

Your notifications, cleaned up

The bell up top now opens a full Notifications page instead of a cramped little dropdown — way easier to read and scroll on your phone!
And we retired the buggy "new sign-in from a new device" email that cried wolf over normal network changes — your sign-ins are still logged, just no more noise!

v0.21.9 Jul 12, 2026

QR codes, QR codes, QR codes!

Guilds, Classes, and Events all generate their own QR code now — download a ready-to-print share card and put it on a flyer or a door sign!
Scan it and you land right on the page, and the link keeps working even if the address changes — so your printouts never go stale!

v0.20.5 Jul 4, 2026

A home base when you sign in

Signing in now lands you on a real home page — what's coming up for you, the latest from your guilds, and quick links to everywhere you go.
New here? A friendly "Get started" checklist walks you through your profile, joining guilds, and setting a voting preference — dismiss it anytime.

v0.20.1 Jul 3, 2026

One place for how our space works

A new Space & Org Info page in the sidebar: a map of the space (guild spots, restrooms, exits), parking, who to contact, and the code of conduct.
The Member Guide and Code of Conduct now live right here, instead of scattered across separate Google Docs.

v0.20.1 Jul 3, 2026

Your profile & the member directory

Editing your profile is safer — if a photo's too big, we keep the rest of your changes instead of losing them while you swap in a smaller one.
New members show in the directory by default (you can still hide yourself or any detail), and connecting Discord fills in your handle for you.

v0.20.1 Jul 3, 2026

Guild pages got a glow-up

Orientations, Meeting Notes, and Events are now tabs right inside the guild editor, so you set everything up in one place.
Post a guild announcement to email plus your pick of Discord channel, staff show once with all their titles, and FAQs can be renamed and take links.

v0.20.1 Jul 3, 2026

A few smaller touches

A cleaner sign-in — we removed a confusing old staff-only login page, so it's always just your email code now.
Pages tell you what they're for up top, already-started classes drop off the Community Calendar, and your light or dark theme follows you around.
And our "what's new" update emails got a fresh, easy-to-skim look — like this one!

v0.19.17 Jun 28, 2026

Guild pages get a leadership team and more to share

Guild leads can now build a staff team — co-guild-leads, secretaries, treasurers, and orienters — who get the same access and are copied on the same requests; your whole leadership team shows on the guild page.
Give a staff member a title of your own, too: type something like 'Studio Technician' or 'Glaze Technician' right beside the preset roles, and it shows on the guild page just like the rest. A person can hold a preset role and a custom title at the same time.
Post meeting notes and agendas (each with a write-up and downloadable files or links) on a new Meeting Notes tab, and make your FAQ answers richer with an embedded video or an attached document.
Editing a guild page is easier: each section saves on its own, photos get their own Gallery tab, and you can edit an announcement after posting instead of starting over.

v0.19.16 Jun 27, 2026

Your notifications and emails, all in one place

Your notification settings are now a single, simple grid: for every kind of update — class reminders, approvals, waitlist spots, billing receipts, announcements, and voting — you pick how it reaches you: the in-app bell, email, or a browser push. Quick 'All on / All off' buttons let you adjust a whole section at once.
Class reminders now send on their own before each class — a single, nicely formatted reminder, and never a duplicate.
Every email from Past Lives now arrives in one branded layout, with an easy way to manage your preferences or unsubscribe right in the footer. The 'new login' security alert also stops crying wolf — it recognizes devices you've used and only emails you about a genuinely new browser.
New things you can opt into: makerspace-wide and guild announcements, a heads-up before monthly voting closes, and the voting results once they're in.
When you write an email or announcement — a class welcome note, a guild's thank-you, a makerspace-wide post — you now get a simple formatting toolbar: bold, italic, headings, and bulleted or numbered lists, so what you send arrives looking polished.

v0.19.8 Jun 26, 2026

Show off your skills — and open up for commissions

Your member directory profile can now list the things you make and do — woodworking, welding, music production, web design, and lots more — with optional years of experience next to each one.
Flip on 'Open for commissions!' and add a short note if you're happy to take on custom work, contract jobs, or consulting, so other members know they can reach out.
The member directory is now searchable and filterable by skill, and you can show just the members who are open for commissions — handy when you're looking for the right person for a project.

v0.19.7 Jun 26, 2026

The monthly guild-funding vote, leveled up

The tools for running the monthly guild-funding vote now live in one tabbed place — an at-a-glance overview, the full Funding History, and Snapshots for locking in each month's tally — and admins can open the same voting page members see without leaving the admin area.
The vote keeps members in the loop by email: a friendly 'polls closing soon' note showing what you're currently voting for, a nudge if you haven't voted yet, and the final funding breakdown once the results are in.
A new Voting → Settings page sets how far ahead reminders go and the funding-pool floor, lets organizers reword any voting email, and holds the results email until an organizer reviews the numbers and sends it.

v0.19.5 Jun 26, 2026

Community events and meetings on the calendar

Guild leads can post their guild's meetings and events, and admins can post community events and the Guild Lead Meeting — all on the Community Calendar, with a Discord heads-up when they go up.
Events can repeat on the schedule you choose — twice a month, monthly, every few months, or yearly — landing on the same weekday-of-month (like the 2nd Saturday), and they show on the guild's own calendar and in calendar exports and subscriptions too.
A guild's published classes now appear on its Guild Calendar alongside orientations and events, and the calendars are bigger and easier to read at a glance.

v0.19.4 Jun 26, 2026

Easier member management and invites

Every member now has a login account ready to go — so if you've never signed in, an organizer can send a one-tap email invite to set it up.
Inviting people is a proper workflow now: see who's been invited and whether they've joined, resend an invite that's been sitting unanswered, or cancel one that went out by mistake.
The member admin is tidier — each person shows their email and whether they've signed in, people who took a class without joining are marked as non-members, and managing someone's email addresses lives in one Emails tab.

v0.19.3 Jun 26, 2026

Discord, tidied — one channel, guild channels, and a personal DM line

Every announcement the app posts — releases, makerspace-wide notes, voting reminders, and newly published classes — now lands in one tidy Discord channel, so nothing gets missed.
Guild leads can connect their guild's own Discord channel, so a guild announcement shows up both makerspace-wide and in the guild's own channel.
You can now link your own Discord account to get your Past Lives notifications as a direct message.

v0.19.2 Jun 26, 2026

Book a class, get an account

Booking a class can now set you up with a free Past Lives account in the same step — no extra sign- up and no password — so you can come back and manage your bookings.
When you opt into the newsletter while registering, the answers you give (like your experience level) help us sign you up for the mailing lists that actually fit, instead of one generic list.

v0.19.1 Jun 26, 2026

A few catalog touches

The Classes & Workshops catalog now shows how many upcoming sessions you can actually book, not just how many class types we offer.
Class groupings are now called 'Guilds' everywhere, matching how the makerspace already talks about its guilds.

v0.18.11 Jun 23, 2026

Faster first-time sign-in on the booking site

Signing in to the booking site for the first time no longer asks a set of intake questions — you go straight to your account. Newsletter sign-up still happens the usual way, with the opt-in checkbox when you register for a class.

v0.18.10 Jun 23, 2026

Orienters, plus email management is back on the member page

Guild leads and admins can now name trusted members as 'orienters' for their guild — find the new Orienters section on the guild's Orientations settings page. Orienters can run that guild's orientations (confirm bookings, sign members off, and manage availability) without being given the keys to the rest of the guild's settings.
Managing a member's email addresses is back on the member edit page: admins can add, remove, set the primary, and mark addresses verified right there, instead of digging through the old admin screens.

v0.18.9 Jun 22, 2026

Reviewers see a live preview of the class page

When a guild lead or admin reviews a class before it goes live, the review page now shows a live preview of exactly how the class page will look to a prospective student — right alongside the approve/decline controls — so you can sign off on what people will actually see.

v0.18.8 Jun 22, 2026

A clearer teaching dashboard and a simpler welcome-email switch

The teaching dashboard now matches the polished class-catalog dashboard: clearer section headings, a 'your classes this week' list, a tidy recent sign-ups table, and an at-a-glance summary — so it's easier to see what needs your attention.
The class welcome email now has a simple Active on/off switch instead of a wordy checkbox, so it's obvious whether the note is being sent to new registrants.

v0.18.7 Jun 22, 2026

Admins reliably get class-review and registration emails

When an instructor submits a class for approval, the studio's admins now automatically get the 'a class needs review' email — it goes to everyone with the Admin role, so it works without any extra setup. Admins also reliably get the 'new registration' notifications the same way.

v0.18.6 Jun 22, 2026

Tidier 'email registrants' panel on the class roster

On the class roster, 'Email selected registrants' is now a button that opens the message form only when you want it — it stays tucked away by default so the roster is easier to scan. The subject and message boxes also now match the dark theme instead of showing as white boxes.

v0.18.5 Jun 22, 2026

Easier session scheduling in dark mode

When scheduling class sessions, the date and time boxes now open their picker as soon as you click anywhere on them, and the little calendar and clock icons are now visible in dark mode. The 'Duration' menu options are readable in dark mode too.

v0.18.4 Jun 22, 2026

Readable note box on the orientation request page

Fixed the 'decline with a note' box on the orientation request page — in dark mode it was showing as a white box. It now matches the dark theme like the rest of the page.

v0.18.3 Jun 22, 2026

Readable date picker on the registration page

Fixed the 'Choose your dates' menu on the class registration page — it was showing as a hard-to-read white box that clashed with the rest of the page. It now matches the other form fields.

v0.18.2 Jun 22, 2026

Tidier class page header

Cleaned up the top of each class page: the '← All classes & workshops' link and the page's edit controls now sit in their own row just beneath the header image, instead of crowding the title over the photo. The back link is now a standard gold button so it reads cleanly in light mode.

v0.18.1 Jun 22, 2026

Guild page polish: clickable member count and guild icons in the directory

The member count on a guild page is now a clickable chip — tap it to jump straight to the member directory showing just that guild's members.
The member directory now shows each guild's icon next to its name on every member's card, so you can see who's in which guild at a glance.

v0.18.0 Jun 21, 2026

Guild orientations: book, run, and track shop orientations

Guilds can now run orientations right from their guild page. If you haven't been oriented for a guild yet, you'll see a small calendar of open times — pick one and request it in a click.
Booking an orientation sends you a confirmation email with a calendar invite you can add to Google or Outlook. It's clearly marked 'not an official booking yet' until the guild lead confirms your time.
Guild leads set everything up in one place: weekly orientation hours that fill the calendar automatically, one-off time slots, how many people fit per slot, an orientation info page, and a 'closed for orientations' switch with a note (like 'on vacation till Sept 8') for when you need a break.
When someone requests an orientation, the guild lead gets an email and can confirm, decline, or suggest another time — straight from the email with no login needed, or on the hub. Declining can include a friendly note.
Plans change: both members and guild leads can cancel or reschedule an orientation with one tap from their email, and everyone affected is notified automatically.
Leads and admins get an 'Orientations' page listing upcoming orientations across all guilds, plus a searchable, sortable history you can filter (by guild, yours, status, completed, or date range) and export to a spreadsheet.
Orientations mark themselves complete once their time passes, and the member gets a guild-lead-written 'thanks for orienting — here's what's next' email. Leads can also add a member to a slot themselves, or tick a past orientation back to 'not completed' if needed.
Guild pages now have quick contact buttons: email the guild lead, jump to the guild's Discord channel, or visit its website.
Joining a guild can now send a warm welcome email written by the guild lead, and quietly lets the lead know a new member has arrived.

v0.17.0 Jun 19, 2026

Clearer class types: one-off classes vs multi-session series

Classes that run over several dates — like a 3-week Blacksmithing course — are now clearly marked as a 'multi-session series.' One sign-up enrolls you in every date in the set, and the class and registration pages spell out all the dates so you know exactly what you're booking.
When the same class is offered on more than one set of dates (say, a June run and a July run), the catalog now shows it as a single class with a 'Pick a session set' chooser, instead of looking like a pile of separate single days.
The registration page now has a 'Choose your dates' dropdown listing every available run of that class, so you can switch to a different set of dates without going back to the catalog.
Classes brought over from the old class site are now correctly recognized as a series when they span multiple dates, so multi-week courses no longer show up as a bunch of one-off sessions.
A class that has already begun no longer shows up as open for sign-up — you can't join a multi-week series part-way through — so the catalog only lists classes you can actually still book. A series page now lists every date in the set, with ones that already happened clearly marked.
Setting up or editing a class now starts with a clear, plain-language choice between a 'Single class (one date)' and a 'Multi-session series' — and you can add or remove dates anytime, even after publishing.
Instructors and admins can offer the same class on another set of dates with one click ('Offer on another set of dates'); the new run starts as a draft and automatically stays grouped under the same class on the public page.
We added an automated test that clicks through the site the way a real member does — requesting a sign-in code, entering it, and registering for a free class — so we catch a broken sign-in or booking flow before it ever reaches you. It runs on every change we make.
The 'email me a sign-in code' page now matches the site's light theme instead of falling back to a plain, unstyled page.
Pages now show a slim progress bar at the top while loading or saving, so opening a class or saving a form no longer feels frozen on slower connections.
The admin 'Sync Now' button for the legacy CMS now shows a spinner and a progress bar while it runs — and estimates how long it'll take based on the previous sync.
The extra questions on the registration form (like experience level or allergies) are now only the ones set up in the class admin — a few leftover sample questions that were showing by mistake have been cleared out.
We now remember your answers to those questions. The next time you register for a class while signed in, your previous answers are filled in for you — ready to tweak if anything's changed.
Booked before as a guest, without an account? Enter the same email and your earlier answers come back automatically, with a clear note so it's never a surprise.
The registration page now offers a clear choice up front: log in, create a free account to manage your bookings, or simply continue as a guest.
If you create an account, we ask these questions just once during sign-up, so you're not re-typing the same things every time you book a class.
Guild Leads can now reliably manage their guild's classes and pages. If you lead a guild, you can edit and adjust any class in your guild's categories — and the Edit/Adjust controls only ever appear for that guild's lead or an admin. Previously some guild leads were treated as regular members and couldn't save their changes.
Admins now have a single Registrations page listing everyone signed up across all classes, with search, quick filters by class and status, and a one-click export to a spreadsheet.
Instructors and guild leads get that same Registrations view for just their own classes, so they can see who's coming to what they teach without needing admin access.
From a registration, an admin can now cancel a spot, move someone to a different class, or mark a refund — marking a refund frees the seat and offers it to the next person on the waitlist, with a direct link to finish the actual refund in Stripe.
Instructors can now write a custom 'welcome to my class' email that's sent automatically to everyone who signs up — perfect for what to bring, where to park, or how to prepare. It's separate from the order confirmation, off until you turn it on, and there's a 'send a test to me' button so you can see exactly how it'll look first.
Instructors now see the makerspace-wide discount codes (like the members' discount) right on their Discount Codes page, clearly marked as admin-managed and read-only, alongside their own codes — so it's obvious which codes already exist before creating a new one.
Guild pages now show a 'Next Meeting' card that figures out the date for you: set a cadence like 'monthly, 3rd Thursday at 6pm in Studio B' and the page always shows the upcoming date — or a one-off override, or 'TBA' if nothing's scheduled yet.
Guild leads and admins can now post announcements to their guild page — pinned at the top, above the About section — and set them to automatically disappear after a date you choose.
Guild pages now show quick stats (members, classes offered, next meeting) and an 'Upcoming classes' list that links straight to sign-up, plus a 'Get Involved' panel for joining the guild or teaching a class.
Guild pages are now organized into tabs — Overview, Calendar, and Classes. The Calendar tab shows that guild's events and class sessions in the same week/month view as the main calendar, and the Classes tab lists all the guild's published classes with one-click sign-up.
Guild pages now have a 'Recent Activity' feed showing the latest happenings — new members joining, fresh announcements, and newly published classes.
Guild leads can now spotlight a 'featured class' that appears as a highlighted sign-up card at the top of their guild page.
The member directory now shows which guilds each member belongs to, and you can filter the directory by guild to see everyone in one. Joining a guild is instant, and you can join as many as you like.

v0.16.8 Jun 18, 2026

Big booking-site update: classes, sign-in, approvals, and search

Fixed a 500 error that prevented new account signups on the booking site.
The 'new sign-in from a new device' security email now uses the same polished template as other Past Lives emails.
The site activity feed now correctly shows who registered for a class instead of 'System'.
The '+N more dates/sessions' text on class listings is now clickable and expands to show all dates inline.
The admin Classes list now groups classes that share the same title and category into one row, showing a date count badge. Changing the category on one grouped class automatically updates the rest.
Class pages now spell out 'Past Lives Members' next to the member price instead of the 'PL' shorthand.
The booking-site sign-in, sign-up, and welcome/onboarding pages now match the light theme used everywhere else, so the text is easy to read in light mode instead of washed out.
When you register for a class while signed in, your pronouns and phone number now carry over to your profile and welcome steps, so you don't have to type them again.
Class image galleries are now capped at 10 photos, with a clear '10/10' indicator when you reach the limit.
Admins and instructors can now export a class's participant list to a spreadsheet (name, email, registration date, payment status) right from the registrations page.
If you've already opted in to class email updates, the newsletter checkbox no longer reappears at checkout. Behind the scenes, 'first-time student' email tagging now correctly skips people we already know as members.
Each class page now generates its own unique title and description for search engines, so the same class offered on different dates no longer looks like duplicate pages to Google.
New classes are now approved in order — first the guild lead, then a Past Lives admin — and guild leads get a 'Needs your attention' panel for classes awaiting their sign-off.
The site activity log now records exactly who confirmed, cancelled, or refunded a class registration, instead of attributing some of those actions to 'System'.
Classes can now be set up as a multi-session 'Series Package' — one sign-up and one payment enrolls you in all the dates — or a 'Single Session', with a badge on listings so you can tell them apart at a glance.

v0.16.7 Jun 15, 2026

Guild logos on class pages and FOG hub topbar

Class pages that don't have a hero image now show the guild logo for that category instead of a blank header.
The category chip on a class page now shows the guild logo alongside the category name.
The member hub topbar now reads 'Past Lives FOG' and shows the version number in brackets instead of 'BETA'.

v0.16.6 Jun 11, 2026

Scheduled reminders, account page polish, onboarding fixes

Lease expiry and voting reminders now run automatically — no manual setup needed.
Your account page on the booking site now looks great in light mode.
Fixed the onboarding questions not showing which answer you selected.

v0.16.5 Jun 10, 2026

Classes offered on many dates show once

When a class runs on several different dates, the catalog now shows it a single time with a 'Pick a date' list, instead of repeating the same class once per date. Each date keeps its own seats, so you can see at a glance which dates still have spots.
A class page now lists the other available dates for that same class, so you can switch dates without going back to the catalog.

v0.16.4 Jun 10, 2026

Class session calendar saves reliably

When editing a class, the session scheduling calendar now loads correctly every time, so adding or changing session dates and times saves as expected. Previously it could fail to appear when navigating straight to the edit page.

v0.16.3 Jun 9, 2026

Save confirmations show up again

When you save something (your profile, a guild page, your settings, and so on) the little confirmation pop-up in the corner now reliably appears again, so you get clear feedback that the change went through.

v0.16.2 Jun 9, 2026

Cleaner class titles on the Community Calendar

Class events on the Community Calendar no longer show the trailing date in their title (e.g. 'Intro to Welding - 6/5/26' now reads 'Intro to Welding'), matching how class names already appear in the catalog.

v0.16.1 Jun 9, 2026

Community Calendar shows each class once

The Community Calendar no longer lists classes twice. Each upcoming class now appears a single time and links straight to its page here on Past Lives, instead of the old classes.pastlives.space listing.
The classes management Overview now has a 'View more' link under 'Upcoming classes this week' that jumps to the full Community Calendar.

v0.16.0 Jun 8, 2026

Booking-site fixes, a clearer teaching area, and email auditing

On the public booking site (book.pastlives.space), the 'Manage Classes & Workshops' and 'Manage My Classes' buttons now take you straight to the right place in your member dashboard — before, they led to a dead page.
Hosting classes is open to every member: there's no separate 'instructor' role anymore. Any member can create and manage a class or workshop — it still needs approval from the category's Guild Lead and an admin before it goes live. The teaching pages now live at a clearer /classes/teach address, and old links redirect there automatically.
The top bar on the booking site is tidier for signed-in members — the link back to your FOG dashboard and your 'Member' badge are now properly styled and only appear where they're useful.
Admins have a new site-wide Activity dashboard in the sidebar. One tab shows a chronological feed of what's happening across the site — logins, profile updates, votes, tab charges, class registrations, and more. A second tab logs every automatic email the site sends (receipts, class confirmations, invites) so you can confirm exactly what went out and catch anything that failed.
Guild pages got a big visual refresh. Each guild now has a proper hero banner, an image gallery with click-to-zoom, an optional intro video, a meeting schedule, a frequently-asked-questions section, and a links sidebar — all managed by guild leads and admins from a redesigned full-page editor (the old pop-up is gone). Members can now join or leave a guild in one click, and guilds that opt in can show a roster of their members, respecting each member's directory-privacy settings.
Past Lives now keeps you in the loop with notifications. A bell in the top bar collects everything relevant to you — a new class or workshop going live, your registration or refund clearing, a waitlist spot opening up, your tab being charged, monthly voting reminders, and more. Under Settings → Notifications you choose which of these also reach you by browser push or email; the bell always shows the full list. For your account's safety, you'll always get an email when someone signs in from a new device.
The classes admin area has a brand-new Overview page that greets you when you open it. At a glance you can see which classes are waiting for your approval (with Review and Approve buttons right there), which classes have people on a waitlist, your most recent sign-ups, and a 14-day chart of how registrations are trending.
The management tabs are simpler. Instead of seven tabs across the top, there are now just three — Overview, Classes, and Settings. Categories, discount codes, registration questions, and waiver text all live together under Settings now, so the day-to-day tabs stay uncluttered.
There's a 'View live catalog' link in the management header so you can hop straight to the public booking site to see your classes the way visitors do.
Anyone teaching a class gets the same upgrade on their teaching dashboard — opening it now shows your drafts, anything awaiting review, your latest sign-ups, and your waitlists at a glance, with a one-tap 'Create your first class' if you're just getting started.
Opening a class now puts everything for that class in one place — a tabbed workspace for its registrations, waitlist, and discount codes, with Edit and Preview right at the top.
You get that same per-class workspace for your own classes — open any class you teach to see its sign-ups, waitlist, and discount codes in one place. Your teaching profile now lives in the top-right account menu.

v0.15.0 Jun 8, 2026

Old-CMS classes import and sync automatically every day

The class catalog and Community Calendar now refresh themselves automatically every morning. New workshops imported from the old class site (classes.pastlives.space) and any updated guild calendars show up on their own — nobody has to open the calendar or press a button to pull them in. The 'Sync Now' buttons in Site Settings are still there whenever you want an instant refresh.

v0.14.2 Jun 7, 2026

Booking site polish: upcoming-only listing, pagination, and cross-site login

The class list now only shows classes with upcoming sessions — past events no longer clutter the page.
Classes are paginated 25 at a time, sorted by closest upcoming date first. A Previous/Next bar appears at the bottom when there's more than one page.
The sticky category strip has been removed. A small arrow button appears in the bottom-right corner when you scroll down — click it to jump back to the top.
If you're already logged into pastlives.space, visiting your account on book.pastlives.space will automatically sign you in without a second login prompt.
The Past Lives logo in the top-left of the booking site now links to the class list instead of the main website.
Class detail pages no longer show a blank instructor tile when the instructor isn't on record.
Class descriptions now display with proper paragraph breaks instead of running together as a single block of text.

v0.14.1 Jun 6, 2026

Classes from the old CMS now show up on book.pastlives.space

All classes from classes.pastlives.space now automatically sync into book.pastlives.space every 15 minutes — flip the toggle in Site Settings → Legacy CMS to turn it on. When you're ready to manage classes exclusively here, just turn it off.
Imported classes link to the right instructor automatically when the class title includes 'with [Instructor Name]'. Once linked, the connection is never overwritten by a re-sync so any manual adjustments stick.
Hero images from the old CMS are served through a proxy so class cards look complete right away — run 'Download legacy images' when you're ready to move them into plfog's own storage.
The Members admin table now shows how many classes each instructor is teaching, with a one-click link that filters the Classes table to just their classes.
The Classes admin table now has an instructor dropdown filter so you can quickly see every class taught by a specific person.
Site Settings has a new Legacy CMS tab with the sync toggle, a 'Sync Now' button for on-demand imports, and an instructor match table that shows how many of each instructor's classes were automatically linked by name.

v0.14.0 May 28, 2026

Classes CMS round 2: rebrand, waitlist, dual approval, activity feed, and more

The public Classes site at book.pastlives.space now matches the look of pastlives.space. The old blue Squarespace backdrop is gone, the whole portal uses the Past Lives palette, and there is a slim PAST LIVES header at the top with Home, Guilds, Membership, Classes, and Contact links so it feels like one site to your customers.
Light theme is the default on book.pastlives.space. The dark/light toggle in the top bar still works on the member hub the same way it always has.
Class detail pages are now full width with bigger, easier-to-read text (16px floor everywhere). New sections appear automatically when the class has them: a video block, gallery, schedule, materials and prereqs side by side, an instructor card, a guild card, a short FAQ, related classes, and a sticky booking card on the right that follows you as you scroll.
Instructors can paste a YouTube link onto any class and it embeds right in the description. Works with watch links, youtu.be short links, embed URLs, and shorts.
Each of the 14 guild categories has a small icon next to its name on the public list. Admins can swap any icon for a custom one from the category admin.
All Classes page got a Filter button. Sort by category from a dropdown, then click Filter to pick instructors, set a price range, or show only classes with a member discount, free classes, or classes with upcoming sessions. The URL updates as you filter so you can share a link to exactly what you are looking at.
Discount codes can now be made for a single class. Open Edit on any class and look at the new "Discount codes for this class" section. Codes you make here only work for that class. There is also an Auto-apply toggle, which drops the price for every registrant without them needing to type the code. Global codes still live on the Discount Codes tab and still require an admin to make.
New approval flow for classes. When an instructor submits a class, it now goes to both an admin AND the Guild Lead of that class's guild (when one is set). Each reviewer gets an email with their own link so they can approve, request changes, or decline with notes. The instructor gets an email each step of the way: the class only goes live when every reviewer has approved. Requesting changes or declining bounces the class back to Draft so the instructor can edit and resubmit.
Waitlists for sold-out classes. When a class is full the Register button changes to "Join the waitlist" and the registrant gets confirmation of their spot in line, no charge. When somebody cancels, we email the next person on the waitlist with a 24-hour window to register. Admins see the waitlist on each class's admin page.
New Activity tab in the Classes admin area. Reverse chronological feed of everything that happens with classes: who created a class, who submitted it for review, who approved or requested changes, who registered, who got refunded, who joined the waitlist, when a discount code was used. Filter chips for Classes, Registrations, Waitlist, and Discount codes plus a search box for class title, name, or email.
Fixed invisible text on the Register button and category chip on class detail pages in light theme.
Community Calendar now uses the same clean background as the rest of the site — the old Squarespace backdrop image is gone.
Registration form inputs and text are now readable in both light and dark mode. Dropdowns on the form also match the rest of the field styling.

v0.13.2 May 26, 2026

Image uploads work on the New Class form

The 'New Class' form now has the same hero image and gallery image upload experience as the edit form — drag-and-drop zone with instant preview instead of a plain file picker. Gallery images are uploaded when you hit Save.

v0.13.1 May 26, 2026

Students on class detail, dollar pricing, admin create form fix

The class detail page now shows all registered students right on the page. You can see who signed up, their email, payment status, and registration date without leaving the class. Cancelled or refunded registrations appear dimmed for reference.
Admins can email students directly from the class detail page. Check the students you want to reach, click 'Email selected students', type your message, and send. Recipients are BCC'd so no one sees the others' emails, and every send is logged.
Price fields on class forms now accept dollars (e.g. 80.00) instead of cents (e.g. 8000). Same for the fixed discount field on discount codes. Existing prices display correctly; nothing changes behind the scenes.
Fixed the discount code list showing dollar amounts wrong (e.g. '$2000.00' instead of '$20.00').
The 'New Class' form for admins now has the session calendar and gallery image section, matching the edit form.
The 'View Publicly' button on the Classes page now opens book.pastlives.space in a new tab.

v0.13.0 May 25, 2026

Visual session calendar, AJAX images, admin polish

Instructors now schedule class sessions on a visual month-view calendar — click a day, pick a time and duration, done. No more fiddling with raw datetime fields. Sessions show as gold dots on the calendar and are listed below with times.
Gallery images upload instantly without hitting Save. Drag and drop to reorder, inline alt text, one-click delete. Max 10 images, 10 MB each, auto-compressed.
Hero image also uploads instantly via drag-and-drop — no more needing to save the whole form.
Instructors get an email notification when someone registers for their class. Admins can subscribe to registration notifications via CLASS_ADMIN_NOTIFY_EMAILS.
The registration detail page got a full redesign — all info at a glance in clean card sections.
Fixed the admin registrations page showing payment amounts in cents instead of dollars ($7200 → $72.00). Stripe charges were always correct — display-only bug.
Member pricing now says 'for PL members' on public class pages.
Removed the 'Recurring pattern' and 'Requires model release' fields from class forms — they were confusing and unused.
Fixed hero image stretching on the edit page preview.
Fixed gallery hover-zoom distorting images that aren't 16:9.
Registrant names are now clickable links in the admin registrations table.

v0.12.0 May 25, 2026

CMS polish: styled emails, admin consolidation, instructor registrations

Class confirmation and reminder emails now match the polished look of our login emails — dark card with gold accents, clear schedule and location details, and a big 'Manage Registration' button so you can view or cancel right from the email.
Billing receipt emails got the same treatment — itemized charges in a clean card layout with a link to your Stripe receipt.
All email links are now full clickable URLs instead of bare paths, so they work in every email client.
The classes admin area is now one consolidated workspace — Settings and Registration Questions are tabs alongside Classes, Registrations, Instructors, Categories, and Discount Codes. No more hunting across separate pages.
Instructors now see their registrations grouped by class. Each class section expands to show its registrants and has its own email compose tool, so you can quickly see who's signed up and message them without switching tabs.
Registration Questions (the custom questions asked on every class sign-up) can now be managed from the classes admin tab instead of the Django admin.
Fixed paid class registration not redirecting to Stripe checkout when submitting the registration form.
Discount codes created by instructors now require admin approval before they can be used. Admins see an approve/unapprove toggle on each code.
Every admin table (Classes, Registrations, Instructors, Categories, Discount Codes, Questions) now has a search bar, clickable sortable column headers, and pagination.

v0.11.7 May 23, 2026

Fix: production deploy blocked by migration conflict

Fixed a migration conflict that was preventing the app from starting on production. Two independent changes landed on the same migration number and Django refused to run until they were merged — no data was affected, the app just couldn't start.

v0.11.6 May 23, 2026

Classes: smarter photos, newsletter tagging, custom questions, and instructor messaging

Class photos now auto-resize on upload — drop in a 4MB iPhone HEIC and we'll downscale and convert it to a clean web JPEG. The hero image gets a built-in crop tool: pick the 16:9 focal point and the public page crops to your selection.
Newsletter tagging picks up more context. When someone registers for a class, their newsletter contact now gets tagged with the category, the instructor, the guild (if the category is linked to one), and 'first-time-student' if it's their first class with us.
Categories can now be linked to a guild. Admins set the link from the category edit page, and it drives the new guild Mailchimp tag.
When a member finishes onboarding on book.pastlives.space, their account is now synced to Mailchimp with their persona, referral source, and category interests as tags — so newsletter campaigns can target by 'how they found us' or 'what they're interested in', not just who's already registered for a class.
Tour status from Simplybook is now pulled into member profiles. The account overview and instructor roster can show whether a member has completed a tour, refreshed at most once a day per member.
You can now set up global registration questions that get asked on every class registration. Admins manage the list from the Django admin — short text, paragraph, yes/no, or pick-one — and instructors see the answers next to each registrant on their registrations page.
Instructors can now email their students directly from the registrations page. Tick the rows you want to message, type a subject and body, and send. Recipients are BCC'd so no one sees the others' addresses, and every send is logged for the audit trail.

v0.11.5 May 22, 2026

Classes: multi-image galleries with hover-zoom + a preview button

When you create or edit a class, you can now upload extra gallery photos in addition to the hero banner — finished pieces, the studio space, tool close-ups, anything that helps a visitor picture the workshop. Each photo gets an optional alt-text field and a sort number so you can put them in the order you want.
Picking a new image instantly shows a thumbnail in the form so you can tell which file you grabbed before saving.
On the public class page, the hero now leads a real gallery — thumbnails along the bottom, hover anywhere on the main image to magnify a close-up of that spot (great for showing detail on glasswork, ceramics, fiber pieces), and click to open a full-screen lightbox with arrow-key navigation.
A new 'Preview' button on the class form opens the public class page in a new tab — instructors and admins can see exactly how the page will look to visitors before submitting for review or publishing, including drafts.
The hero image field now has a small '?' tooltip showing the recommended dimensions (1600 × 900, 16:9) and max file size so you know what to aim for before uploading.

v0.11.4 May 22, 2026

book.pastlives.space: an obvious way to sign up

The public site at book.pastlives.space now has a 'Sign up' button right in the navbar next to 'Log in' — new visitors don't have to know to click through Log in to find the signup link anymore.
Signing up on book.pastlives.space is always open, regardless of the invite-only setting in Site Settings. The invite-only gate was meant for makerspace membership signups on members.pastlives.space — it shouldn't be blocking someone from making a book account just to track their class registrations.

v0.11.3 May 22, 2026

Site Settings: add multiple calendars to the Community Calendar

Site Settings now has its own Calendar tab with a list of named calendar feeds — General, Workshops, Open Studio, anything you want. Click '+ Add calendar' to drop in another iCal URL, give it a name and a color, and it shows up on the Community Calendar legend with its own colored chips.
The Site Settings page is now organized into two tabs (General and Calendar) so finding registration, MailChimp, and analytics settings stays out of the way when you're just managing calendars.
Existing General Calendar setups were automatically migrated into the new list as a 'General Calendar' feed — nothing to do, no events go missing.

v0.11.2 May 22, 2026

Delete classes outright, and a $1 minimum on paid classes

Admins can now delete any class that has no registrations — not just drafts. The Delete button shows up on the class detail page next to Archive whenever no one has signed up yet. Classes with registrations still have to be archived so we keep the history.
When you set a price on a class, the minimum is now $1.00. Anything cheaper should just be a free class — tick 'This is a free class / workshop' and the price goes to zero. (This only affects new prices you set going forward; classes that were already priced below a dollar still work.)

v0.11.1 May 22, 2026

Class registration: friendlier error when a price comes out too low

Fixed a bug where the 'Continue to payment' button on a class registration page could show an error screen if the total ended up less than $0.50 (for example after applying a big discount code). You'll now see a clear message asking you to remove the code or get in touch with the studio.

v0.11.0 May 22, 2026

Classes & workshops are now open to everyone at book.pastlives.space

We launched a brand new public site at book.pastlives.space — anyone can browse our classes and workshops, sign up, and pay, no Past Lives account required. Send the link to friends, family, or anyone curious about taking a class with us.
Members: nothing changes for you. Classes still live in the sidebar at /classes/ inside your hub, the member discount still applies automatically, and your dashboard looks exactly the same as it did yesterday.
One login, two doors — if you're signed in on members.pastlives.space and you wander over to book.pastlives.space, we still recognize you and your member discount still applies. Handy for grabbing a link to share or showing a class to a non-member friend looking over your shoulder.
Anyone who registers for a class can now create a free account and log in at book.pastlives.space to see their upcoming classes, past classes, receipts, and edit their contact info. No membership required — it's just a lightweight place for class takers to keep track of what they've booked.
A short 3-step welcome runs the first time someone signs in at book.pastlives.space — it asks if they've ever taken a class with us before, collects a preferred name and a day-of contact phone, and lets them check off which kinds of classes they'd like to hear about. Every step is skippable, and we only email them about new classes in the categories they picked.
Booked as a guest and forgot to make an account? There's a new 'Find my booking' page at book.pastlives.space/account/lookup/ — type in your last name and the confirmation order number from your email (the friendly PL-XXXX-YY one we now print at the top of every confirmation) and we'll pull up your booking. No password needed.
Instructors can hop over to book.pastlives.space anytime to see classes they've personally signed up for as a student. A small link inside their account points back to their teaching dashboard on members.pastlives.space — that's still where class management happens.
Registrations from both surfaces land in the same place — admins manage everything from one Classes admin in the members hub, so there's nothing new to learn and nothing to keep in sync.

v0.10.1 May 21, 2026

Stop login-page email spam from draining our daily quota

The login page now has a few new defenses against the bot that's been hammering it the last couple of days. The form looked too easy to spam, which is why our daily email quota was getting maxed out: every random email someone typed in (real or not) triggered an outgoing email, and Resend has a daily cap.
Random emails no longer trigger an outgoing 'no account found' message. After you submit the login form, the page now says 'If you are a member at Past Lives, we sent a sign-in code to ...' — that wording is intentional. It doesn't confirm or deny whether the email is on file, which protects member privacy and also stops bots from using the form to enumerate real addresses. Nothing actually gets emailed unless the address matches a member.
Tighter rate limiting on the login page: at most 5 requests per minute from any one device, and at most 3 codes per hour to the same email address. Repeated submissions beyond that quietly drop instead of sending.
Added an invisible 'honeypot' field that real browsers ignore but most bots dutifully fill in. If it comes back filled, the request is treated the same as if the user had been rate-limited.
Hard daily and hourly caps on total login emails (configurable, defaulting to 100/hour and 500/day) as a last-resort safety net. If anything ever slips past the other defenses, the site will stop sending login emails before the bill runs over instead of after.

v0.10.0 May 5, 2026

Mailchimp signup + site-wide Google Analytics

Class registration now has an opt-in checkbox — tick it and you'll start getting our newsletter about future classes, events, and what's happening at Past Lives. Leave it unchecked and nothing changes.
Brand new Newsletter page at /newsletter/ — anyone (members or not) can drop their email in to get our updates, no account required.
Site Settings now has working MailChimp credentials — paste in the API key and audience ID and the signup paths above start sending people to the right list, tagged so we can tell who came from a class versus the standalone newsletter form.
Google Analytics now tracks every page on the site instead of just the public Classes pages — set the GA4 ID once in Site Settings and every member page, every public page, every auth page reports back. The Django admin is excluded so we don't pollute analytics with internal traffic.

v0.9.0 May 1, 2026

Calendar QOL + a redesigned Profile page that lets you control what's public

The Calendar's month view used to show the calendar month you're in, which meant by the end of April you were staring at a near-empty grid. It now shows a rolling 4-week window starting from the current week, so you always see this week plus the next three. The Prev/Next arrows step the window forward or back by 4 weeks at a time.
Event titles are now visible right on the calendar grid in both Week and Month views — no more guessing which colored dot is which event. Click any title and the page jumps to that event in the list below and gives it a quick highlight. If the event lives on a different page, the list auto-flips to that page first.
Today's column on the calendar grid now has a thin red line across the top, and any event that's happening right now gets a red outline plus a pulsing 'Live now' pill on its card.
Profile settings got a new design with per-field privacy controls. Next to each field — phone, email, Discord, pronouns, photo, about-me, etc. — there's a small Public/Hidden eye-icon toggle so you can decide exactly what other members see when they look you up. A live preview on the side shows your directory card update in real time as you flip toggles or type. A panel at the bottom lists everything that's never shown to other members (legal name, billing, emergency contact, internal notes) so there's no ambiguity.
On mobile, the Feedback button used to live at the bottom of the sidebar where it could get cut off and was hard to find. There's now a yellow Feedback bubble pinned to the bottom-right corner of every page on mobile so it's one tap away. The mobile sidebar also handles short screens better and respects the device's safe area.

v0.8.8 Apr 27, 2026

Hotfix: site layout broken for everyone

Fixed a bug introduced in the last release where the entire site rendered at half-width with a stray line of text near the top — the page was unusable. Everything looks correct again.

v0.8.7 Apr 26, 2026

Free classes & workshops — and a fix for the Register page styling

When you create or edit a class, there's now a "This is a free class / workshop" checkbox right above the price field. Tick it and the class is free — members and visitors register without entering any payment info, and they get a confirmation email immediately.
Free classes show as "Free" everywhere on the site (the class card, the detail page, and the registration summary) instead of a $0 price tag.
Fixed a bug where the Register page on a class could load with no styling if you clicked through from another page in the same browser tab. The page now keeps its full styling no matter how you arrive at it.

v0.8.6 Apr 25, 2026

Members can sign up for classes online — plus a unified Classes page

You can now register for classes and workshops directly on the website. Click Register on any class page, fill out a short form, sign the liability waiver online, and pay with a card through Stripe — no more email back-and-forth.
Members get the member discount applied automatically when the email on the form matches a verified member email.
Free classes skip the payment step and confirm immediately — you'll get a confirmation email right away.
Discount codes are honored on the registration form, and stack on top of the member discount.
Every confirmed registrant gets a confirmation email with the schedule, location, and a personal link they can use to view or cancel their spot — no login needed.
There's now a single Classes & Workshops page in the sidebar — the same page everyone sees, members and visitors alike. Admins and instructors get a Manage button right on that page that opens the classes admin (or the Teaching dashboard for instructors), so you don't lose anything, it's just one entry point instead of two.
Fixed: a class you publish now shows up on the Classes & Workshops page right away, even before its sessions are scheduled — it appears with an "Upcoming dates TBA" note until you add dates.

v0.8.5 Apr 25, 2026

One unified view — Classes, Calendar, Payments, and admin all live in the FOG dashboard

The Classes page at /classes/ is now public for everyone — no admin toggle needed.
Everything now lives inside the FOG dashboard with the same sidebar and topnav. No more bouncing into a different admin layout — Classes, Community Calendar, Payments, Reports, Manage Members, Site Settings, and the new Voting Dashboard all open in the hub.
Admins see one sidebar with everything they need: Community Calendar, Manage Classes, Manage Members, Member Directory, My Tab, Payments, Reports, Site Settings, and Voting Dashboard.
The "Viewing as" dropdown stays in the topbar so admins can preview the hub as a Member, Guild Officer, Instructor, or Guest without switching accounts.
All instructors are members by default — the "Non-member Instructor" label is gone, instructors are just instructors.

v0.8.4 Apr 23, 2026

Classes: public portal, instructor dashboard, and calendar integration

Browse classes at a new public page at /classes/ — grouped by category with sticky filters, hero, and polished card grid; gated behind an admin toggle in Classes → Settings so it only goes live when you're ready
Class detail and instructor profile pages with schedule, description, pricing, member discount, and links back to the portal
New Teaching section in the hub sidebar for instructors — lets them see their classes, submit drafts for admin review, view their registrations, and edit their own profile (photo, bio, website, social handle)
Classes admin gets a status filter (All / Draft / Pending / Published / Archived) with live counts and dims archived rows, plus a Delete button for drafts with zero registrations — Archive preserves history; Delete is only for cleanup
Published local classes now show up on the Community Calendar alongside the external feed during the transition period
Scheduled reminder email infrastructure in place — `manage.py send_class_reminders` emails confirmed registrants for sessions starting soon (reminder window configurable in Classes → Settings)
Small admin polish: shortened URLs from /classes/admin/classes/ → /classes/admin/, 'View public portal' link in the Classes admin header, proper small red delete buttons with confirmation modals across Categories, Discount Codes, and Classes

v0.8.3 Apr 23, 2026

Fix: logout page styling

Fixed the logout confirmation page so it uses the normal Past Lives site styling instead of showing an unstyled default page

v0.8.2 Apr 21, 2026

Photos for member profiles, guild banners, and classes

You can now upload a profile photo on your User Settings → Profile page — your photo replaces your initials in the member directory and in the top-right of the navbar
Guild leads can add a banner image to their guild's page — it appears at the top of the guild detail page above the name and About section, with a tooltip explaining the recommended dimensions
Class images (categories, instructors, and individual classes) and other photos uploaded through the admin now stay around between deploys instead of disappearing
Image uploads have a 5 MB limit so things stay snappy and don't blow up our storage bill
Replacing or removing a photo now also deletes the old file from storage so we don't accumulate orphaned images over time
Friendlier image-upload UI everywhere — the small 'Currently / Clear checkbox' has been replaced with a thumbnail preview and a small red 'Remove' (or 'Delete photo') button that asks for confirmation before deleting

v0.8.1 Apr 21, 2026

Hotfix: deploy failing on Render

Fixed a deploy failure that was blocking new releases from going live on Render — the build step that packages up static files was being rejected because it couldn't see the production database settings. It now uses a harmless placeholder just for that build step, so deploys go through again

v0.8.0 Apr 21, 2026

Classes: admin tabs foundation

New Classes admin area (admins only) with six tabs — Classes, Categories, Instructors, Registrations, Discount Codes, and Settings — so we can build out the makerspace's class catalog natively inside Past Lives without needing the old booking site
Admins can create categories, invite instructors (who get their own login), build classes with a full set of fields (prerequisites, materials, capacity, member discount, scheduling), and manage discount codes — the public registration flow + Stripe payments come in a follow-up release
Instructors now exist as a first-class role: someone can be a member, an instructor, or both. The "Viewing as" dropdown recognizes the new role so admins can preview what teachers see
Class titles and category names auto-fill the URL slug as you type — saves a step every time you make a new one

v0.7.3 Apr 17, 2026

Admin role preview in the hub

Admins and guild officers now have a new "Viewing as" button in the topbar — use it to preview the hub the way a plain member or guild officer would see it, without logging out. Unchecking a role hides that role's UI for the current session only.

v0.7.2 Apr 15, 2026

Fix: login page CSS broken after navigating from the hub

Fixed a bug where navigating to a protected page with an expired session would redirect you to the login page with completely broken styles — it now does a proper full-page load so the login page looks correct

v0.7.1 Apr 15, 2026

Calendar: Classes sync, configurable colors & pagination

Classes from classes.pastlives.space now show up on the Community Calendar — click the title to go straight to the registration page
Classes have their own color on the calendar, separate from General events — customize it in Site Settings
The event list now shows 10 events per page with prev/next arrows so the page doesn't get overwhelmed
Admins can configure the Classes color in Site Settings → Community Calendar alongside the existing General color

v0.7.0 Apr 15, 2026

Community Calendar

New Community Calendar — see all upcoming makerspace events in one place, with week and month views so you can plan ahead
Filter events by guild to find workshops, meetups, and events from just the guilds you care about
Export any event to your personal calendar app (Google, Apple, Outlook — whatever you use) with one click
Guild officers can now link their guild's Google Calendar so events sync automatically — no more posting events in two places

v0.6.7 Apr 15, 2026

Current Vote Standings — real totals

Current Vote Standings now show the real point totals — a guild that picked up votes at multiple ranks (say, one 1st, two 2nds, and three 3rds) was being displayed with those counts multiplied together instead of added, so some guilds were appearing at 60 points when the actual total was 17. Fixed on the Guild Voting page and the admin dashboard

v0.6.6 Apr 15, 2026

Voting hotfixes, User Settings, and sidebar polish

The Guild Voting page is now split into three tabs: Current Standings (live points), New Votes This Month (only votes cast or changed since the last snapshot), and Last Month's Results (the most recent snapshot with funding breakdown)
Your vote still rolls over automatically every cycle — once you've submitted it, it stays in place and keeps counting until you change it
The admin Voting Preferences page now shows a per-member voting history pulled from past snapshots, so you can audit how anyone's picks contributed to the totals cycle by cycle
New unified User Settings page at /settings/ with Profile and Emails tabs — the old Manage Email Addresses page that looked like the login screen is gone, and adding/removing/verifying emails now happens inside the hub layout
On the Emails tab, Manage Email Addresses and Email Preferences are now two separate cards, and the Re-send Verification button only appears when the selected email isn't verified yet
The user menu in the top-right is now just Settings + Log Out — everything else lives inside the new User Settings page
Resources links (Member Guide + Code of Conduct) and Feedback now live together in the bottom of the left sidebar, each styled consistently with the rest of the nav — no more floating button overlapping other content
Fixed a Postgres error that was blocking the last deploy on Render — the migration that clears legacy product data and drops old columns now commits its cleanup before altering the schema, so the two steps can't collide in a single transaction

v0.6.5 Apr 14, 2026

Edit products in place

You can now edit a product right from your guild page — click the small pencil on a product card and the same pop-up you use to add products opens up pre-filled with that product's name, price, and revenue split
Saving updates the product in place — no need to delete and re-add it just to fix a typo or change the percentages
Product cards are cleaner — the 'Admin 20% · Guild 80%' split summary is hidden now that you can see and edit the same info from the product's edit pop-up

v0.6.4 Apr 14, 2026

Edit Your Guild Page Directly

Guild leads can now edit their guild's page without going through the admin — just open your guild page and you'll see an 'Edit Guild Page' button next to the title and an 'Add Product' button in the Products section
Admins and guild officers see the same edit buttons on every guild page
Changing the guild name or description happens right in a pop-up window on the guild page
Adding a new product now opens a pop-up with the revenue-split builder instead of sending you to the admin panel — closing and re-opening the pop-up resets it cleanly
Existing products show a small delete button in the corner so you can remove them without leaving the page
The old 'Guilds' entry in the admin panel is gone — everything guild-related lives on the public guild pages now
My Tab page now has a hoverable '?' next to the title that explains how tabs work, and the next-charge date shows as subtext below the heading instead of buried in the middle of the card
Small copy fix on guild pages so the payment-method prompt reads 'add items to your tab' instead of just 'add items'
Sidebar 'Guilds' section starts expanded by default, and remembers your preference if you collapse it

v0.6.3 Apr 14, 2026

Flexible Product Revenue Splits

Products can now split revenue across multiple guilds and admin in any combination — for example, a $10 product can be set up so 20% goes to admin, 60% to the Ceramics Guild, and 20% to the Art Framing Guild
The percentages have to add up to 100%, but otherwise you can mix recipients however you like
The Add Product form has been redesigned: it now appears inline on the guild edit page (no more popup) with a live preview that shows exactly how a sale will be divided up
The 'active/inactive' toggle is gone — if a product exists, it's available; if you delete it, it's gone
Existing products and past tab entries were cleared during this upgrade — you'll need to re-add your products with their new split configuration

v0.6.2 Apr 14, 2026

Local Dev Setup & Cart Toast Fix

New developer setup: clone the repo, run make setup, make db-up, make server — and you're running locally with PostgreSQL
New 'make db-pull-prod' command downloads a copy of the production database for local testing
Login codes now appear directly on screen during local development — no more checking the terminal
The 'added to cart' notification now appears in the center of the screen instead of covering the tab balance

v0.6.1 Apr 13, 2026

My Tab & Guild Page Hotfixes

My Tab page redesigned: Current Balance and Pending Charges are combined into one card, and Payment Method now lives at the bottom
My Tab page now shows your saved card with a link to add, replace, or remove it
My Tab page tells you when your tab will be processed by Stripe so there are no surprises
Removing a pending charge from your tab is now a one-click trash button — no confirmation dialog
Removed the 'Add to Tab' form from the My Tab page — add items from guild pages instead
Guild pages now have a 'General Consumables' card with a quantity picker so you can add custom-priced items directly to your tab
Fixed a bug where one action would show two toast notifications at once
Cleaner spacing between cards on the My Tab page and the payment-method setup page

v0.6.0 Apr 11, 2026

Single Stripe Account, Revenue Splits & Reports

Billing now runs through a single Past Lives Stripe account — each guild no longer links its own account separately
Every charge has a configurable admin/guild percentage split (20% / 80% by default) — set site-wide or per-product
New 'split equally across all guilds' option on any product or custom charge — the guild share gets divided evenly between active guilds
New 'Enter Your Own Price' form on every guild page — add a custom-price item to your tab without an officer creating a product first
Guild product cards now have an 'Add to tab' button so members can add items in one click from the guild page
New admin Reports page (Payments → Reports) with date/guild/status filters and CSV export — shows exactly how much to pay each guild
Product editor on the admin now includes admin % and split-mode controls for officers
Saved card required again for tab entries (the direct-keys Checkout flow is gone)
Cleanup: removed Stripe Connect OAuth flow, per-guild direct-keys management, and per-guild webhook endpoints — they're no longer needed

v0.5.1 Apr 11, 2026

Funding Results — Quieter Display & Admin Email Aliases

The funding results section no longer shows how many members contributed to each snapshot — keeping that detail private for now
Admins can now add email aliases directly from the member page — handy for shared addresses like guild mailboxes where the member can't easily receive a verification code themselves
Admins can also remove aliases, change which one is primary, and toggle whether an alias is marked verified
Fixed a quiet bug where changing your primary email could silently revert on the next save — primary changes now stick

v0.5.0 Apr 11, 2026

Email Aliases & Smarter Funding Snapshots

New 'Manage email addresses' page in your profile menu — add, remove, verify, and set a primary email all in one place
Sign in with any of your verified email addresses, not just the one you signed up with
Cleaner admin: removed the confusing 'is primary' toggle on member email aliases
Funding snapshots now have a $1,000 minimum pool so small-turnout months still allocate meaningful amounts to guilds
New Snapshot Analyzer admin page — preview live vote results with filters by member type, role, and paying status before taking a snapshot
Stored snapshots can be re-sliced with the same filters to see exactly who voted for what
Admins can now delete a snapshot from the analyzer page
Fixed: non-paying guild officers' votes are no longer silently zeroed out when the funding pool is calculated

v0.4.2 Apr 7, 2026

Pay-as-you-go Tabs, Guild Product Cards & Stripe in Settings

You no longer need to save a card before adding things to your tab — just add the item and pay later
When you have charges ready to pay, a 'Pay Now' button appears on your Tab page that opens Stripe's secure checkout
Money goes directly to the guild that owns the items you bought
Guild pages now show products as cards instead of a table — easier to scan
All Stripe configuration now lives in the admin Payments → Settings page — no more editing server environment variables
Stripe Connect platform billing can now be enabled with a single toggle in Settings (for future membership and space-lease billing)

v0.4.1 Apr 7, 2026

Pay Guilds Directly for Consumables

Guilds can now connect their own Stripe account by pasting their API keys — no platform setup required
Money for consumables (clay, materials, etc.) goes straight to the guild that owns the items
Admins can test a guild's Stripe keys before saving to make sure everything is connected

v0.4.0 Apr 2, 2026

Tab Billing System

New tab system — charges accumulate on your tab and get billed on a schedule, just like a bar tab
See your tab balance at a glance with the new balance pill in the top bar
My Tab page shows your pending charges, tab limit, and remaining balance
Tab History page shows all past charges with itemized details you can expand
Add items to your own tab with the self-service form
Set up a payment method securely through Stripe — your card info never touches our server
Automated billing engine charges tabs on a configurable schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly)
Failed charges automatically retry up to 3 times before locking the tab
Email receipts after every successful charge with an itemized breakdown
Guild Stripe accounts can be connected via Stripe Connect — each guild receives their share of charges directly
Members can pick products when adding to their tab — price and description are filled in automatically
Unified Payments admin — one page for outstanding tabs, charge history, billing settings, and Stripe accounts
All financial records are preserved forever — entries are voided, never deleted
Guild pages — each guild now has its own page with an about section and a list of products
Guild leads can edit their guild's about text and manage their product listings directly from the guild page

v0.3.1 Apr 1, 2026
